I also invested in IOTA and NEO, I believe that this coin in the future will be in the top 10. Project developers work very well, really try and advertise a lot about these two coins.

The top 5 coins to invest would be: Bitcoin, Monero and Ethereum.
Bitcoin being the pioneer of all the cryptos, still holds the most potential in the market. Also, it is too big for its bubble to burst open. The coin is being widely accepted and its lightning network is giving a new way in the financial system.
Monero is the best coin for secure transactions as it provides complete anonymity. Transactions can only be made by sharing the wallet address. Hence, the information of the sender and receiver is kept private.
Ethereum, with its market capital of $37 billion has one of the strongest development teams behind it. Also, the coin provides a good platform for posting new ICOs. Hence the coin has a lot of potential and you can expect a good amount of worth from it.

Bitcoin - Because bitcoin has been enjoying the king’s throne
Ethereum - Probably the safest
Ripple - Ripple seems to be the number one option for a lot of people because it is fast, well connected to bitcoin, and closely tied with financial institutions.
Iota - They are dedicated to B2B transactions.
Steem - I’d say steem is an exception because quality & curated content is a need of tomorrow. There is enough junk on the internet, perhaps putting in some faith into the steem platform would be worth it.

Just check out the solid ICOs (forget about the obvious scams, these are expected in such decentralised techs) with a great team, promising and solid tech.
For example Multiversum, which will add sharding to the traditional blockchain to increase fault tolerance among other benefits.
To me, ETH is the chain with the best investors, team and tech, even with the scaling issues. But this year you will see that other coin ICOs will come out as well challenging this position, making the ICO ecosystem even richer.

The best advice would be, choosing the cheapest coins for a long term investments or invest in new ICOs choosing the correct ICOs with successive projects, This would fill up your wallets with much profits.
