^  Not sure but I think it was due to Sterling getting removed from the rankings at 135 as he's a 145'er now.

Yup, they moved him permanently so the 2nd place contender was void.

Pereira asked Dana in the interview if he could fight in 301 in Brazil emphasizing Hill didn't scratch him a bit, it would have been great if they had given him a spot. Maybe Amanda Nunes also, it all just needs a big offer they can't refuse. Aldo must have taken the offer. Aldo is still big in Brazil so UFC is still providing for the Brazilian demand to watch.

Agree that UFC 301 is missing something currently.
That was a bold request by Alex, but there's no way the UFC would go for that. He's got too big and too profitable to be casually thrown in into 2nd class event on such short notice.
Maybe if the sales were much lower than expected and they could find him some "safe" opponent, but very unlikely to happen.

There are talks about him moving to heavyweight to face Aspinall and frankly, I kind of like the idea. There aren't many good options right now for either Pereira or Aspinal within their weight classes. And Alex doesn't have much to lose, other than health from being brutally KOed by Tom, which is what would happen.

301 is an event in Brazil.  They're like gods over there so it's totally expected for these guys to express they're desire to fight in their home turf and in front of their supporters.  Bit even if the UFC would want to put him in there, who would be the opponent?  It's already hard to find one that would pique the fans' interest...

Anyway, here are some free fights to watch in case you guys want.  No UFC this weekend.  :/

Finally numerous Chandler kids are going to eat, get new iPhone and PlayStation 5 Cheesy Wife, dress up kids, no more Costco, Aldi or Foo4less, we are going to Erewhon Cool How long has he been unemployed? 2 years already? But enough jokes, as we have a problem here. Why Chandler odds are so low? Because after 2 losses, injury and a beating from Jake Gyllenhaal he has rose from the ashes like a phoenix, and now ready to jump into lightweight top? Cheesy

For sure both fighters will cash out enormous pay from their upcoming fight and for sure Michael Chandler can now provide something for his family I still think that he doesn't really need Conor McGregor for a fight but the addition of Connor McGregor to his publicity can surely make a big difference and impact it was like Conor McGregor is the real cash cow in this fight but as I have said Michael Chandler can still get his fight but not as successful as McGregor, and this new Weigh class is something new for both fighters.

UFC on ESPN: Nicolau vs. Perez

I miss all of UFC 300 and just rewatching most fight replays yeah this is surely 1 boring event but anyway, it is still a good shot for us to see and discover new upcoming fighters, and because I was really busy during the UFC 300 I was out of town with my family so I have no choice but to miss the big anniversary event for the UFC, but still, I surely want to still watch the action the replay action for the UFC 300 and the bits of what happened in that event.

It seems that On the UFC 300 Alex Pereira was kicked in the groan by Jamahal Sweet Dreams Hill but because he is ok with it and Herb Dean will likely stop the fight he stopped Ref Dean and said that he was OK and was eye-focused on the target and that was the History of Jamahal Hill as it was an awesome focus for Alex Pereira to knockout Jamahal Hill as many have said that the referee should stop the fight I really think Herb Dean done the right thing by not giving Jamahal Hill a chance to get back as Alex Pereira was the real deal focus on the fight it was really amazing.

^  Not sure but I think it was due to Sterling getting removed from the rankings at 135 as he's a 145'er now.

As for Poirier, the UFC is giving him his last shot to get the belt.  And imho, he deserves it after fighting a tough match up vs Benoit St Denis.  Everybody counted Poirier out in that one but he proved to be still in the running for a title shot.  He'll prolly retire after the match.

