This is really very sad. I hope this guy finds his wallet.dat.
Sometimes fate makes really bad jokes with us, but just when we are least expecting, she gets revanved for this.
I hope this to happen in this story, although it has been so many years.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

What a sad story it is. 103 is more than enough to have stable life and stable to have a business, house, etc. Life happens for a reason, tough times don't last forever, tough people do. I hope and I pray that this guys can found his wallet.dat.

This is painful losing a staggering amount of 103 BTC . Now he is giving his wallet ID for any one to try if they can open the wallet? Ok we will try. If we succeed what next.

yes it is very insulting, now he would be a millionaire. I wonder how many more such wallets are in the world, with a lost balance. I will certainly hope that the guy will still be able to restore his wallet

This is the saddest story that I've read in this year. I can not imagine how that guy feels. This is stupid but I think  I  would  kill myself if it happened to me. This is an incredibly huge amount of money now.

Many people lost their wallets from 2011 when Bitcoin worth nothing. Unfortunately, no way to recover their wallet or to even know how much Bitcoins are lost.

It is really sad to see someone lose his fortune after making so much efforts. It is a fact that bitcoin was not worth the value back in 2011, but look at it now! It is worth of 14k$.

I wish I could do something that can help him get back the lost money, but I am not good at these kind of things. Let us hope he finds a way to get back his money as soon as possible.

Hard to imagine what my reaction would be if this happened to me. I think we should, from this sad event, learn yet another lesson for our lives so that in the future we will not be in a similar situation.
Losing anyone of the above can surely affect us to a huge loss. It is better to be safe by storing the wallet file or private key in a safe place which can be accessed if needed. Actually bitcoins do not have any paper form or hard currency likes national currencies and bitcoins are completely digital and anonymous which needs wallet.dat file or private key, etc to access the funds.

103 Bitcoins is really a huge amount now, but it was not that huge amount in 2011 so he might not be regretting much now. 103 bitcoins can easily settle up lives of any individual in the current situation. Most of the people's have the same problem and even no one can help them out of this as losing the wallet file is like losing everything we have to take care of.

I wonder how much more bitcoins are lost due to situation like this. Pretty sure those who gets bitcoins back when it worth like a dollar or less; didn't really bother to store their wallet properly.

A lot of users are in that situation, where they either forgot the password or the wallet seed or simply do not know where you have taken the back up of the wallet and in my opinion around a million bitcoin are lost forever and the majority of the coins are from the beginnning as it was easy to mine the coins. It is not possible to get those coins and no one can help you in recovering those.

Yep think there are quite a few of us who have lost Bitcoins and Litecoins from the early days lol.  There was one guy over here who even went as far as searching the rubbish dumb for a hardrive which he threw out. If he could have found it he would have also been a millionare today.

Haha yeah I was gonna say about the rubbish dump guy.. That's probably the worst one I've heard..

Would you go diving into garbage for $100million??

as well, that I did not know about Bitcoin in 2011. I think that I could not live in peace, having lost the same amount.

That's one disadvantage of being your own bank. Once you lose the keys to your vault, nobody could find it for you. I guess even using BFA to get his private keys would take ages.

Oh boy, this is really must hurt. 103 Bitcoins is a fortune with the current prices. But as life plays like this sometimes, there is no good in regretting things like this, there will come other opportunities. Hope he learned his lesson from this huge loss. I still hope for this guy that he will somehow be able to recover his wallet file.

I cant imagine how it hard to be in on his part. If i was him for sure i will regret and never forget that in my entire life. 103 btc is a very big value nowadays and you can live without having a work lol. I don't think there is a chance to retrieve the wallet dat file and the bitcoin funds will be lost forever.

That is really very regrettable. I even think the real number is more than what you say.

Oh, no! 103 Bitcoin is so huge. You can be a multi-millionaire if you convert it to fiat currency. That was a huge loss. I am so sorry to the man you are talking about. I hope he is still continuing mining Bitcoins. What had happened to him was just a temporary loss. Someday, he will definitely win if he is not losing hope and still continuing his work.

There are a lot of such stories. If you are working with digital currencies in some corners of your mind you must to be ready to rake a risk a be ready to lose money if something will go wrong.
