You've done nothing wrong, but it appears that you don't have a coterie, so merit will take it's own time; also don't slip up carelessly; people out here are far too jealous to digest an objective honest review. They'll neg you without thinking twice and then call you all sorts of name to avoid reasonable arguments, while they wouldn't even criticize far worse actions by people who are in their pack.
Remember, probity is the best wisdom, but it rarely does the individual any good.

Thanks mate for all these kind words. I believe in my decency. I also realise that most of the time the odds can be against me. But it does not matter however I do take extra care. This is why I always believe in 2nd chance . It's a risky business to be dutiful to a community by being really ethical, those who will not agree with you they will attack you always with whatever they can. They will try to stop you. But I have nothing to lose here. I want to do something good for the community.

I love the concept of decentralisation and Blockchain.

Dude you should be focused on yourself and stop trying to figure out why some peeps are getting more merits than others as people give merits based on how moved they are by a given post. You can't tell people whom they should or shouldn't merit. It's their merit and entitled to their gifting. The merit system is flawed and I think you can't do much about it.

What am I doing wrong?

Clearly merit farming/trading is happening.

While I understand why you are upset with someone cheating, aren't there more important things going on with this forum? How is this getting so much prime attention when hundreds of millions of dollars worth of scams have gone through this forum with people being ripped off every day.
- I am not sure if there are any requirements of being 18 and 18+ to join this forum. If not then there should be. If you do not spend your money with responsibility then what can other do? You are an adult and you live with the choice you make.

PS: Merit is a big deal for this forum. I'm sure you are missing something here.

A lot of you seem to want to red trust people for abusing merit.

I did my research on "trust" for this forum. It seems very important. Merit, however, does not seem very important.

It appears to me that someone who had multiple accounts (and who made tons of posts with those accounts), was trying to add to his merit and now you want to bust him.

There are so many of these threads in "Meta". So many wannabe FBI agents up in here.

I have spend almost last 24 hours to read only two posts on the forum. One about alia and another one about aTriz. Here I am thinking I have now a proven point to claim that I was right at the time of writing the original post.

After reading both posts above, it's obvious that alia was literally fooling everyone even, theymos. So in my OP if you get an impression about nullius giving alia merits for her (his, their or whatever doesn't even matter) so called relevant and high quality posts then it's obvious that nullius was just a victim like other especially aTriz.

The strategy from alia was really very simple. She (he, they etc) simply targeted few highly reputable members like aTriz, Lauda, TMAN, Foxpup and others, not to mention nullius, made a circle around them and started taking benefit of the human weakness (Trust).

Great job scam_detector  Grin

PS: I was in vacation since last 3rd March so I really do not have much update about the forum. I will move my focus after posting this thread.

They are weak when it comes to pussy. if you have one, show it on camera and get merits. probably I would've be sending out hundreds of merits to alia if I had that many. (actually not, despite being a loser virgin, I'm not weak against girls, that's because I haven't jumped one yet. maybe experiencing matrimonial intercourse, could develop a weakness in me).

3. nullius is hardly a "higher ranked" member, he's super new to the forum, as am I.

5. nullius and I are both open haters of people who exchange merit for favours, money. etc. - I have been offered merit points for favours/money multiple times, and I have declined every time.

nullius puts a great deal of time and effort into his posts, and when they're written about me, you can understand why I'd want to give him merit. People like him, who provide posts filled with content and backed with evidence, are the reason that I come here.

How long have you and nullius been married? Sounds like a great relationship!

I'm kidding....mostly.

I suggest you start making quality posts (and stop trying to make money from link shorteners), and then you'll understand.

This is the reason all of us should be here. Thanks for rewarding those that give us so much.

I just came here because of your clickbait title. I just read through the thread, and this is all I have to say:

Stop trying so hard to earn merit. Your post history is worse than decent, and although the quality has been getting better recently (meaning the past few weeks), it's an obvious ploy to try to earn more Merit (keyword: obvious). I'd just like to point out the fact that I (and more than likely others) do not tend to merit posts that are obviously looking for merit.

Contribute something more natural to conversation. Take time to partake and engage in topics that are relevant and topical to Bitcoin. If you don't know what people are talking about in the topic, do a little Google search and try to gain knowledge on the subject matter, and then ask questions that show genuine interest. If your post is genuine, it will show through; especially if we can see that you've taken the time to be a part of a larger conversation rather than just contributing to megathreads.