^  In the main event I think it's a tad early for Erceg to get a title shot.  But they have nobody else for Pantoja for the Brazil card.  And yeah...  Was surprised to see Aldo in there at the co main event.  Not sure why Aldo came back, he's prolly itching for a fight.  And it's in Brazil, so why not.  It will make the fans over there happy.  It will also be hilarious of he get KO'd or something.  Cheesy

As for things going bad for the UFC, maybe...  They now have serious competition after the PFL and Bellator merged.  Maybe we'll see Dana White out of the job soon.  Cheesy Cheesy

It will be more hilarious if he starts knocking people out, enter top and title race Cheesy I think we see him only because there are no more big Brazilian names left and ready, that havent fought recently. Wont be smart to add a lot of non-Brazilian fighters for an event that is held in Brazil. Get Spider Silva and Bigfoot Silva back Cheesy Add one Nogueira brother, Texeira, Dos Santos, Machida, Rua, Wanderlei and beat UFC 300 PPV sales Cheesy

You know I wouldn't say Aldo doesn't have a chance to KO Jonathan Martinez.  The guys seems chinny but dunno...  Can't help thinking he is after he got KO'd by Davey Grant.

Not every event will be full of an action pack like the 300 I guess. But they should just labelled this as a FN.

Can someone please explain what happened in bantamweight division that after UFC 300 everyone got +1 position in rating? Someone moved out from it? I cant spot who has left. Only Garbrandt and Figueiredo fought last week, but everyone moved up for 1 position.

Also I dont understand the following. Makhachev and Poirier are fighting on UFC 302, but it is said that the winner of that fight will fight Tsarukyan. Shouldnt it be different? From the side it looks like Tsarukyan is in profitable position here, while champ must be the one who is waiting for new opponent.

^  For the most part yeah...  Match ups I like are Tim Means vs Uros Medic, Lipski vs Karine Silva could be the best match up for the event.  Lol.  So good for you WMMA lovers.  I tend to avoid it from a betting perspective.  And Ryan Spann vs Bogdan Guskov will def be good.  I like Guskov as the underdog here.

That's about it.  :/

...  And the next PPV event isn't really that good either.  I think the UFC is pushing Steve Erceg a tad early to fight Pantoja.  But then again dunno...

This is an interesting one and their fight is really long-awaited fight, of course Makhachev and Strickland are each favorites in their fight.
(...)
I don't expect any surprise in Makhachev Vs Poirier (although who knows, Dustin is not going to go easy), but I wouldn't bet on Strickland.
I hope Sean wins but odds of x1.41 are just too low to bother. I expect it to be a close fight with Strickland winning by decission.

For McGregor himself, I hesitate to make him the favorite even though he is favored by the house but that doesn't mean he can win easily.
What more, he hasn't fought in the octagon for quite long time, making him find it more difficult to win.
It just that this remains great fight where McGregor, who was once one of the UFC best fighters, is back.
Yeah, I don't think I've seen a single mma commentator/analyst favouring McGregor. Not only has he had a long break, he has lost 3 out of his last 4 mma fights, winning only with post-prime Cerrone.
Chandler looked good even in his lost fights and have been training despite not having scheduled fights, while Conor was recovering from the injury, struggling to get in shape and was occupied with other activities like acting etc.

Odds are in for the 1st June, UFC 302 event:

Islam Makhachev x1.25 Vs Dustin Poirier x3.80

Sean Strickland x1.41 Vs Paolo Costa x2.80

And for the 22nd June, UFC 303:

Conor McGregor x1.85 Vs Michael Chandler x1.96

I think the payout rate for Chandler is very generous. Thoughts?

Pretty good opportunity so it is still worth betting on, the risk of losing is smaller, but if we wait later when the time is getting closer then we will only get relatively low odd.
I think making decision sooner is much better and this is an opportunity that is quite rare to get.

It's a really good rate for Michael Chandler. (...)

I know. I didn't expect to see more than x1.40 for Chandler, but it turns out McGregor is a slight favourite and that's something I don't quite understand.
Was there any recent sparring/training videos of Conor in which he looked really good or something? Or maybe it's the fact that Chandler has spent so long waiting for Conor that everyone expects him to be as rusty as McGregor?

Beats me, but I think I'll take this bet before the odds get corrected to where they should be.

It's a really good rate for Michael Chandler. There is Mc Gregor, who is in great shape and coming back from injury. It's very difficult to predict how he will fight at 77 kilos. It's a generous rate for Michael Chandler. I don't expect any surprises in the match between Islam and Dustin. Islam will dominate with his game. It doesn't matter if Dustin is standing or on the ground. I can't predict whether Paolo Costa will be able to make Strickland drop his high guard. Even though Costa is a strong shot, I don't think he has a weapon like Alex's left cross.

