I am going to lock this thread because of off topic discussion. My question was to theymos. However what Inunderstand, most of merit source are receiving low amount of smerit. So they can't spend more even they want unless they haven't received form others.

But it's true few merit source never care much about their smerit even it will decay or not. Theymos strongly encourage that spend your merit before refill date. Nevermind you didn't high quality post. Just send it on good post.

In my opinion, if a merit source can't spend enough merit before refill date then he should look on his previous merited post. Send merit into them again. It's better then decay. Theymos will not punish for that and he encourage for that. Or send to other active merit source or good poster so that they will spread over forum.

My suggestion is, please don't decay merit only for opinion  that you can't find good post according to you. That's not enough reason to decay merit. Just handover it to others who will not misuse.

But they don't have enough time to do that, since they are sticking with the drama threads on Meta and reputation sections. Cheesy

I spend time on Meta because there is a paucity of quality posting on the other boards ( in my opinion ). I've tried to stimulate them, butit seems that the regular members are spending their time on Meta, or spamming their bounties. Start some good discussions, and persuade us to spend time there.

Take it easy on merit sources...  You've got to read A LOT of posts on this forum in order to honestly merit hundreds of them.  Kudos to those who have been able to keep up a hog wild pace for more than a year now.

Well to get back on topic. The centre bearing on the prop shaft of my van is breaking up. It's a large high top, but it isn't a very difficult job. I'm not sure if my favourite garage will take on the job, and I was tempted to do it myself, but if I hit a problem then I can see the van ending up immobile.

So what has this to do with merit sources? I posted it to show that merit sources do have real lives with real problems, and these may lead to them having to take short term breaks from the forum. I'll make up for my possible absence by awarding a bunch of merits this afternoon.

Make sure you don’t give cryptohunter any Cheesy Wink

Of course not  he only cycles them to who he is told to cycle them too.  They are primarily the persons on the OP or they send to him.

He is too scared to give them to anyone that would attract scorn from his masters.

Or merit begging shit posting sig spammers like you.

Just take a look at his top fans and receivers. You will see plenty there from the op in my political posting thread

I was thinking of sending him the old bearing. I think he may have lost his bearings here.

Do you not get bored of the repetition?

Might be he is having very advanced test spinner or paraphrasing machine so that machine changed the same paragraph in 100 different ways and all looking unique on their own (as far wording is concerned.)
I guess your (cryptohunter) skills/machine is highly sought by users who are getting banned for plagiarism.

Another fool plastering some mixing or betting crap all over the board pretending to make some valid posts.

Get out of meta into the discussion boards for 5 mins. You'll feel better once your brown nose starts to dry out.

People that are weak and pathetic are just as damaging and the tyrants they support. Keep that in mind.

Find the incorrect information that I provide and highlight it. If you can not and it is the truth that pushes for a fairer system either help push for a fairer system or just remain silent.

I am not sure he is using any tool for making those long big articles on every post he was making,if it is then he will get banned for text spinning right?

So if he is uniquely making all those posts then we need to give him a trophy for his efforts for writing those articles. Cheesy

1/2 the sources are gone

they dont want shit to do with the mafia here and are scared to speak up and have their reps ruined so they left
more and more old timers leaving : /

oh well, the gambling sig mafia dont care, they get paid either way, this place is theirs now

Do you hear voices in your head, do you have extreme paranoia? There is no mafia, the sooner you learn that the better. The people you see moaning about similar things are shit posters/spammers/scammers/untrustworthy & they deserve to be outed.

Keep your head down, follow the rules, post constructively, be nice to people & you’ll never have to worry about any supposed forum mafia.

Ignore this person who is observably  merit begging shitposting untrustworthy  scoundrel.

Jetcash - "im going to start a 1000 earned merits (for cyclers only "
Lfc_bitcoin - " I want 1000 earned merits please"
Jetcash  " here is 5 for you right there for your shit begging and sig spamming post"
Lfc_bitcoin " no problem I like cycling merits its fun"

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.49692389

Tells you to be nice to people whilst accusing you of having voices in your head and accuses you of being either a shitposter, scammer or  untrustworthy. Perhaps all 3.

