Amanda Nunes fought really well this time and the only doubt i had in this fight was she changed her team and started her own gym and i was not sure about her preparations and her wrestling was on point in this fight
She has always said that she wanted to open up her own gym where she could feel safer and give herself a chance more to develop she saw the need to quickly do it immediately after her last fight and you can see the tremendous effect it had on her, it gets better for her from here on. In the fight she maintained composure and made targeted strikes from her Powerful right hand to stop Pena from her rushing attacks, her victory was very convincing, she cleared everyone's doubt that her last fight may have made people develop about her.

Pena on the other hand, was optimistic throughout the fight and kept getting back up which is a commendable trait every fighter should possess. She was lucky that Nunez didn't want inflict more damage and wasn't all over her as she was to her, else she could have sustained more injury than just the cuts on her head.

Their first match was really a fluke and Amanda Nunes really said that she was sick and was struck with Covid was really true, the fight might be a decision but man it was a total dominance for Amanda Nunes, pretty much Amanda Nunes really liked what she has accomplices and pretty happy that the belt was back on her, from striking and takedowns it was accurate and Julianna Peña can not do a thing to Nunes, surely it was a great match for Amanda Nunes getting back her belt,
Amanda Nunes fought really well this time and the only doubt i had in this fight was she changed her team and started her own gym and i was not sure about her preparations and her wrestling was on point in this fight as she was able to take down Julianna Peña at will and was able to control her. But the highlight was the toughness of Julianna Peña, she was knocked down 5 times and still she kept coming back which shows how strong and tough she is when Amanda Nunes was able to stop Holly Holm and Cris Cyborg and many other with her power punches.

I was happy with the result of my picks my bet was not so happy with it, but man what a fight UFC 277 was, and here is the result of my picks

Julianna Peña VS Amanda Nunes ROUND 5 DECISION - WIN

Their first match was really a fluke and Amanda Nunes really said that she was sick and was struck with Covid was really true, the fight might be a decision but man it was a total dominance for Amanda Nunes, pretty much Amanda Nunes really liked what she has accomplices and pretty happy that the belt was back on her, from striking and takedowns it was accurate and Julianna Peña can not do a thing to Nunes, surely it was a great match for Amanda Nunes getting back her belt,

Brandon Moreno VS Kai Kara-France ROUND 3 KO/TKO - WIN

It was an Amazing fight these two really brawled hard, Brandon Moreno was really something accurate on punches and kicks, and that last kick he did to Kai Kara-France really dropped him, and then Moreno made a combo with a barrage of punches to Kara-France and after the fight, it was a lot of respect for both fighters with that I really want to see a rematch between this two if possible,

Derrick Lewis VS Sergei Pavlovich ROUND 1  KO/TKO - WIN

Derrick Lewis might have lost this but he still has contracted with Popeye's but many many are saying that this is an early stoppage, but I think it was a clear win for Sergei Pavlovich, if the referee won't stop it, Pavlovich will surely give a lot of damage to Lewis, so I think it was really a good decision to stop the fight Derrick Lewis is down and the referee was really looking out for Lewis, and I think that is why it was really safe to fight on UFC,

Magomed Ankalaev VS Anthony Smith ROUND 2 KO/TKO - WIN

Magomed Ankalaev is a monster from striking to ground he surely has dominated Anthony Smith, I really think this is a good fight for Ankalaev, making his way up the ranks once more, and because of that accurate punches of Ankalaev Smith doesn't know what to do but to give his back and I think Ankalaev can take a submission route from that position but he smash Smith with a ground and pound,

And it's not true that Nate Diaz won't have another opportunity if he doesn't accept the match up with Chimaev.  The UFC is obligated to offer three fights per year, or how many fights left in his contract, to each fighter or else the UFC pays the fighter for a missed obligation.  What Nate Diaz is actually missing out on is the trilogy vs Conor McGregor.  He should have waited instead of signing up for Chimaev.
No more waiting for him, I am sure that Diaz wont get any more chances because he begged Dana White and UFC for a long time to give him any fight.
Dana is slowly getting rid o older fighters and both Diaz brothers always had bad communication with Dana, until they smoke couple of joints  Grin
It's not bad to smoke marijuana compared to Dana White who is taking cocaine for some time.

