Topic: Top 20 days for Bitcoin - page 63. (Read 108087 times)

Well today should be pretty easy to have at least a top in the USD/BTC pair.. because we have already had the vast majority of action from the first 18 hours of the day, and there are only 6 hours left to average out, so the odds of averaging out below yesterday's price are pretty low, currently as I type.

The coming days are another question in regards to how much UPpity we are going to experience or whether some of those numbers in the top  20 or so need to fill in a bit more.  One thing that I like about this particular thread is that it serves more of an "is" rather than an "ought to be" thread - even though it remains quite interesting to watch how these numbers fill in and when new numbers are created at the top of the scale... Seems to be one of the best of the measures of where BTC prices are at, even if we end up filling some areas lower down the chart, perhaps?  Perhaps not?

We're well on the way. (Hopefully!)

best part is when seeing the new entry making a new top on yefis list (USD 31,348) and then checking the current price (USD 34000). very nice indeed!

That's the streak we need to keep up.

My positioning with the farm and the cheap coin coming to me is the best I have ever been at.  It took a long time to get to this point. As 2021 unfolds I am scheduled to do well.

A new year, same old streak.. now up to 18 days.

Of course, I took your comment of staying in the top 15 for the coming 100 days to the extreme, and a large number of us longer timers already know that bitcoin does not work like that... but it paints a scenario that would still cause your statement to be true.. but on the lowest of the scale of such.

We should recognize our reality in that Bitcoin is surely in a kind of a price "battle" territory, so maybe could end up averaging out in some kind of seeming stable price (when we look at the UPs and the downs and then average them out), but actual smooth moves in BTC's prices in the coming 100 days is not very likely to either be experienced in reality or known in advance.. even though if you are in the mining business, you are likely trying to trajectory out BTC's price a bit based on probabilities and to the best of your ability. 

One of the most certain things in bitcoin, is its ongoing continued and likely volatility .. and, I certainly have few ideas how the volatility resolves itself any time in the near future  (probably including not resolving within our life times - we are similar ages...), but surely if BTC's market cap were to go to a million per coin or more (which would be about 33x from here and about a $16 trillion market cap), BTC would almost have to become more stable by design of the market cap increasing.. but even getting to a million per coin would likely experience quite a bit of volatility along the way of getting there (in other words not any kind of straight and gradual line).

 well since I am mining that would mean 100 days of solid profits.

Yeah I looked at this from mining viewpoint and used July 2019 13K along with Dec 2017 19.9k

Today we are = to July 2019 from my farms monthly mining profits viewpoint.  We did not hold the July 2019 prices very long.

For us to be = to Dec 2017 from my farms monthly mining profits viewpoint we need 70-80k.  We did not hold the Dec 2017 numbers very long.


But even though I thought we would correct at the 29k level based on what we did in July of 2019 ( I still think this if you put a gun to my head and said guess) I do know that moving towards the 70-80k from now till Dec 2021 could happen.

Say 70% we correct vs 30% we go to 2017 profit levels.

The nice thing about all of the above is this thread tracks it.  



I am okay with a crash (I buy cheaper gear)
I am okay with 25-35k sidewinder for the year.
I am ecstatic with a move to 70-80k by 12-12-21

A lot of us would feel really badly, even though such a 90th place price of $13,880-ish, is nearly double the 208-week moving average price which is currently at about $7,700 - which historically has been the most bottom of the BTC bottoms.. and also is the top of the June 2019.. price move, as you seem to be honing in upon, Phillip.

For example, one of the ONLY times that BTC prices went below the 208-weekly moving average was in mid-March 2020 when the 208-week moving average was about $5,300 at that time, yet as many of us know (and experienced) the BTC price went below such 208-week moving average at various points for several days.

But, yeah, when we are on an UPpity trend, that 208-week moving average is looking really extremely low and unrealistic to be reached any time soon - just like going below $13,880 (90th ranking) is currently feeling to be "way too low," currently.. and surely, I believe the odds are low for anything in the lower half of the top 100 currently... even though many of us realize that we need to be prepared psychologically and financially for such outrageousness were it to occur.. but if the odds are 1% or 2%, then we should not be putting more than 1% or 2% or maybe 5% at most into such unlikely scenarios..,. we gotta somewhat attempt to match our preparations to the odds - and we are not all going to prepare the same, which does cause some peeps to win or lose more than others, relatively speaking.
