The mind is an unspoken Prayer, and its energy is much stronger than speech, because the Mind (reason) is a gift of God that is only given to human beings as an enhanced being.

I believe that prayer is our way of communicating and reaching God. Through prayers we are sharing all our problems and burdens unto God. We are able to express what we feel through prayers and we are able to ask what we need through prayers. Prayer is a powerful weapon of those who are in need of help.

I respect your ideas which you have mentioned above but Thoughts and prayers are completely useless without effort to reach our goals. If people wants to gain their desires , they must work hard for them. Praying just brings inner peace not realities for sure.
You think thought and prayers are useless like the cats because they are relaxing. Thought and prayers are the most effective way of achieving success in whatever you do.
For me, prayers is talking to our internal being, our creator and thoughts or meditation is listening to our creator. So basically its talking and listening. It is actually advisable to listen more and to talk, so meditate more after your praying time.

Lol. Thoughts and prayers look cute though. But i don't agree that they're useless. Well not the cats that is. Its a way to reach out and send support to other people even though it doesn't really do anything physically.
Prayer is not useless for as long as one believe in GOD, the reason why we pray because we all need help, we need somebody whose powerful, all knowing and all sufficient God to assist us,to guide us, and to usher us into doing good and becoming the good person that we always want to be..our thoughts and prayer would only be useless if without faith.. In this world full of wickedness and corruption we all need God to save us and assure us of our salvation.
Thoughts and prayer are esential in our life wether we accept it or not when we are in danger the first thing that comes in our thought is to pray.. To ask for help especially when it is beyond our capacity to save..our prayer may not be answered the way we expect to, but that doesn't mean He has no ability to save us nor response to our request.
When we pray, body, soul, spirit become calm and walk in a harmony, our result we get balance of body which is very useful for health. after praying, we will usually feel peaceful, calm, and happy.
And this is proof, that praying will trigger the emergence of a positive psychological response.our stress hormone levels are also reduced.
The most important thing, prayer is also able to maintain our immune system. so we are not sick easily.
A happy heart is a potent medicine

Prayer is nothing but a powerful placebo. We’d all be better off accepting that. When it comes down to it, prayer is illogical, even in religious terms. If God has a plan, why try to thwart it? If God can be swayed by prayers, what kind of God would allow the horrors we see in the world? And if two devout believers pray for different things, how does God choose the winner?

Prayers can not be completely useless, they help a person program themselves for success and for achieving great heights, sometimes it helps to recover. Of course, one does not have to rely on one prayer, but it's worth trying.
It's just your opinion.
Prayers are more internal reflection and inner talk between our spirit self and spiritual world, not something what can fulfill your wishes right away.
If your wishes are selfish, don't expect that someone will help you and fulfill it for you.
Spiritually we are like small children or babies and our wishes are often immature and selfish.
When we invest more in our spiritual growth, we become more mature and more close to God's hearth and love.
Only than we will see fulfillment of our prayers.
Just my opinion? God only answers unselfish prayers?
