@notblox1. Jose Aldo deserves it. I reckon that he won his fight against Marlon Moraes for the bantamweight title eliminator of December last year. Dana might be giving him his rightful share of opportunity.

Also, this news. Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva in a bareknuckle fight. Someone might die hehehe.

Dana White just announced that bantamweight title fight will probably be Petr Yan vs Jose Aldo for the vacant UFC.
Interesting for sure and I would watch that, crowd or no crowd.

What is the situation with Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor as i have seen social media news that Conor McGregor is going after the third title and Jorge Masvidal who was supposed to fight Kamaru Usman will be taking on Nate Diaz for a rematch. Are these fights confirmed or just bullshit news.
There were rumors that Conor McGregor will be fighting for the title but i do not think that the UFC will make that fight without the audience as he always attracts huge live gates around $15 to $20 million dollars and the UFC do not want to miss that.

Kamaru Usman is calling out McGregor but he is yet to respond anything publicly and if he is smart he will not take that fight now and rather fight Nate Diaz for the trilogy.

I just hope it won't be something like Adesanya vs Romero.  Lol.  Wrong move by giving Romero a chance imo.  Adesnya should've just waited it out til Costa could fight.
Romero is always a bad match up for anyone in the division as they know how powerful he is and Adesanya was more cautious on not getting hit by a train and Romero too pulled back and was never in the momentum throughout the fight, every round i was expecting now we will see some fireworks but it never happened and if he was waiting for Paulo Costa then it would have been a wrong move as his last fight was last year in UFC 241 and still he is not ready to compete.

^  But really..  His recent 'boring performances' were vs Thompson and Maia, who the former is a counter striker like himself and the latter a BJJ specialist.
I haven't watched enough replays of Burns yet to expect a boring match up.  Come to think of it, Burns could win if Woodley doesn't go full on aggro and push the pace himself.
The first two minutes of the fight will give you an idea about the game plan of Woodley, this is a hard spot for Woodley as this is the first fight after loosing his title and if he looses this fight then he will not be able to grab the title anytime soon and hence i think he will take this fight safe and it will be boring like Thompson and Maia fight.

It takes two to tango, there were many fights that we expected to be great never fulfilled, the recent examples are Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou who were heavy strikers and everyone expected a knockout but it turned out to be worst fights in history with the lowest punches thrown in history and then comes Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero which i thought to be a war but turned out to be a boring fight, Woodley was involved in many boring fights and if Burns could stay away from the punches in the first two rounds then there is a real chance that Burns could win the fight.

^  Hah!  We'll see...  He does need to sell the fight esp after the biggest loss of his life.  Wink  I just hope it won't be something like Adesanya vs Romero.  Lol.  Wrong move by giving Romero a chance imo.  Adesnya should've just waited it out til Costa could fight.
Woodley is yet to click with the fans as he always finds excuses for his boring performance and he had some good knockouts but that did not earn him the respect needed and if he could defend the belt for a few times then he would have considered a worthy contender for GSP, but with the loos i do not see that happening.

The problem i see is that, i have no idea the shape of Woodley and if he could perform like he used to do in the past he will win the fight standing and this fight does not have any huge hype behind it like the rest of the Woodley fights Grin.

Listen to Tyron Woodley on what he thinks about his fight with Gilbert Burns
He says he's planning to be "violent". One thing that made sense is that the fight will be for five rounds. It's not what Burns used to which is 3 rounds.
Tyron Woodley is doing too much stuff, music and television appearance and he is confident in winning the fight and so does his opponent, what Tyron Woodley is telling that he is really aggressive and he is cussing on his sparring partners to have that mentality and feel that is cringe on a different level  Cheesy. Looking at the experience level of Woodley i assume he could win standing up but this fight determines whether Tyron Woodley will be a title contender after the fight.

Tyron Woodley "Revenge" is slick.

Woodley should be easy money, the last times i bet on this fighter it brings some nice profit, so, let's see what he has for us on this event.
Is awesome to see how UFC moves on even with the big problem we are having right now around the world. Nice move from Dana White
I was thinking it is an easy fight for Tyron Woodley but after reading some of the conversation here and after having some research i have my doubts because this is the first fight Tyron Woodley returns after loosing his belt while his opponent was busy and pilling up experience and wins in the division and now Burns is in a position that he could get a title fight if he defeats Woodley. I need to see his weigh ins and mental status to predict this fight.

I might have missed Burns vs Maia.  Will try to have a look see if I could find that match somehwere online.

And it's all about stand up with Woodley...  Usually at least.  I don't think I've seen him shoot take downs as part of his main game at the UFC.
You are lucky as UFC published their fight Gilbert Burns vs Demian Maia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oafaEf0cqx0 in youtube  Wink.

Styles makes fights and Woodely is a decorated wrestler but he knows the danger if he takes down Gilbert Burns and the credentials i said about Gilbert Burns is he was a former  IBJJF champion as well Abu Dhabi Pro Champion which are the top grappling competition in the world. Going by the math which is really difficult in MMA i expect this to be a stand up fight.

PS: Only Nate Marquardt knocked Demian Maia out the other knockout loss was due to injury and Burns was his careers third knockout loss.

Antonina Shevchenko in women flyweight can be interesting to see.
Antonina Shevchenko is facing a tough fighter in Katlyn Chookagian and the fun part is she just fought the other Shevchenko sister in her last fight for the  Flyweight Championship and i have not seen Antonina Shevchenko against tough opponents and Chookagian will be her toughest opponent till date.

^  I don't know much about Burns but being a BJJ guy, the match could end up being like Woodley vs Maia...?  A borefest.
Gilbert Burns is a second degree BJJ specialist but in his recent fight against Demian Maia he knocked him out cold in the first round which i did not expect and when he faced Gunnar Nelson i though Gunnar Nelson would win but Burns surprised me with a decision win. I expect Woodley to try the stand up game because Burns is a submission specialist on the ground with legit grappling credentials.

But take note, we need to consider the adjustments he will do. Of course, Jon will become bigger thus becoming slower. We can't conclude that he can have the same speed and cardio when he finally enter the HW division lol.
If a fighter is not cutting any weight how come that will slow him down, he will be in the best shape of his life as he is not draining his body two days before the fight to cut the weight and it is not a disadvantage but an advantage.

It's different when you are just walking around and chillin' as a heavyweight than actually fighting. He's been fighting as LHW for years and any recent change in weight class would definitely affect how he fights in the octagon. At LHW, he can last for five rounds or even more and if he'll use the same pace as a HW in the octagon, that's going to affect his cardio. Not to mention the power of natural HWs have in their punches, it's going to wear him down if he gets hit.
It is not going to be easy when you are fighting in heavyweight but they are not that technically sound nor fast, fighting is always a mind game if you neglect the heavy punches which Jon Jones knows really well and stamina will not be an issue as i have seen him battle out many situations during championship rounds.

I agree Shevchenko will have a huge problem with Chookagian even though Shevchenko is the favorite between the two Chookagian has a great exemption with position to bounce back I see a lot of power with Chookagian that Antonina Shevchenko will get in trouble but Katlyn Chookagian likes to keep it on the feet and she is having issues when it goes to the ground I think that Shevchenko is looking for submission again but if Chookagian will let her take that position.
