My AR-15 ID's itself as a toaster. Want breakfast?
I been for days reading all posts related and I would like to thank you all for all the great info you're sharing here.
*truncated*

I think I'm going to start with this:

PSU x1: EVGA-220-P2-1600W
GPU x3: Nvidia 1080 GTX TI
CPU x1: Intel-BX80662G4400-Pentium-LGA1151
MEM x1: Kingston-KVR21N15S8
MB x1: ASRock-Z270-Pro4
*truncated*

Id suggest a cheap SSD (60Gb), and at least 6Gb of ram for the system; especially if you are doing win 7/10.

The comments above are very relevant as well =)

RX570 pulse are available in EU for 180euros.
This is the same as the cheapest RX470 currently available.
Good deal ?

seems to me if you don't want to flash them  and don't like to flash  you would be okay.

but if you flash bios  right now you need a new driver and it will check the signature  and not let the card work well if you flash it.

This new cards will make flashing a p.i.t.a  for 1 week 1 month 6 weeks  who knows.  most likely    a month of not being very flashable or maybe  a little less

does the 180 euro includes VAT ? if it does include, then it's a VERY good deal.

i'd go for rx 470 if you want a better hash per dollar for time being. be it to flash or not to flash still better in terms of ETH, for dual mining the rx 5xx series seems to get a better speed.

sorry i forgot to take note on stock. plugged in, saved a backup of original bios & flash away LoL.

vg, looks like your parcel is at customs. i would speaking to the courier company again. they do suck a little ! grrrr

no issues with bios sig chk at all if you know what you are doing or how to do it.

flashing will not be difficult same as above if you know what you are doing. i have flashed these 2 new cards at least 10 times or more each to get them to reach those speeds including stability & also used 4xx stuffs on a 5xx, no problem they work for "normal" use & may not be suitable for mining though.

on the topic of flashing, maybe OP & others may have some bad experience hence prefers to stick to stock bios which has its own advantages especially when it comes to single bios gpus, if screwed up, might not be able to fix it or to claim for warranty. But for my case it maybe a little different, i do this all the time & have done much research, reading & so on. Even if i do flash it wrongly & bricked the gpu, i do still have a very good chance to claim warranty or if not, i am willing to take the risk & to write off the gpu that i bricked. In this case for these 3 gpus i received, i was pretty fortunate & lucky, they are "sponsored" samples.

everything has risks, so make your own wise decision & do read up as much as possible.

i'd say just wait a little for now as more & more people will have them in their hands pretty soon & more discoveries to come soon.

nope SMOS won't help even on a flashed BIOs, i did send a screenshot to someone, same gpu, same bios, on SMOS i used the possible lowest setting, it works but runs a little slower than win & the power consumption is abt 20W higher than win. i'd say most likely at the time i was testing there was no official driver released by amd for any platform. so probably it could be a driver related problem ? not sure, that probably you guys can let tytanick know abt it so he can upgrade SMOS. But imho, win has more control over fine tuning especially power settings so more power can be saved using win for now. but linux is definitely more stable, it's ok i have my own Mining Control Center (MCC) similar to SRR so offsite or remote reboot is ok.

found it : SMOS vs Win10 Both are using same GPU on RX 570 4 GB

SMOS & off the wall power (not very clear pic on the LEFT but it says avg of 24.8mhs ETC & 747mhs DCR)

Win10 & off the wall power

STOCK RX 580 8GB in LEFT & RIGHT is BIOS modded + some underclocking on the core

as for now, i just installed latest driver & a bit of tweaking both gpus have increased a little more speed & shaved some watts off.

ok, i think this maybe be my last post with spammy pix + long posts & looks like OP is gonna open another new thread (sorry for spamming). prolly fewer posts from me in the future over here. have fun all & happy mining Wink OP you may DEL as needed.

GPU0 is the Pulse RX570 4GB & GPU1 is the RX580 8GB, both 570 4GB from Sapphire & gigabyte are ELPIDA & the 580 8GB are SAMSUNG, did not run the Gigabyte RX 570 4GB too much just these 2.

The RX 570 4GB is about 20'ish Watts lower than the RX 580 8GB off the wall, managed to shave some watts from both of them & atm the RX 580 8GB is pulling approx 208W off the wall inclusive of mobo, g3250 cpu, 4gb ddr3 ram & ssd.

Happy mining to all & i'm sure more developments will come for the RX 5xx series soon. oh btw, i tested them on SMOS, yes they do run on SMOS but unfortunately SMOS consumes more power than Win10 so atm Win10 is leading for now.

yeps, BIOS are modded.

Hashrate from picture is with modded GPUs as I understand. Did you try with stock bios too ?

About SMos power consumption , what setting did you use ? (powerstage)

Yeah Part 4!!!

Profitability on ZEC currently is good.

I think we can ride this wave for at least 1-2 more months due to promising ZEC forks around the corner.

The NVIDIA ZEC rigs will be making us decent mullahs and also achieve lower power consumption.

3-4 x GPU rigs should be the sweet spot since the cards are high end and expensive too.

