Adesanya didn't expect how Strickland fought?  Don't think so...  It was the craziest part of the match imho.  Strickland brought totally nothing new and fought the same way he does in all of his matches.  Didn't bring anything unexpected and yet Adesanya looked like he wasn't prepared for it.  I mean wow...  How??

Anyway, here's the post fight conference guys...  Congrats to all you brave degens who took Strickland.

UFC 293:  Post Fight Press Conference
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpxZdLcsbIE

It was really the same strategy but the difference in this strategy was the enhanced defense, Many are saying that Israel Adesanya might be off he is not himself entering the ring Well actually it was the other way around for sure Izzy was entering the ring ready for this fight he is confident that he will win this while Sean Strickland was the one that was off, he said in the interview he is expecting that he will get hurt from this fight for sure and he is not gaining confidence at all, but a different thing have happen for sure as  Sean Strickland bested Adesanya in this one, for sure

People must have lost in this fight, seemingly confident about Adesanya winning this fight including me. He look so invincible even to his previous opponents, pretty sure he can hit anyone standing right in front of him but suddenly Adesanya turned so dull in this fight. Seemed exposed already. Who would have thought someone with just as simple strategy and going just straight jabs could get through Adesanya.

When Adesanya was knocked the first time, it would have been over if it wasn't Strickland but someone with good wrestling then went ahead jumping right on top of him and choke.

It was all in the defense even the announcers noticed it and kept on saying that they never thought how important the defense was for sure Israel Adesanya's strategy was to keep on kicking his game plan was those flashy kicks but Strickland kept on checking them, which in the Abus Magomedov fight he barely checking those question mark kicks while in this fight Strickland Miraculously keep on checking those kicks so for sure defense in much important basic for a fighter,

lol. Just lol. Such an unexpected outcome in main event. Is this the begging of the end of Izzy era? 4 fight, 2 losses, 2 wins. Zebra record. Plus boring fights previously and lack of early finishes lately. Dont thing that we gonna get a rematch this time.

Actually, we can but after Israel, Adesanya fights 1 opponent first because hat Pereira lost he immediately can make a rematch because of the consecutive wins he got but this time he came with 1 loss against Pereira and 1 win against Pereira aswell, so he can not be given an immediate rematch, I was really wrong for thinking that Izzy could get an Immediate rematch but he can not,

They settled with Pereira 1:1 when there should have been a trilogy actually. Adesanya get a rematch with Strickland is very possible. It would be interesting to see what Adesanya's game plan in their rematch coz it seem like he wasn't able to execute an offense that can damage Strickland.

Feel like I was cheated after I bet against Sean twice and lost.

Result for my Bets and prediction for the UFC 293

Israel Adesanya (1.16) VS Sean Strickland (6.00) - LOST

For sure Israel Adesanya was Stunned in the 1st round and after that, he was never seen as pretty much OK for the remainder of the fight he never saw any opening for Strickland's defense for sure some kicks just grazed Strickland but for the remainder of the round it was Sean Strickand's defense domination while he defended Izzy's strikes he then counters for Israel Adesanaya's fan it was really a frustration and I can see Izzy snap on character in some of the video and on the after fight interview he let Eugene Bareman speaks up with interviewers indicating that he is not OK at all,

Tai Tuivasa (3.00) VS Alexander Volkov (1.44) - LOST

I was saddened that Tai Tuivasa lost this fight he surely needed this win, I really thought he could grapple Volkov but when Volkov placed himself on top of Tuivasa he could not do a thing to him for sure that sheer weight of Alexander Volkov was something he never expected that led Volkov to go into submission win, for sure Tai Tuivasa is not ready for technical fighters, for me I really like Bam Bam Tuivasa and what is next for him will surely determine if he is going to stay for the UFC or not,

Tyson Pedro (1.94) VS Anton Turkalj (1.95) - WIN

Crazy this is what I can say about this fight Tyson Pedro really doesn't like this guy and he outdid it knocking out with a jab and cross to hammer a fist over Anton Turkalj, and Pedro just making his distance and jabbing his one-two on this fight that led for Anton Turkalj going down, then Tyson Pedro does the Samurai impression after the fight,

