Although it is in line with the nature of cryptocurrency, I won't deny that I was significantly impacted by the 2022 crypto performance and experienced a negative portfolio percentage since 60% of my assets are altcoins and 40% are reserved exclusively for bitcoin.
You don't need to worry and be afraid of it.
Even though 2022 experienced a bear market and had a major impact on all your crypto assets, keep your faith.
Because every year the crypto market has a different phase, but you don't need to worry about the losses you experience.
I believe that someday, especially when Bitcoin is halving, the price of bitcoin will increase significantly followed by a gradual increase in altcoin prices and the crypto market will return to normal or return to the phase where the market is bull and all your losses will come back and you can even make big profits. more.

This year's natural selection has been terrible, many large projects have collapsed and rocked cryptocurrencies, but in this way it must have happened for a brighter future, financial management must be improved from various crypto projects, and from utility, liquidation, and risk-taking was taken by the platform.
now is the right time to invest in your favourite coins, like me for example Cardano, XRP, Polygon, and Etherium I used a little of my funds to buy altcoins from the rest of the bitcoin purchases.
if you are a person who understands the opportunity, surely you will not miss it.

While it is true that the market will at some point get out of this bear market this is not true for every single coin out there, there are many coins which will collapse before the new bull market comes and many others will remain flat even when an altcoin season appeared, with this in mind we must be extremely careful if your goal is to buy altcoins and then obtain higher profits than what you can get with bitcoin, as it is almost impossible to know which altcoins outside the top 100 will survive and which ones will disappear.

Dead to be exact, majority of them who has enjoyed success on the bull run because investors are blindly investing on some of them because they can give x amount of returns, which it did for some because that is the bull run.

But worst comes to worst, the bear market will eliminate everything that has been used as pump and dump scheme. So yeah, majority might die, and only the best coin survived with use case and has the support and consensus of the community.
There is little doubt that thousands or even tens of thousands of coins will disappear during the current bear market, however once a new bull market emerges those coins will be replaced very quickly as scammers are not going to miss the opportunity to make millions of dollars by just releasing a copy of one of the many different shitcoins they have released over the years with a different name and logo, and sadly investors will believe in them and end up being scammed once again.

I just want to share my experience before.
My own opinion is, it doesn't mean that a particular cryptocurrency is a cheap or really huge drop from its all-time high it is good to buy.

It's already proven by Bitcoin versus other altcoins before, when the market starts to recover, Bitcoin or any other high market cap already recovering but some other altcoins are still not, or they recover but not that huge percentage compare to Bitcoin.

That's why for me, it is better to accumulate Bitcoin during bear market.

honestly to be fair even though they've lost so much of their valuation this year, those coins are still pretty much have higher value than in few years back, the ups and downs in these coins journey in increasing their value is honetly very normal and the value is decreasing doesn't mean it's the end for them, instead these coins could always makes come back again and again.
Besides, the red mark that we see in the market today doesn't mean that we are losing hope to see them in gree again. We can't just simply ignore the volatility of the market and then see all of them are always in the green, a drop is inevitable and it strikes any time (sometimes it stays longer). If are a long-term holder, the drop really doesn't matter as we did not look at everyday changes because what we think is positive growth in the future.
It was indeed that in 2022 the market isn't performing well but we look forward to seeing good trends 2 years from now.

that is very true. though we are seeing btc or eth losing about 60+% of its value, it doesn't mean, we are losing hope that it will recover. but for other alts, you do need to contemplate if they are really worth holding long time. because probably, most won't recover as some of their respective devs will abandon their developments. you need to be smart in selecting the coins you want to hold onto, otherwise, your would be rekt by these coins.

so much incidents regarding the collapses of the big projects like luna and the others added with economic crisis and pandemic is enough to quite literally mess up your investments in general, but then again things like this is definitely out of general investment forecasts calculation meaning no one could know if all these bad things could hit all at once, but as many have stated above this doesn't mean the end of your investments, you could just simply wait it out until the next bullrun and your investment will most likely retain and recovers back the value, after all your investments currently isn't in its normal state in which the value is definitely far higher than it is right now.

Throughout 2022 we were all tested with the crypto market and also the occurrence of several factors that caused the crypto market to be bearish throughout 2022, including bitcoin which fell 65% from its new ATH.
but what is happening right now is a great opportunity for all of us and other investors to buy because it is a big discount which is going to be a very big advantage in the long term especially in bitcoin. And when it comes to choosing an altcoin, you have to be extra careful, especially with newer altcoins, and it is better to choose the top and oldest altcons that have good track records beforehand and are also profitable in the long term.

