No. He's talking about something else. You can get 14 activity ponts max per period and it doesn't matter when or how fast you make them. You only have to make one post in the period and you can collect the rest of the 13 points later or straight away.

Found this pretty helpful, thanks.

Just wondering why isn't it exactly 2 weeks, but something like 10 minutes more?

I think it is because the bitcoin mining dufficult adjusts every ~ 14 days.

So the time is actually based on bitcoin mining difficulties?

I am bot pretty good at Maths but if the activity periods are every 10 minutes. A person making 14 posts every 10 minutes will get 28,224 activity in 14 days. It's not so hard to make it, you can easily set up a bot and post Bitcoin mining difficulty graphs or price charts etc... If somehow forum does it, theymos will have to make new rank each day.

So it has to be exactly 14 posts per 10 minutes? Could you explain it further?

Appreciate your response.

Nope it doesn't depends on difficulty change. Every "activity period" are exactly 1210000 seconds long.

Apparently , the activity changes every 1210000 units of the UNIX timestamp.

This equates to 14 days , 6 minutes , 40 seconds.

This means , after 3026 2 week periods , you would expect to gain 42364 activity.

But no , you would get only 42350 activity.

TLDR; Every 116 years you will lose out on 14 activity. Sad right ?

In order to make this thread more productive, here are some of the next timings :-

( All times in GMT )

12/9/2014 10:13:20
12/23/2014 10:20:00
1/6/2015 10:26:40
1/20/2015 10:33:20
2/3/2015 10:40:00

Here is a list of all the ACCURATE start dates of the 14 day periods till 2060 !

FAQs of the Activity system
(All of these can be found stickied in the Meta , but just in case)

Q : How is activity calculated ?

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Q : Help ! My activity (or rank) has not activated yet , even though I have sufficient posts and have posted in sufficient time periods !

Anyone got a complete listing of times in different time zones?
In the spreadsheet in the OP you can change the timezone, just put your GMT offset into the spreadsheet and all the numbers change.

Is activity currently updating?  I dont think my Activity has changed since the outage.

Perhaps I had already maxed out that 14 day span but I didnt post that much.

Strato

Yes it is working.   If yours hasn't updated, you probably just need to wait for 15 mins since the last post that you made, and you will probably get your 14 activity points...