This fight was definitely a bit of a let down for Izzy fans. Adding insult to injury Strickland is out here today saying that he felt like he was fighting an amateur based on the punches that Izzy was throwing. I don’t know if this was lack of preparation, a dive for gambling profits, or if Izzy just wasn’t feeling it, but he’s got something to prove again…

On top of that, Strickland managed to get a big portion of the audience to cheer for him, which is a very rare sight.
There's no way that loss did not cause some mental damage to Izzy. You could tell just by looking at him refusing to participate in the post-fight conference. Probably it would be easier for him to recover if he was KO'ed in the 1st, as he could just blame it on Strickland being lucky etc.

The crazy thing was that Sean was pretty open on what his tactic will be - keep pressing forward and looking for a brawl. Yet, Izzy seemed completely unprepared. Although it might be that he suffered some damage in the first round and never recovered.
But I think there will be a re-match, simply because it would be the most entertaining (and therefore most profitable) match-up. Although setting up Strickland Vs Du Plessis and Adesnaya Vs Cimaev (if he defeats Costa) would also make some sense.
UFC may be a bit tired of automatically granting re-matches to former champions though, it almost seems like it's becoming a rule. There are 2 good reasons for denying Adesanya an immediate rematch: 1 - he got one recently against Pereira, 2 - this wasn't a close or controversial fight, nor did he lose by a lucky punch. He was dominated in almost every round and showed no real fighting spirit (i.e. he didn't push hard in the last round and wasn't looking for a knock-out, even knowing that was his only chance of winning).

Anyhow, congrats to Sean, I hope he manages to stay on the top for a while.

Its still a decision though. Adesanya might just get a quick rematch just as he did with Pereira. Dana will protect his cash cow which Adesanya has unlimited rematch request. He is still one of the top fighters in UFC.

But this is if the fans want it. And they might as well just give a 3rd rematch clause if Izzy wins in the 2nd. Refusing like he did with Pereira was just unacceptable. Alex might not move up if he just accept 3rd time.

Well deserved victory for Sean Stickland over Adesanya and he shocked the entire UFC universe by becoming champ last night! Now , I do think Adesanya will get his revenge and another title fight , but I really cannot see him defeating Sean if he doesn't come with a solid strategy because last night , he had none!  Grin
It was a great fight for Stickland because he was able to win the title held by Adesanya and in that fight I thought Adesanya would lose in the first round when Stickland knocked and a wild attack.
If in the first round Adesanya really lost by knockout to Stickland perhaps he would be a fighter with deep shame only he could survive until the final round and suffer defeat due to the referee decision with a fairly significant point difference.
From this defeat it looks like Adesanya will become a challenger again for Stickland and fight for his championship title again.

Congratulations to Stickland who succeeded in getting his first UFC title.

Israel maybe did not expect the boldness of Strickland in the fight, for Adesanya, he has a figure that he believes should be feared, but Strickland in the fight showed no fear. Israel will gang up and try to get back into another fight with him to try to regain his middleweight championship.

Israel has a better idea of what he will face in their next fight and will be very prepared for it.

Round 1 - UFC 0:27, this was the time when Adesanya made a huge mistake and Strickland professionally and immediately used that opportunity and brutally attacked him. But since that moment, it turned into a boring fight because there was just some walk and some kicks from both sides, there was not an action anymore. To be honest, I was expecting this fight to be as amazing as Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson but it failed for me.

By the way, the thing that I learnt is that I should always bet opposite of what Drake bets because he never wins and if I were an athlete, I would kill Drake if he was about to bet on me Cheesy. There is even an internet sensation The Drake Curse.