Give yourself some time and explore the vast sea that is this forum. Get involved, and make some friends.

But do NOT post passive aggressive topics that turn into sucking up to others. That's the vibe I'm getting from you in this thread. It's unnatural, forced, and quite frankly, awkward as hell.

the problem with this people, they are envious to others that have granted merits, they pulled you down when you have been merited, rank is not a basis if it is highly deserves a merit or not, some newbies have better posts and of quality than higher ranked members, rank is just a laddered system, all high ranked members started as newbies. merits is just a part of that system. if 2 persons are giving each other merits, maybe you should look at their posts and not just the merit exchange, regardless of their ranks.

I
You seem to have forgotten that merit between two people cannot be given infinitely, because merit is scarce.

- Is that a trick you apply when you encounter someone... "You seem to have forgotten", "I understand that you are not capable of such posts - maybe one day" and etc...?

I guess we both know what we are doing here. I'm not out to change the world nor to wreck it either.

Let's continue with your given numbers... You both have now 15 Merits each and 2.5 sMerits. You can giveaway 2 each. That makes gaining 1 more sMerits each. So again you can giveaway 1 each and now you both again get 0.5 sMerit each. That adds up with the leftover 0.5 sMerit and make 1 sMerit again. Now give each other this 1 sMerit. What do you have now...

19 Merits and 0 sMerits each. Means your initial 10 Merits just turned into 19 merits.

Do you see from 5 sMerits each, you both were able to accumulate 9 more Merits each just because you wanted to exchange the merits with each others?
If you were not in exchange mood then you would be given your initial 5 sMerits to some random good posts and in return we don't know what would you get. This is how someone can manipulate merit system if two person decides to give merits each others to gain advantage.

But this is not my point here and you also clearly know what I wanted to say when I said, "...receive merits from each others for infinite times".
You are just trying to exaggerate the topic.

We all know you and nullius are making good post. I never ignored it. What I said is this, "...no doubt that nullius has a good biased mind for alia".

I agree with what you pointed out, Pharmacist. Newcome users should try improving their English skills first, reading and writing skills in particular. The simple reason is if they can not understand what they read in the forum, they can not discuss, help other users for sure. Writing skill is important when they want to express their original ideas into words, phrases, sentences.
I have seen lots of users in the forum (mostly came from Newbies and Junior Members) posted broken-English threads. I am not sure they came from spammers, who usually using Google translate for their daily boring works; but mostly came from them.
I also hope that merit system will completely eliminate those users out of the forum forever.

When nullius is really going at it, his posts are so good they become harder to understand for non-native English speakers
You nailed it on the head, bro.  No-reading-required shitposters have very limited English vocabularies, so I think a lot of what nullius writes sails right over their unwashed heads most of the time.  They certainly can't appreciate why exactly it is that he's gotten so much merit.

I've given out merits to a lot of different users here, and not just to those who are higher ranked.  In fact, I've made it a point to limit the number of merits I give out to legendary members, since they don't really "need" them.  The problem is, and always has been, that bitcointalk is flooded with noob shitposters who don't understand English and don't put any thought into their posts.  The good posts--often by Hero/Legendary members, get silenced amid the roar of garbage posts.  So if it seems like noobs aren't getting a lot of merit, it's true; they're not.  They are in general the least deserving of it, IMO

I guess for two persons, giving merits should have a limit and also receiving merits should have a limit or the same two user can give and receive merits from each others for infinite times. Someone with having a bad intention can easily take this advantage.

I also think sending sMerit in one transaction (one go i mean) should have a limit. I saw people sent 50 sMerits. This is just too much. May be 1 or 2 sMerit should be good for a post no matter if thats even the worlds  best content.

I really did not expect to find anything at all. To me, it was just a pattern when I saw you have sent 6 times merit to the same person https://prnt.sc/ijjfox
The only pattern is that some people, unlike most of the shitposters on this forum, are capable of making multiple meritorious posts (there are currently 15 people who have each had multiple posts merited by me; alia isn't alone in that respect). Those same people also tend to receive merit from multiple senders, since most people who have sMerit to spend tend to agree on what kinds of posts deserve merit.

I also doubt you'll get very far by sucking up to the top merit senders (I can tell you it won't get you anywhere with me).

- This is really what I do not like about merit system. You are literally saying receiving merit for my content is favour from you! Don't you think I should receive merits for my contents not to make you happy since you are merit sender? This is abusive in my opinion.