If you combine pandemic and war, that's what happens.
...

I guess this can be an explanation for the current bearish period, but this is not the first time we have had a similar situation. This is the 3rd time I see the entire market going down losing billions in seconds. Crypto has some cycle, and I guess we all look for reasons for all ups & downs, but I am not sure that it's so easily explainable. There's always some crisis around, and at the same time, good things happen as well... but all that doesn't reflect on the price every time.

I agree that the first months of next year will not bring much excitement. We will stay a little longer in this bearish period, with some occasional spikes, as it always goes, in both ways.

Well, the year was hard, I think no one can deny that. I think 2023 will be more calm and steady and we're not gonna see new ATHs and low for big coins.

If you combine pandemic and war, that's what happens.
Economic breakdown means fewer people are investing. No demand means no surge in the price upwards.
I don't think the early month of next year can also solve it. It will take a lot of time before the investors get organized again.
It's even difficult to save right now, what more with risking your money for a future that you cannot tell. There are chances you may get rekt instead of profits or worst you get impatient and pull it out at the wrong moment.

So most of the leading coins are in red mark only. Hope next year will be better.

The red mark on the market chart doesn't mean that crypto is dying, in fact, the price is still high compared to before. Most of us are looking forward to having positive growth next year but also we have to help ourselves not to become excited as this bear season hasn't stopped yet. Therefore, early next year we still see the market is full of red marks. If Bitcoin will just reach at least $40k next year, it was feeling okay and many people were happy about it.
We need to extend our patience more...

I haven't seen any wrong with buying nor it was a big mistake. I invested in ETH and BNB till now, not a single I regret it because I believe these coins will rise in the coming days. Well, the only thing we can do is hold and stay calm. In fact, it was noted that during the bull season altcoins shows also a remarkable uptrend. So if we can manage to wait then there is no problem buying altcoins.
For your case I think it is more relevant, there is a determination of the amount of investment you make in bitcoin and altcoins, literally bitcoin is the best investment at the moment and puts the only best and is able to maintain the value of investment assets. In contrast to the mention of altcoins in general, because the investment potential will actually be very risky and speculative, not many altcoins are able to maintain value in the long term, my attention is actually greater for the development of Ethereum.

30% - allocated capital for altcoins
I think it was a safe investment for me.
You pick three coins as an investment now, for bitcoin it doesn't seem like we have much to discuss, because it's been tested and can hold its value. Meanwhile, Ethereum and BNB can be used as a complement to investments made in bitcoin. But to be honest I like Ethereum more than BNB, although currently stable altcoins fall into both categories. It seems to me that this is a good strategy that you are doing.

snipped...

That's what I've always wanted to tell people, investing in altcoins during a bear market is a vast, irreparable mistake. Many people even advise buying top coins but forget that they are also altcoins, and history has said that most altcoins will die or be replaced by newer altcoins when the bull market comes. The opportunity for old altcoins to go up is too low, see examples like LTC, EOS, and BCH...they are no longer profitable for us. In a bear market, focus only on bitcoin, altcoins are only suitable for the bull season and should sell all of them when the bear season comes.

This has been one of my worst year with crypto, and that performance is a proof that bear dominates the whole year. Hoping to see at least a small progress for those top altcoins, we should see the recovery next year or else we might see another negative performance for many altcoins and even with Bitcoin. On a positive site, this could be a perfect timing to buy more good altcoins, they are still cheap right now so better to grab this opportunity.
Many lose their confidence about altcoins, and that is because of many negative issues with the top project before and seeing this percentage is a proof that the market is not doing well and one of the worst bear market. The next trend will surely about bull trend because we can’t stay bear forever so its good to buy some now, and maybe next year will be the start of a small pump that can trigger bull run.

This year is the second year that bad things have happened to Cryptocurrency, in 2022 the market is experiencing a long crisis with a downward trending market, of course the Altcoin situation will be in a bad area when Bitcoin experiences a decrease in value, and this Altcoin Value will automatically follow down.
To take advantage of this bearish market situation, we should make purchases and hold/hold it until market conditions improve again.

The main coin that is highly recommended to buy is Bitcoin and it is highly recommended to be the main holding, and Altcoins that have good value potential, make Bitcoin and several Altcoins your main holding in the future.