I don't know what to say, to be honest, I am speechless. I really believe Alex Pereira is crazy. That dude got kicked in the "unmentionable" area. Herb Dean tried to stop the fight for a moment and Alex Pereira pushed him aside and kept fighting. Right after that he knocked his opponent out. These things can only be done by crazy people. Of course, Hill missed some chances where he could not connect. If he did the outcome of the fight could have been very different.

Anyway, Alex Pereira was able to connect and was able to win the fight. In the end, he also did celebrations taunting Israel Adesanya. To be honest I expected better from Jamahal Hill. But anyway the knockout was definitely incredible. UFC 300 has given people a lot to talk about, to be honest. I think Pereira and Max Holloway might actually boost the popularity

I would better draw a red line to Hills right hand position and put numerous exclamation marks or add a warning sign. You know your opponent is known for finishing guy with left hook, you know he lands low kicks a lot. You protect body...

In next few seconds you are knocked down by left hook.

Wonder what was Hills game plan for this fight. 1) walk, stay slow, safe stamina 2) protect body 3) try to outstrike best striker and rely as much as possible on own speed 4)... 5) profit

Pereira in UFC. Debut > 2 fights > title fight and a victory > title loss > debut in light heavyweight > title fight and a victory. Give this guy to Ankalaev already.

Yup kinda good, as McGregor hasn't really fought in a long while after breaking his leg.  And he has been in a lot of prior engagements with his move role which I haven't seen yet.  Should prolly watch it soon.

Makhachev vs Poirier is whatever...  We know who wins.  Let's just hope they hype Poirier enough to make the line for Makhachev land at 1.35 or something.  That's a max bet imho.

As for Strickland vs Costa...  Pretty sure the pre fight press conference will be sooo hilarious.  Grin

UFC 300 delivered. I wonder how the PPV buys look likes. Plenty of great and exciting fights. But I actually thought Alex would get the performance of the night with his first round demolition on Jamalal Hill. Rather it was given to Max who who also took the fight of the night with Gaethji. Anyways, I would love to see Alex fight for a chance to make history by becoming a 3 division champion. Jones is old and inactive, while Alex is not young and he could be slower at heavyweight but it's a great fight for the 2 legends.

Have you really watched Pereira vs Hill and Holloway vs Gaethje fights ? It was more than expected that Pereira would knockout Hill with left hook. And Hill was most convenient opponent among all light heavyweights. That punch that landed Max, when it was 1 second left in the fight, I think it is going to be among knock out of the year. Dont forget that Max went one weight class up to face one of the top fighters and won. That is value more than a kickboxer, who has 40 fights, won in a kickboxing manner in a mma fight. The way Pereira knocked out Hill we have seen about 10-15 times already.

If Pereira really goes to heavyweights and faces Jones, he will get choked in one or two minutes. Trust me.

It was at the right moment when Hill was almost cornered, if Pereira allowed Herb to stop the fight due to his grouch, they would be back in the center again where there is a huge space for Hill to move around. Unfortunately for Hill, he was also hoping Herb to stop the fight lol seemed distracted so the hooker-up punch hit his cheek.

But Max certainly steals the show. He wouldn't even have to go to the center to rumble but he gave Gaethje the chance since Gaethje lost 4 rounds. Gaethje will lose by points anyway.

Not taking away from Holloway. He upset a lot of fans and it was obviously the fight of the night. He moved up in weight again and won. I actually thought Gaethji would be too strong for him. Maybe I am not giving it much credit like Alex since I don't see them both as capable of becoming champions at this stage of their careers.

I just thought Alex would win the performance of the night because he made a short work on Hill in an explosive fashion as well. It was a championship fight and it's not like Hill was a heavy underdog. I had a 1.62 bet on Alex. I know Alex can put anyone to sleep but Hill can hurt him too. I'd be glad to see Alex fight Jones next. I highly doubt slow Jones can choke Alex in 2 minutes. Grin