After sales market for 1080Tis are also looking good so perfect for Phil's strategy.

on amazon the rx 580 8gb is 279

the rx 480 8gb is 270.

I obviously  would not expect  to   220 with free shipping to all 50 states for each one .

But  would want  a decent amount for them   maybe 210 each

410 if you get 2
600 if you get 3.

600 is a lot lower then paying  750 or 800 for 3 new.

I  would want to leave this up as a feeler to see if I am priced fairly.
my cards were never flashed
I run them under 70c
All of them are under 5 months old.

after these ¾ go I will move out my asus strix rx 480 8gb.
I think I have 4 of them zero mods backplates are in place.
I want to be all nvidia by may 31st.

I won't be getting any rx 570's or rx 580's I will save room for vega's

Hello people!!

I been for days reading all posts related and I would like to thank you all for all the great info you're sharing here.

I always been thinking about having my own setup and after reading you it's like I feel ready to spend some cash and atleast give it a try and see how it works.

I'm from Spain, Europe, and some pieces of the gear you recommend along this threads are out of stock and there's no way of obtaining them, especially the MSI Z270 board and ASROCK BTC.
So I still don't know what motherboard I could take (I just choose one, but I think it's too expensive and there should be something cheaper), some advice would be really appreciated.

I think I'm going to start with this:

PSU x1: EVGA-220-P2-1600W
GPU x3: Nvidia 1080 GTX TI
CPU x1: Intel-BX80662G4400-Pentium-LGA1151
MEM x1: Kingston-KVR21N15S8
MB x1: ASRock-Z270-Pro4

Somehow if I end up seeing it good and my thoughts are to try to finish the first rig with 6x nvidia 1080 gtx ti, that's why I take that PSU. And also took nvidia for power saving, noise, heat, assorment of algorithms and the most important thing, being capable of outpowering any other gpu in the market.

What are your thoughts for starting and give it a try? Would you change something? Like going RX 580 instead of Nvidia? Motherboard?
Any minor detail to save some money? Smiley

Thanks again and sorry if there's any mistake since my english is not perfect.  Grin

Here is another one from China who ships risers to Europe, I just ordered 6: http://www.ebay.com/itm/152487264602?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

ASRock H81 pro btc I had a lot of issues with it. It doesn't boot every time, you have to connect a monitor to it to boot... and so on...

finally back from AMD Ryzen Official Launch, here are some pics *some i could not post them before the launch*

Enjoy !

got some AMD welcome gift goodies

probably stuffs that we already know but it was good info

true enough, here comes the latest drivers from AMD, it is OUT now for the RX 5xx Series folks, before ONLY the Press version are available. *There is BIOS signature check*

here it is, some have seen this from me personally & now i can post it out, courtesy of local distributors, Sapphire sent them (Pulse RX 570 4GB) directly to my home when i was on my way out to Gigabyte to collect the 570 4GB + RX 580 8GB G1 Gaming Series.

the gigabyte ones looks 100% except the sticker which tells you if it's a RX4xx or a RX5xx gpu but for the "Pulse" it's almost the same but it comes with a fancy backplate & NO Led's. Both have a single 8pin PCIE power connector except for Pulse the location is on top now, no more at the butt near to heatsink & hot air !

GPU0 is the Pulse RX570 4GB & GPU1 is the RX580 8GB, both 570 4GB from Sapphire & gigabyte are ELPIDA & the 580 8GB are SAMSUNG, did not run the Gigabyte RX 570 4GB too much just these 2.

OP package has landed at NY city Gateway, should reach you soon. Hope you like it. Apologies for the delay again, much to handle over here.

I think I'm going to start with this:

PSU x1: EVGA-220-P2-1600W ---------------  Evga 1300 g2    this is much lower cost and really is a better choice for 3 1080ti gpus

GPU x3: Nvidia 1080 GTX TI   ----------------   okay

CPU x1: Intel-BX80662G4400-Pentium-LGA1151 --- okay    can you find g4560t or g4600t

MEM x1: Kingston-KVR21N15S8 ---- okay

MB x1: ASRock-Z270-Pro4 -------- can you find this ?  https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GA-Z270P-D3-Crossfire-Motherboard-Motherboards/dp/B01N2V0AHI/ref=sr_1_1?

don't do 6 card rig  not with the 1080ti's

they are very expensive two three card rigs better in this case.

also you will need a riser although the board I linked can do 3 cards  you want space  so this ebay seller is a member on this forum

tell him I recommended you.  he ships from usa and from hong kong  I think he would be able to send you some.. order like 4 or 6  as they are cheap  and extra is good to have.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?

welcome to the forum!

MB x1: ASRock-Z270-Pro4
GPU x3: Nvidia 1080 GTX TI

my thoughts are to try to finish the first rig with 6x nvidia 1080 gtx ti

that motherboard only has 2 16x pcie slots. you would need a usb riser for the 3rd initial card.

also it only has 3 pcie x1 slots so 5 cards would be your total later (3 on risers in the x1 slots, 2 on the mobo in the 16x slots)

not sure where you can order risers where you are but someone else should  provide links to what i mean shortly.

other than that i have no other useful comments, sorry.