Nate Diaz doesn't care who he fights.  He just wants out of his contract.  Dana is sticking it to him with this matchup, but I don't think Nate cares.  He wants to go out in a blaze of glory and then beat down Jake Paul in the boxing ring.  I wonder if this is going to start being the norm for the UFC...  When someone wants out of their contract Dana will just set them up to get destroyed by his best fighters...  Seems a bit harsh, but I believe that's what we're seeing here.  I think Diaz is going to have his hands full with this one, but in the UFC anything can happen.  I hope the best for him.
Exactly. Nate Diaz can either accept Dana's harsh offer or say no and remain under contract with UFC. Nate can choose the latter but if he's got bigger offers outside the UFC then he gotta accept Dana's offer. It's been noted before that Nate is one of Jake Paul's targeted opponents which will pay him millions of dollars.

In today's undercards, Popeyes Fried Chicken, Derrick Lewis was stopped in less than a minute by Sergei Pavlovich. The main event was unbelievable. It was a focused and smart Amanda Nunes that entered the octagon. I was really hoping for Julianna not to touch gloves and stop being friendly before and after the bells in order to possibly shatter Amanda's focus and smart approach. Amanda was playing smart and was reluctant in the first 2 rounds but when she saw a blooded Julianna, she regained confidence and started her usual takedowns. Still hats off to Julianna, blooded and was knockdown several times but was never seriously hurt. I want to see Nunes and Shevchenko do it again.

Congratulations to Amanda Nunez for regaining her title and becoming double champ again, she looked so delighted after the fight especially during her post-fight speech. Amanda was so strong and more focused this time around, she was just too strong and powerful for Julianna to handle, and honestly she might just be the greatest Women's MMA fighter of all time.

Julianna can still raise her head high, even though she was beaten convincingly this time out, three knock downs and with all she went through in the hands of the lioness in the cage, she still went through all 5 rounds, though in Amanda's post match interview she claimed she could have finished the fight earlier, but she just wanted it to go on for everyone to see she is the best, Cheesy Do you guys think so too?

Well i was rooting for Julianna, but it wasn't to be, there we have our winner in that fight, Amanda the lioness Nunez Roll Eyes

I wouldn't fault anybody who takes a shot at Pena esp after the first match.  It's just I think Nunes didn't give her all in training camp for that fight.  She looked kinda flabby and true enough she gassed out at the second round.  This is so unlike her as we've seen her go 5 rounds before with no problems.  But yeah...  We'll see.
Did you watched some of her prefight interviews and face-off with Pena and Nunes?
To me she looked shaken and not very secure, compared to Pena that looked very calm and stable like a true champion.
This is not going to be easy fight for both fighters but I just can't bet on Nunes with this odds and maybe I just don't like here Smiley

Nunes looks stressed and if she is not stable as you said she might fight hastily and will make mistakes.
Pena knows her jabs can get through Nunes, just a few jabs and take down will be successful. Pena will always want this to be a grappling fight to gas out Nunes like the previous.

Nunes has to derive a plan to just simply find a bigshot to stun Pena. She doesn't really look strong compared to Amanda, she's just effective because Nunes got exhuasted.

My late picks for the UFC 277: Peña vs. Nunes 2 highlight in green are my picks

Julianna Peña VS Amanda Nunes

Right now stake odds for this fight are 3.20 for Peña while 1.41 for Nunes, making Amanda Nunes still the favorite to win, most people think Julianna Peña's win to Nunes was just a fluke because we'd seen Nunes can really fight longer than 5th rounds, or maybe having Covid might have damaged his cardio, well we will see in this fight if Peña can replicate what she did on their 1st fight, but overall Amanda Nunes is seen on an advantage better stand-up, has the power for me Nunes really is winning on the 1st round so many expected that she will win it, well let's just see if Peña could win again, but I'll be taking Amanda Nunes here,

