Why do I feel like Uriah Hall always gets shunned when he gets somewhat close to anywhere in the top 5 opponents. He's always been an exciting fighter, win or lose, so I am glad he is getting a main event spot and I do hope he follows through on it.

@notblox1. However, T.J. Dillashaw’s takedowns did not do harm on Cory Sandhagen. I thought Cory won that fight, however, the judges in Las Vegas that night clearly were not watching the fight intently hehehe. I reckon next will be T.J. versus the winner of Aljamain versus Yan.

It was a great fight to watch but I hear a lot of complains about judging of main event, Cory Sandhagen had more significant and total strikes, he had one submission, but Dillashaw had two takedowns from many attempts, and he had a lot of leg kicks.
Split decision was made for TJ Dillashaw to win in this fight and he is probably going to fight with Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan next.

^  Sandhagen threw the more solid shots but the match itself could’ve gone either way.  So no bad judging there.  But I can’t the same for Barber.  I had it for Maverick 29 - 28...  The Paiva one was back and forth too.  I haven’t checked but I think either that or the main event is fight of the night.

...  Next event is kinda meh.  But looking forward to Chris Daukas and Danny Chavez.

The main event was not so controversial in the results as people make it out to be. This was a super hard fight to score and if it went either way I wouldn't be mad. Great performance for both and seems TJ has still got it, at least in some aspects.

Well, I got a problem with it, but still, it is a very hard to predict fight and I surely can not blame the judges it seems the fight is super fast to watch and there is a different angle that the judges might not see so it is all goods even though Cory Sandhagen lost in the decision but both fighters really did their best and still congrats for both fighters who did their all,

I have no complaints about the judging in the fight against Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw but the i could not understand which fight the judges were watching when Miranda Maverick
and Maycee Barber were fighting as it was clearly won by Miranda Maverick.

There seem many misjudgments on this event that many are complaining I would really love to complain about the Cory Sandhagen VS T.J. Dillashaw fight but again it seems that the judge doesn't see clearly from that angle that is why there are some shots that have not been counted, and maybe the Maycee Barbers VS Miranda Maverick would be the same, my pick is Maverick but Barber has won the decision, but I think Maverick is dominant with the striking, and Barber is good with takedowns, maybe the judges have pointed down that takedowns.

Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw i am not expecting the fight to go the distance and i am hoping TJ Dillashaw to perform well as he is back in his division and it will be a good test for Cory Sandhagen.
It was a really close fight but they gave everything they had and it was one of the best fights in the division and TJ Dillashaw just showed is worth even after coming back after a long time and a rematch would be great and then the title shot.

^ Agree that you can't really complain much about the judging/scoring mainly because it's done on a round per round basis. Nevertheless, TJ did a good job making the adjustments despite his popped knee as the fight went on. Those cuts on him are nasty though.

TJ is asking for a title fight next but I think we might see an immediate rematch.

edit: I just wanna give credit to TJ's tough chin and durable face Grin I also want to add that it was a mistake for Cory to go for that take down late in R3. I think that was crucial for the other two judges.
A rematch would be great and TJ Dillashaw was always durable in his division unless he decides to cut weight and go down Grin.

Islam Makhachev looks like he's going to dominate the division and will probably take Khabib's crown. I could see him fighting McGregor in the future as he's expressed interest in finishing what Khabib started and the UFC can bill that as a big grudge match but I don't think Connor will be any match for him unless he drastically improves.
I've never even considered this as a possibility. That would be an interesting bout, especially since you know that Dana, and the UFC will be pushing that Khabib will want revenge if Conor manages to beat Makhachev. I'm not sure Conor would still be as relevant as he is now by the time Makhachev gets that title shot, though.

Who wouldn't want to fight Connor. Red panty night for anyone who does and fighting Islam Makhachev is the next best thing to a Khabib rematch and Khabib will probably be in Islam's corner which will add an extra bit of spice to the fight. It's probably an easy fight to make and I'm sure it will be a contender for number 1 in PPV numbers, or at least come close to the Connor/Khabib fight maybe taking second.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/mma/article-9802823/Khabib-Nurmagomedovs-protege-Islam-Makhachev-tipped-Conor-McGregor.html

UFC ranking has been updated and Islam Makhachev is now top5. Finally ! Finally Tony Ferguson has been moved a bit down (no offence Tony fans, but he has 3 straight losses and was in top5...) and Rafael Dos Anjos.

I think that this is going to be like this: Oliveira will fight Poirier and Poirier will win, Makhachev will fight Chandler (I think he is the weakest in top1-4) and wait (probably for a year) when Poirier will have another fight with McGregor and win. Then Poirier will either win Makhachev and defend title several times, or Makhachev will win and there will another boring-blanket champ, who will submit most of his opponent like Khabib.

Poirer will likely have another fight before Conor. I think Conor will be out for nigh-on a year now and Poirier fighting Oliveria is looking like it'll be done before the end of the year. The winner should fight Islam, and then maybe Conor can fight Poirier again and then maybe the grudge match with Islam for Connor, but maybe Islam will be champ by then so I dunno.