In that 1st round Adesanya and his crew didn't make any adjustments for sure Eugene Bareman should have been prepared for this kind of situation by having a Plan B if Plan A didn't work but instead, they stayed in this situation and just hoped for the best which is not a typical trainer should do, going out there without any plans at all, for sure takedowns will get Sean Strickland but there are no takedowns at all, for sure he can go with the takedowns after all he keeps showing it in his training videos,

Now my bets and pick results

Israel Adesanya VS Sean Strickland ROUND 5 - DECISION - LOST

This is kind of a shocker At the same time there is something on the back of my head that Strickland might get a win over Adesanya and he did, Sean Strickland is doing it with just basic skills, so for sure his boxing was on another level, while Israel Adesanaya wasn't really near Stricklands striking and defense for sure that round 1 was enough for the judges to see who really won the fight, it was the total defense of Strickland that lead him winning against Adesanaya there is something really odd with Sean Strickland when I am watching him against Abus Magomedov I should have seen it from there but because I was betting in favor of Izzy I was really blinded,

Tai Tuivasa VS Alexander Volkov ROUND 2 - SUBMISSION - WIN

It was a hard fight for Alexander Volkov for sure but this fight proven that he is a better fighter than Tai Tuivasa and that technical striking of Volkov is really something that when tai Tuivasa proven that his durability was on another level Alexander Volkov resulted with the Submission, for sure it was a great fight for Alexander Volkov getting a submission win over Tai Tuivasa,

Justin Tafa VS Austen Lane ROUND 1 - KO/TKO - LOST

This is really something that many anticipated Justin Tafa surely got the power needed to knockout Austen Lane, I really thought that Lane could go with the submission and submit Tafa in this division but for sure it was a hard fight for him, and it was a fight that ended quickly to quick that Justin Tafa really has a scary fast punch for sure that Austen Lane didn't see,

Clean win for Strickland over Izzy. I don’t think many people were expecting that. Drake lost half a million dollars on the fight but I guess that probably doesn’t mean very much to him. I’m surprised the way it looked like Izzy prettt much accepted his fate and threw in the towel towards the end. It didn’t look like he left it all out there.

Alex Periera ruined him. The psychological effects on Israel Adesanya made him a different guy. His confidence is no longer the same while his opponents are getting confident after seeing that he is not really invincible. The way Sean Strickland is pressuring him and acting like he is not afraid that much of getting hit because he wants to be the hunter and wants to land his bombs badly, made Adesanya uncomfortable.

I don't know what's next for Adesanya. I wonder if they can demand a rematch clause on their contracts or the UFC is totally the one deciding their next fights. But hopefully, Strickland can defend his belt against other contenders before a possible rematch.

@Rampagoe004. Agreed and what has just occurred might be the biggest upset in the history of UFC championship fights in Australia, near where Izzy lives and resides. The Australian fans accepted it and cheered for Sean Strickland when he made his speech.

Also, no it is not yet UFC 294. What awaits us on next fight week is much bigger. It will be 2 sexy fighting kittens and for this @pawel7777 cannot do anything if I post their sexy pictures hehehe.

Yes, of course before Fight Week we will have several UFC Fight Nights which I think are also interesting to watch. And after this I agree with you. The fight between Grasso and Shevchenko is definitely worth watching. 2 of the best female flyweight fighters currently. For some reason, I think I still favor Shevchenko who will become queen again in this class.  Grin Grin

Holy Shit, one of the biggest upsets once again in Australia, Sean Strickland just upset Israel Adesanya with just boxing clinic, straight one two and no other fancy stuff and the first round was crazy as Sean Strickland dropped Israel Adesanya and was on the verge of stoppage and any other referee would have stopped the fight and then to win the fight by decision deserves a huge respect as Adesanya could not do anything offensive to counter.

Only Chael Sonnen predicted Sean Strickland could win here and now we have a new champion  Shocked.
From the first Round where Strickland landed a straight blow to Israel which followed by plenty Rapid blows, his confidence increased in the fight and he realized that he could actually win the fight and went all out for it. He was nor scared and he fought with courage, He won the fight and the tears of joy followed, he deserved this win.

I never saw Strickland as the winner for this fight, I did not bet on it, if I did I would have put Israel as my choice, good I did not because I would have lost just as many people who bet on this fight lost their bets too.