I really do not expect to find anything from nullius as well. It's just 21 times sending merits to the same person seems odd to me on top of it receiving 20 merits from the same person you gave 23 merits can bring up two reasons...

1. You are intentionally exchanging merits to each others. More correctly I will say, you are liking each others contents so much that you took this merit points to favour each others. There are other people on the forum giving their best deserves your sMerits.
2. Both account owned by same person. I don't think this will be really the real case coz both alia and nullius are creating good contents. For one person it's really impossible managing multiple accounts with providing good contents.

Of course not. I don't play favourites. - Yes sir I guess I did! This is how merit system is working, begging and pleasing others etc etc

just documenting that you admitted to attempted to pass a virus, and begging for merit.......
- I already explained it in here. I think you missed it.

Not sure about the higher ups, but since the first link is to COINHIVE I ain't to happy with you!  (I did not click through)

just documenting that you admitted to attempted to pass a virus, and begging for merit.......
- Not virus to be honest. It was coinhive a kind of link shortener (like google URL shortener) which helps to min XMR from the shorted link when user visits your targeted link. I already said I removed it.

1. Believe it or not, it is actually possible for a one-sentence post to be meritorious. I understand that you are not capable of such posts - maybe one day.
- I believe you. Sometimes one-word could be meritorious if that hits the cause. By the way how come you say I am not capable of such posts LOL. Ain't trying to prove too much?

2. Your Coinhive link is a bit fucked up, it made my laptop heat up a lot. Please remove that, as it is 100x more unethical than what you accuse me of doing.
-Apology and removed it already. So you are saying you are doing unethical stuffs? Don't get me wrong, you are not doing anything unethical you are just taking the benefit of the system in a smart way.

3. nullius is hardly a "higher ranked" member, he's super new to the forum, as am I.
-Yes he is. He is a good essay writer too. Somehow in this forum people think if you are capable of writing a long essay then you are a good writer and you deserve merits.

4. Humans are subjective creatures - I am not a merit source, I am a person, so if I like a post and find it to be informative/well-written, I will award it merit. I find most of nullius's posts to be both informative and well-written; a rarity on this forum.
- I have nothing to say for this 16 merits you sent https://prnt.sc/ijhtz4 (16! come on!! Didn't I say that somehow in this forum people think if you are capable of writing long essay then you are a good writer)

I suggest you start making quality posts (and stop trying to make money from link shorteners), and then you'll understand.
- Thank you for the advice I hope you will take some times and try to read some of my past posts. Again my apology for the link shortening which I already removed.

He doesn't just write essays, he writes good essays. Find any reasonable member who thinks his essays are not good, and I'll owe you a BJ.

No, if you think begging is the way to receive merit, then you have completely misunderstood its point.
- I guess you misjudged my humour  Grin I was teasing you when I said so. I completely understand why the merit system introduced at the first place and I am doing my best to play according to the game.

Nice analysis!

1. Believe it or not, it is actually possible for a one-sentence post to be meritorious. I understand that you are not capable of such posts - maybe one day.

2. Your Coinhive link is a bit fucked up, it made my laptop heat up a lot. Please remove that, as it is 100x more unethical than what you accuse me of doing.

3. nullius is hardly a "higher ranked" member, he's super new to the forum, as am I.

5. nullius and I are both open haters of people who exchange merit for favours, money.

It's not just me - he's in the list of top merit receivers for a reason. I suggest you start making quality posts (and stop trying to make money from link shorteners), and then you'll understand.

This post surely will upset some of the higher ranked members.

The merit system needs to be improved or the forum will suffer because of the biased activities of higher ranked members those have enormous amount of sMerits to favour others

This is how I discovered it... I made a post yesterday on the meta section thought to provide some value for the forum. I get it, this was very poor of me. I was fucked up and out of my fucking mind or why the hell I would do that? Click here for the post.