Cory Sandhagen vs TJ Dillashaw

I was really shocked by the decision, I really think Cory Sandhagen should win that in my perspective, I think it is a robbery that first round might be a good round for Cory Sandhagen but I think that Dillashaw landed most of the strike, but the 5th round is really absurd that 5th round clearly dominated by Cory Sandhagen, and I think this is arguable that the judge have rob Sandhagen his win, sorry about that but I really think that Cory Sandhagen should have won that,

This is the scorecard and In my opinion, if I would judge that fight this is my score for both fighters

1st Round: T.J. Dillashaw
2nd Round: Cory Sandhagen
3rd Round: T.J. Dillashaw
4th Round: Cory Sandhagen
5th Round: Cory Sandhagen

I have watched the fight and check on each strike and clearly, Cory's takedown defense was really effective against Dillashaw, but one of the judges don't really see that and clearly, they are the ones that are judging the fight so I think I can surely never argue with that and this is clearly just my opinion.

Well, that was a really good card, which was ruined by bad judges. At least, in some of the earlier fights. Maverick fight in particular I thought was a little odd. However, I can't complain too much about the Dillashaw VS Sandhagen fight. I thought Sandhagen did enough damage to maybe get him the win, although he really needs to work on not giving the back so easily. Dillashaw gained a lot of respect tonight, although I didn't think much of his takedowns, I know Cory popped his knee in the leg lock in round one, however he needs to be securing more takedowns not just pressing up against the cage. Especially, when hes not doing any damage on the side of the cage.

Ruined my accumulator as I had Sandhagen for the decision at 5.00, and that's probably why I'm a little bias towards sandhagen winning, however it was a very close fight, and I don't think its a robbery at all.

My pick for the card is Hannah Goldy, Sijara Eubanks and Elise Reed to go to the distance,  Adrian Yanez and Randy Costa hopefully not going the distance, Miranda Maverick, Kyler Phillips, Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw i am not expecting the fight to go the distance and i am hoping TJ Dillashaw to perform well as he is back in his division and it will be a good test for Cory Sandhagen.

I think dillashaw is going to surprise a lot of people tonight and I think he will get the knockout against Sandhagen. Dillashaw needs to come back with a bang and this fight is going to be a battle while it lasts.

I am excited for Allen I have been hearing good things about him on the mma reddit.

Everything is ready and UFC early prelims are starting in few hours earlier than usual and they released new pre fight poster.
Macy Chiasson got injured and his fight against Aspen Ladd was sadly canceled.
Here are my main picks for this event: Cory Sandhagen, Kyler Phillips, Punahele Soriano all to win and I expect to see some KO's in this fight card.

Everybody made weight!  But Ladd vs Chiasson was scratched from the event.  I’m not really sure why but it’s not covid.  I heard that one of the fighters got injured.  The UFC didn’t say which one.

Here are the result of the weigh ins.  I will post the vid and the face off vid as soon as possible.

Cory Sandhagen (136) vs T.J. Dillashaw (136)
Raulian Paiva (135.5) vs Kyler Phillips (135.5)
Darren Elkins (146) vs Darrick Minner (145.5)
Maycee Barber (125.5) vs Miranda Maverick (125.5)
Randy Costa (135) vs Adrian Yanez (135.5)
Brendan Allen (185.5) vs Punahele Soriano (185.5)
Ian Heinisch (185.5) vs Nassourdine Imavov (185.5)
Mickey Gall (169.5) vs Jordan Williams (170.5)
Julio Arce (135.5) vs Andre Ewell (135)
Sijara Eubanks (125) vs Elise Reed (125)
Diana Belbita (114.5) vs Hannah Goldy (115.5)

That is really sad news to hear knowing that Aspen Ladd will then return after that 2019 Kunitskaya fight and I think mostly awaited by her fans especially myself, is really a letdown, but yes one of the fighters is injured but there is still no given explanation of who it is and what really happened, but I have seen from MMA Junkie that from their anonymous source that Chiasson was the injured party if that is the case if the fight will continue to do UFC will replace whoever is injured or the fight event will be totally scratch,

and after looking at Aspen Ladd Wikipedia they confirmed that the fight was really scrapped by UFC due to Chiasson Suffering an injury but no further report on what really happened.

I might update this prediction closer to the night:

Elise Reed (TKO)
Jordan Williams
Imavov
Brandon Allen
Randy Costa (TKO)
Cory Sandhagen (Points)

I'm going with Cory to win by points. I know that Dill is coming out of a lengthy lay off period, but I'm sure he won't have too much rust, and will be able to shake that off in the first few rounds. Cory could potentially take advantage of that rust in the first few rounds though, and might be able to score a knock out. Ultimately, I think it'll be a win for Cory with him dominating in the first few rounds, and then in the later rounds it'll be a little closer.

Weigh in has started.  And it’s Sandhagen first on the scale followed by Paiva, Belbita, Randy Costa then Ewell..  They all made weight.  And I have to say, Randy Costa looked really good.

Edit:  Just saw Yanez.  He looked good too but not as good as Costa.  I’m taking Costa for the Multi Master.  Grin