Tells you keep your head down - then you don't need to worry

So... stop raising valid and observable issues else you will have to worry about the "supposed" mafia?

How about you shut up and remove your  betting sig -- that he correctly observed that most of the "mafia" are spamming everywhere whilst cycling merits. Red trusting anyone who dares present facts regarding their wrong doing/ their attempted bullying tactics.

Also try to make some kind of post that is worth reading for you merits. I can not locate one original thought inspiring contribution from you or one major achievement that changed anything on this board for anyone else at all. In fact you are a complete waste of space as far as i can see.

In case of my local board, it is said that there are three Merit sources, but only one of them is sending Merit. He sent 42 sMerits (Jan 2019), 10 sMerits (December 2018), 10 sMerits (November 2018), 67 sMerits (October 2018), and the other two are zero. I do not know exactly who Merit sauces are, but perhaps I think they have not sent Merit in the last few months.

I think work of Merit source on our local board is very hard, because the number of posts on our board is quite small. For example, there are only 29 posts so far in February.

I award merits where I want to, and I don't award them just to empty my merit bag. ( although I keep it fairly low, and I have to use my personal sMerits to award the bonuses).  If it was decided that I didn't award merits fast enough, or I was punished because I had to stay away for some reason, then all it would achieve would be to deprive the posters that I would have awarded .

-snip-
I think this would be counterproductive.

If the problem you are trying to address here is that there are not enough merits being given out by the merit sources (a proposition with which I disagree), then punishing them for taking a few days off and removing their source sMerits makes the problem worse rather than better. Sources are not rewarded for being sources or for handing out merits - removing their sMerit supply does not punish them, it only punishes the users who would be missing out on receiving said merits.

The thread is barely alive. Averagely there's less than a post reported everyday and only few users who submit report.
My bad, I didn't check it for a long time. In that case, sending all of their sMerit/source merit to an trusted active user would be good.
Theymos should make some criteria for the eligibility of being merit source. User have to be active one/two or three days in each period. Otheriwise, he will not get smerit for next period. It should be since theymos wants merit sources to spend their source merits.

IIRC, user d5000 used to get 10 source merits only. He told it in somewhere in Merit and New requirements thread, I was engaged with that post.
I am on the list just because I spent all of my sMerits couple of weeks ago in one day through the help of LoyceV's self moderated threads for quality posts. Usually I were used to spend 1/2 sMerits per post.
It's not a matter, some people don't have enough time to spend here. They are busy with real life works. Although, I think they should not be choosen as merit source, you have to also consider the fact that not everyone can be merit source because they may manipulate or engage with buy/sell merits.
In my opinion, since LoyceV has a good thread where members report some good posts, merit source who are busy with real life, can check that thread and spend merits on those post OR send all the sMerit to some active merit sources or active members like coolcryptovator (although I never got a merit from him just because of his false feeling, lol).

I'm pretty much there too. My source sMerits are gone within 24 hours of them being replenished. My personal sMerit stash is usually sitting around 5 to 10 depending on how active I've been/how many merits I've earned myself over the last week or so. I struggle to spend myself down to 0 - when I hit 2 or 3 I tend to not merit anything at all until I am replenished/earn more, just in case someone posts something absolutely amazing and I find myself out of sMerits.

As a member of bitcointalk i always tried my best to give smerits to someone who actually working for the forum. Yeah its really a matter of sorrow that when you find an amazing post and don't find any smerits left Cry

I beleive after the begining of merit system users are much connected and active with forum than ever. Its because earning merits is the only way to build your rank up here. Basically we can only send merits to someone when we will get it from anyone else. Its a complete circle system.

That's why who's are in the merit source list are really  important for continuing this smerits circle system. If we can't get merits from them than we will not be able to send it to others. So their activity matters a lot here IMO.