Reply got so far...

https://prnt.sc/ijgmdk (I have the humour it's a joke, thanks, no heart feeling)
https://prnt.sc/ijgmzv (good one, thanks for the advice, appreciate it)
https://prnt.sc/ijgnfu (sorry if i ruined it, i am a dumb ass, please excuse me, yeah right!)
https://prnt.sc/ijgnxz (I guess you need a break as well)
https://prnt.sc/ijgozz (looks like I am sanctimonious prig  Shocked )
https://prnt.sc/ijgp8e (  Roll Eyes )
Then i received this comment ( Click here to read the full comment not just screenshot like above ) from nullius. I was surprised first to see the loooonggg essay then I read it full. well-done by the way for this long post and thank you for the changed title for me in your local language I guess. I figured out from google that it means this https://prnt.sc/ijgs65

I am not sure if this was really necessary or not. I started researching the account and found a lot of members really respect the account holder. I started to take the blame to myself thinking well, yeah leave it, I made a mistake writing the post at the first place. Then I saw this reply ( https://prnt.sc/ijgt6u ) from Alia

Now this struck me... Jr. Member, Activity: 42, Merit: 105, Posts: 350!!!

No doubt this account holder is giving everything for this forum. Account created on January 28, 2018. Not even one month and the account already made 350 post and earned 105 merit! Low ranked member like me, this account is an ideal account to research.

These are the merit source for this account

So without any doubt I wanted to see the special connection with nullius, TMAN, Foxpup, PoolMinor, Hatcher, favours, Rmcdermott927 and The Pharmacist for alia since they have given 23, 16, 10, 8, 6, 5, 5, 4 sMerits respectively.

I was more interested to see whats going on with nullius, TMAN, Foxpup since they have given the sMerits 21, 2 and 6 times respectively (I ignored 3 times from LoyceV and 2 times from The Pharmacist coz it's too much to do).

I found nothing with TMAN, Foxpup but for nullius, this is what alia sent...
nullius205times

So when I found alia sent 20 sMerits to nullius and in return alia received 23 merits from nullius, I wanted to see the detail posts on those alia received merits from nullius. I categories them into 3 category.

Category 1: Perhaps worth getting merit
1 Merit for a good humorous post https://prnt.sc/ijfxuw
1 Merit for another good post https://prnt.sc/ijfyam
1 Merit for another may be good reply https://prnt.sc/ijfz9e
1 Merit for really good writing https://prnt.sc/ijfznh
1 Merit for another humorous reply https://prnt.sc/ijg32s
1 Merit for an average reply https://prnt.sc/ijg475
1 Merit (may be) for another average reply https://prnt.sc/ijg7v4
1 Merit for a really well done reply https://prnt.sc/ijg9r8
1 Merit may be a good reply https://prnt.sc/ijga7y ( Wait!!! Is this looking odd? https://prnt.sc/ijgbjo )
1 Merit for a good post (no doubt) https://prnt.sc/ijgc1i
1 Merit for an average reply https://prnt.sc/ijge98

Category 2: Questioned!!!
1 Merit for writing only one line! https://prnt.sc/ijfwkj
1 Merit for writing another line! https://prnt.sc/ijfypm
1 Merit for writing another few lines https://prnt.sc/ijg1qi
(The original post was alia's though but do you see merit from TMAN https://prnt.sc/ijg19c ? 6+10=16 merit)

1 Merit again do doubt it raise question https://prnt.sc/ijg93h Am i missing something? See the thread title  Cheesy
1 Merit again for one line reply https://prnt.sc/ijgels please i really really need a break!  Angry

Category 3: Could not find the post so we really don't know what was there
1 Merit for a deleted post https://prnt.sc/ijg3oj

I guess I know the secret: On February 16, 2018, 10:57:08 PM ( https://prnt.sc/ijgg6i ) nullius first encountered alia's this post https://prnt.sc/ijfxuw
the post was a very good humorous post which immediately made nullius a fan of alia's. Then on top of it when alia send 16 merits ( https://prnt.sc/ijgfqn ) to nullius on the same day just in few mins difference (February 16, 2018, 11:00:10 PM) then no doubt that nullius has a good biased mind for alia.

This is what I learnt now after carefully watching alia's account. No doubt alia is doing a great job. The account holder knows his/her shit so account like this will keep receiving more merits.

Keep good relationship with higher ranked members, try your best to post some quality posts and always remember those higher ranked members, sMerits will come on your way.

PS: I guess i should forget about getting sMerits and thinking about getting ban from this forum after publishing this post  Grin
This post surely will upset some of the higher ranked members.

EDIT
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I changed the title "Thin (!!!) strategy to earn more Merit" to "Thin (!) strategy to earn more Merit - Drama Queen (aka alia) busted Finally!!!"

If we carefully give sMerits each others and do not abuse it (some ideas are here) then merit system is really doing great work.

PS: Any idea how to remove a red trust since alia sent me a red trust without any actual evidence whatsoever.