Brandon Moreno VS Kai Kara-France

Stake Odds for this fight are 1.51 for Moreno while 2.80 for Kara-France, and for this fight I think that Brandon Moreno has the advantage on the standing and the ground in short he is well-rounded, and even though Kara-France has shown some submissions win I think Moreno has a superior ground game, and on the stand-up, he got those excellent reach than Kai Kara-France, he also fought Deiveson Figueiredo 3 times while this is a rematch for them I think Moreno's advantage will surely show, so my pick is Brandon Moreno,

Derrick Lewis VS Sergei Pavlovich

Stake odds for this fight are 2.34 for Lewis while 1.69 for Pavlovich, this fight could be finished in 1 round knowing how Derrick Lewis can but he can not underestimate Sergei Pavlovich because Pavlovich can be a technical puncher, and also brought this fight to the ground, for a ground and pound, but i is unlikely for me I would go to well rounded, So my pick is Sergei Pavlovich,

Magomed Ankalaev VS Anthony Smith

Stake odds for this fight are 1.18 for Ankalaev, while 5.80 for Smith, and in this fight Magomed Ankalaev has a pretty much big advantage on odds, so I might pass on betting on this fight because it will not be profitable, but man both fighters are well-rounded, Anthony Smith has a great Jui-Jitsu but this fight will likely be starting on a stand-up, Anthony Smith has a tendency of giving his a hook punch but for me, Ankalaev will surely be giving smith a hard time with his kicks, and Smith will need to capitalize on that if he wants the fight to the ground but we all know Magomed Ankalaev, pretty much might pressure his opponent with grappling, but for Smith, he can take on Ankalaev for the whole 5 rounds but this is only on 3 rounds and likely Smith will surely not gas out, but I can also say the same with Ankalaev, but we will see, my pick is Magomed Ankalaev, but I am not betting directly for Ankalaev because it is not really profitable so I'll bet on his winning method and rounds so my bet will be a submission win for Magomed Ankalaev on the 2nd round,

The fact is Khamzat Chimaev was calling out Nate Diaz long back in social media asking to fight him and see who is the real gangster and Nate and Nick Diaz will not back down any challenge and when Dana White was looking for an opponent, i am sure Nate Diaz wanted to take on Khamzat Chimaev
for his final fight because he was calling him out rubbing his ego the wrong way and both agreed to fight. If not Khamzat Chimaev is near a title shot and there is no way Dana White could force Nate Diaz to take this fight as he rejected many fights in the past.

Champ Julianna Peña (134.5) vs Amanda Nunes (135)
I feel Julianna Peña is going to defend her title successfully, i feel so because she does not look to be under pressure, but i think Amanda is, just watching their face off you could see that Amanda is having the mentality of correcting her mistakes from the first fight, she said she is going to become "a double champ again", she looks angry, but sometimes that anger can be your own undoing. Amanda is a great fighter, she has destroyed a lot of legendary fighters in the women division of the UFC, but she needs to calm down and fight Julianna like this is their first fight, erase the memory of the initial shocking defeat and do a nice fight.

For Peña there is no pressure at all, she looked so calm in the face off, yes she is the champ but nobody expected her to win the first fight, it is still called an upset till today, even as the champ she is still the underdog, so that lack of pressure might just give her the confidence to beat Amanda once the cage is locked and the fight starts.

I think this fight is the highlight of pena carreer if she win again and keep her title i think it will be considered a legendary achievement which will prove that the first fight wasn't just a fluke, beating a champion that has been unbeaten for a long time twice mean that pena has reached a new level and maybe she can stay a champ for a long time.

I kind of agree with the current betting odds between Julianna Peña and Amanda Nunes rematch but the former champ needs to fight safely this time. Amanda had no respect for Julianna in that first fight as she was showing her braggadocio being reckless in the exchanges. I say the best of Amanda should be able to beat Julianna. In that Ultimate Fighter staredown, I felt like Amanda lost her coolness and was even following Julianna after they left the octagon. Is Julianna living in her head all this time? If Amanda losses her focus once again this Sunday and will once again recklessly trade bombs with Julianna then it'll be a different fight that the betting odds aren't expecting. Though Julianna probably had thinner skin as she got more cuts in that first fight, she obviously got a tougher chin than Amanda.

