Most persons learning a new skill are often faced with the big question/challenge of turning their skill to profit. After acquiring a skill, truth is if there is no platform for you to practice and offer your services and also make profit, you may become less interested and efficient with the skill you learnt and it may soon be forgotten by you.
In my opinion, the first step is to make sure you learn a skill that's highly sought-after, many people go on to learn skills that doesn't really have large demand in our contemporary society, such people often tend to lack enough customers to offer their services to. Thus one thing that's very important before you learn a skill is to access it's present demand and check how many people would actually pay for this service, after doing that research, you can then go for it.

Having said that, the most important is to be good/near perfect in what you do/the service you render, of course the skills that are highly sought-after will be laden with competition, that's where your effort has to come in, you have to be really good at what you do, and that's the only way you can stay ahead of competition, if not you'll still struggle to turn that highly needed skill into profit.

but what's important is to start looking for a suitable job that will both utilize the skills you already have and help you develop them more.

I think this is a relationship between skill and passion. It is very suitable to learn a skill close to our passion or the same with our passion and with that you won't have any issue to grow faster into it. A business person in real life or a marketing will better understand trading online better and faster than someone that is a novice in the real world business. That is saying a real world business person knows different terms in business and how they interact with themselves like demand, supply, ROI volume etc

Every individual must have their own abilities and we must have certain skills, starting from talent from birth which is then continuously trained and developed into skills and there are also skills that come suddenly due to technological advances or others so that we develop them.
Skills will make money if there is a will and also make skills as services or others according to existing skills or seek or learn new skills according to the development of the world so that your skills are easy to make money, and produce different skills by combining skills with creativity for results Unusual.
In my opinion, today's people must have the skills and creativity to earn extra money or income so that their lives are not mediocre.

That's the problem with trying to learn a skill I guess? It's hard to determine whether it's because you want it, or you're in it for the money or both. Honestly, if you have both that would be for the best, and if it's because you want it then money would naturally follow, but if it was the latter? That's the hard part. Realizing you don't have enough "skill" to earn money with it would just lead you to giving up. To make a comparison, it's like an artist that keeps comparing themselves to others with years of experience, and ends up quitting since they have "talent" and he doesn't.

Developing skills takes time. A LOT of time imo. It isn't something that'd pop up just because you started doing it, so persevere since that's the only thing really that could push your skills to the level where it would turn iinto profit.

If it's not limited to crypto-related stuff, I obtained skills of translating texts, and turned them into profit by working as a translator for some period of my life. I also have public speaking skills, and at another point in life I used them (but not merely them) when working as a school teacher. I think skills don't always translate directly into jobs, and sometimes one job requires a set of skills, as well as knowledge, but what's important is to start looking for a suitable job that will both utilize the skills you already have and help you develop them more.

Right on the spot! I have learned drafting skills using programs like Autodesk AutoCAD and 3dsmax and honestly speaking I forgot all of those in the present. I never used them to seek an employment, or earn by freelancing, and the knowledge slowly fades away. I am an entrepreneur at the moment, most of the skills is communication, marketing, and related to consumer services after sales.

I realized that even though you learned new skills, it will just fade away if you don't put it on action, maybe for some reason we just have to be pasionate about what we do. We should follow the career that we love to do and that way the knowledge we learned will be forever with us until we die.

The only skills right now that I put practice to aside from being an entrepreneur is building my own pc. I've learned it ages ago and it currently resides on me as I love building gaming Rigs. Also I am a miner that of eth that, a 4 amd cards that the rigs I build my self with the skills that I've got. My friends are lucky too because I give them this service for free, fixing their PC and upgrading it gives me a bliss of time.

Skill, yeah it is something you must learn if you don’t have one and if you have one then you must learn to implement. Well, I have learnt something from wolf of Wall Street movie, the simple formula when a guy sells his pen with supply and demand formula. The most realistic form of skill with thousands of ways to do but you must know how to use it! Just having a skill does nothing good for you. You should be able to either create a demand or simply limit the supply of you are billionaire like Elon. Well in most of the cases we are demand guys.

This might seem way off the chart but this market runs on it since many years. It’s better to acquire the skill set as we are not born with set of them.

I have used very strategic way of working in the crypto space. You wait for the right opportunity and also have close look on the market to enter at right time and exit at the perfect time. If you know this then that’s the smartest trade you can have.

The best way I think to turn your skill profitable for yourself, is hard work, so many professions and skills out there and their are even more people with abilities to fill it in, so now it's a competition, so in other to turn your skill profitable you have to do more than your closest competitors, at this point you go extraordinary, normal people sleep and want to relax, that's when you distinguish yourself, work more time than. The other person in furnishing your skills and abilities, and before you know it you have so many opportunities in earn from that skills of yours.

It is not arguable that skills are potential money if that is what you want to say because when you learn a skill, you can provide for your self, take care of other people by extension. But it is potential money if you make yourself relevant with it and not be lazy to upgrade yourself and grow with the current waves of the line of skill you have acquired including technological. As you see things are changing and someone who only has old fashion of doing things in his field of skill will end up being starved because naturally they will be out of demand, market and be swallowed by those who have gone miles away from the old ways. The point therefore is learning a skill is money waiting to be converted if willing to follow the current process of growth. Almost every old ways have changed and new styles, designs and patterns keep coming up. Just one example, the electronics of today are not same with those 10 years back etc

In another light I don't agree that you can forget what you have learnt when you don't put them in use, all you need is little brush up, upgrade and you are up and running. Like it is said, that an old woman does not forget the dance steps she was used to when young. To this end you can see her trying to make such moves when the rhythm comes  Grin Grin

You are right op, what i found very good to the thread mostly is transformation of skill to profit so in normal any skill is looking up to a profit and benefit, some people have have talented skill but they are not converting it a meaningful angle of life despite that skill learnt does not die and does not be forgotten after time's because skill acquired is like a graduate in high college