Pretty much Amanda Nunes was pressured during their ground fight and Julianna Peña has locked Nunes in a Kimura, Utilizing that to fatigue Amanda Nunes, that is why Julianna Peña inside Nunes's head, doesn't believe that Peña did defeat her, while she is having a dominance on the 1st round, then suddenly the tables have been turned, Amanda Nunes should fight smartly and with a large odds on her side I think people still believe in Amanda Nunes Strenght because she surely has that in the first place, Julianna Peña just executed a great trap for her,

Lol.  That's actually a misconception among people who don't know any better cos here's the thing, Dana can't force any fighter to agree with a match up if they don't like it.  He can't even force a fighter to fight if the fighter doesn't want to.  Diaz agreed to the match up and signed the contract.  The decision is in Diaz's hands.  But what's sketchy about this whole thing is the proposal and how it came to be.  But if Diaz wanted this match up then it's all on him.

It could be because of the money, or Nate Diaz just wants to Brawl that badly, and when he sees Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns fight he surely wants that kind of fight, the fight that would go down in centuries, even if he lost that match, people will be talking about it, and if that fight went well in his favor and if that fight end up like the Gilbert Burns fight then UFC bonus will be coming in, then Dana White could be happy about the fight but upset for letting Diaz get the bonus, I could be wrong but that is what I could think of right now,

Nothing Nate can do but go along with it and accept.  If he can upset this fight, Dana will be more upset for beating his new favorite pet.

Yep I  must have misunderstood it. This time even if Diaz is matched to someone lesser he can say no. Its however going to be shameful still now that Dana have an ax to  grind. Saying no will be a disaster for him. And Diaz has to make money, he has to accept or no opportunity once again. He can say no yet he can't be fighting Jake Paul due to the contract. If he wins against Khamzat, he will be matched to someone up a higher level next time like Usman til he finds himself in the bloodiest fight of his career.

I'd be rooting for Pena,  Moreno and Derick.

^  A fighter saying no to a match up is nothing new in the UFC.  Jon Jones did it, Jorge Masvidal did it, the Diaz brothers are known to do it.  It's just business.

Anyway...  Here are the results of the weigh ins.  A couple fighters missed weight.

Champ Julianna Peña (134.5) vs Amanda Nunes (135)
Brandon Moreno (124.5) vs Kai Kara-France (124.5)
Derrick Lewis (264.5) vs Sergei Pavlovich (254.5)

Every time I hear the name, Derrick Lewis. The first thing that comes into my mind is his free Popeyes' chicken for life. I already had a bet for Pavlovich. Pavlovich though is a brawler and is open for Lewis bombs so I'm hoping for him to fight smart.

Dana White doesn't really appreciate what his fighters have done for him and I will not be surprised if 1 day there will be no fighters fighting for the UFC anymore, because of Dana's way of approach sometimes, and he is biased toward fighters, and it is not really good at all,

Well, Derrick Lewis despite his looks and angry portrayal inside the octagon, I think he is a humble man he doesn't really care if you like him or not, he doesn't care about the tweets, likes, and dislikes he is getting and he even said on an interview that he is more than happy with the popeye's Contract than with the UFC, so that is some words from Lewis,

I don't know why so many people are expecting Amanda Nunes to win easy in upcoming fight with Julianna Peña.
Everyone underestimated Peña in the first fight but she performed amazing as an underdog and I think she can repeat that again.
Amanda is going to win one or two rounds but with this odds I must support current champ to defend the title.
I am expecting great fight and I hope this thing with injuries will stop.

This card is fantastic on paper, we have Brandon Moreno, Black Beast, Magomed Ankalaev and others.
My early bets are Julianna Peña and Derrick Lewis to win in combo.

We can not blame them for still supporting Amanda Nunes, even though Julianna Pena has won and shown a pretty good match for Amanda Nunes, but we can not take away the dominance of Amanda Nunes in that fight they are really thinking that it was just a lucky win for Julianna Pena getting Nunes gas out on round 2 and for me I still consider Nunes to be the bigger favorite, but Julianna Pena really knows what she is doing,
