Everyone has their own opinion, the plan of some investors will be different from others that's why everyone seems different in the market, investors who like to take risk will choose trend coin or some might love the long term, I will also prefer the long term that gives guarantee of making profit. Talking about the long term it's best to invest what you can afford if possible make solid research before investing. Before investing you need to consider the coin you want to buy not all altcoin do well so making a solid research to be sure first, not all trend coin will do well so I can't waste my time looking for a trend coin to invest I will rather go for what will guarantee profit in long term, the issue here is just about choice nothing else, most people have gotten profit from trending coins and they still love to invest while others has never gotten any.

What is your suggestions about profit from altcoins. Should we rely on only buying long term projects or we should invest according to trend despite of looking that trends coin will have no value in future?

Working both can help you like follow the trend and also accept the known and famous coins like Bitcoin and ethereum so you can earn large sum in less time. There are abundant creations of new coins but here we have to use our mind because following trend each time isn't a wise step.

According to trend sometimes a coins gets pump therefore just buying solid base tokens is not enough but we should sometimes follow the trend like these days solana grow faster so some amount of money should be invest in solana as if it goes pump in coming Bull run then surely we will feel sorry for our commitment.

For short-term gains it is better to focus on trends and hype and for long-term gains it is better to look into a coin's use case and benefits to the real world. I generally follow that concept. Meme coins are nothing but a way to make a profit in the short term whereas Bitcoin and Ethereum are for coins that have made an impact in the real world. Almost everyone wants to make a profit fast and does not have the patience to wait long, that is the reason meme coins are looking more attractive to everyone than coins that are making an impact in the real world.

Anything investment is for long term therefore if you are investing in altcoins you to consider two things which the risk involve. Since you investing for long, you have to wait for like years to see your investment project mature. And in the process of the investment, along the line the project collapsed then you have to bear the lost and force the risk challenges you said you would over come. So when you are investing in any altcoins you should take caution in it.

Not all the altcoins are worth investing for. Some are here to increase the number of altcoins and nothing more.

Most people who follow the trend have already missed the pump on a certain coin or token. It’s better to invest in well known coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum to hold long term. If you want to find hidden gems though it’s best to do your own research & catch them before everybody else does.

Following the trend often allows us to make more money in the cryptocurrency market, but we have to be very careful when following the trend because bad people who are in this market for fraud purposes also follow the trend and develop scam projects by acting according to the trend.

I diversify my investments. I follow the trend with part of my money and buy solid long-term projects with the other part of my money.
I think following the trend those not assure you making more money as that becomes the most risky investment, there are good projects as well which believes in their capabilities and you don't see them all over the place or head news as they love to prove their essence to the community and investors, by giving their investors good profits and let that prove their level of continuity.
Don't forget drums which are empty makes the loudest noise as those altcoins that brings investors through the trends basically relies on the trend to sell of the coins and have no concrete foundation to sustain the project and they become the first to get rugged.

Crypto is mostly unexpected and we don't know which token will give us high profit. sometimes we expect a big pump in the token and we believe that this project has a lot of potential but this token performance remains low throughout bull and bear season just like DOT and Cardano while some coins we often called them scam and spam pumped hard like ORDI, Pepe, Floki. It's all about trend when trend end then no one want to buy these coins.

What is your suggestions about profit from altcoins. Should we rely on only buying long term projects or we should invest according to trend despite of looking that trends coin will have no value in future?

Choosing both can give us benefits if the Altcoin we invest in is right and has good potential if the team in the related project is trustworthy and has experience in the crypto industry.  Therefore, don't be easily trapped by existing coin trends if you don't dig deeper into the project's goals and look for the reputation of the team involved.

If you know that a trending token will have no value in the foreseen future and you want to risk it to flip your capital, that's understandable risk. You can take it and bear the consequences (if they come). Sadly, that's a hard part in cryptos because it's full of uncertainties. No one knows for sure where any token/coin is headed. We can only speculate and that's why most times we take profit too early. We just want to safeguard our capital invested. So, merely investing and hodling shouldn't always be canvassed but at what point should one get out. Not even Bitcoin doesn't make one's portfolio look pretty every time. It depends at what level one goes in.

Riding on the trend is not that bad because there's a potential to gain huge in just a short period. But keep in mind that this strategy is more risky. Thus, you must be prepared for the worst case since that's likely to happen. If you missed the timing to take profit (if the coin that you invest in already soaring high) because of your greed then you'll lose your money for hoping it can increase higher.

Well, no one is stopping an investor on what he/she think is the best way to profit. But remember that it's better to invest in established coins. Because even you have to wait for long, you won't be worried that the coin will turn to shitcoin since it has utility that can solve real problem.

Crypto revolves around demand so riding the trend or hype isn't a bad option. Investing to Long term projects is a good idea as well, however not all long term projects are succeeding. Nothing has the assurance so stick with what's obvious. In most instances, short term projects and investments are the more profitable ones and most of the time, long term projects are ones which are dying on its road. One big example is memetokens which are quite of a trend nowadays. Most of it are succeeding which supports the idea of following the trend when choosing a project to invest. You may also choose both thru diversification of your assets than go all out to one alone.
i think following trend is totally fine, i have gotten my fair share of profit from just riding the trend alone and that already suffice to make quite the profits.
I do believe that holding is a good thing but we can also do ride some trend and get that additional profit just in case.
moreover, trading around the trend of bullish like this gives significant benefit of always having our trades increase in term of value therefore the profits.
meanwhile despite of that we should also know to differentiate the good trend and the bad trends so that we won't get caught in losing some money along the way.
like the trend of meme coin that definitely gonna be making some people losing since its full of manipulation therefore its better to avoid this trend to be honest.

I tend to agree with this, you should separate your investment and allocate a bigger amount of the solid long-term project than the following trend projects because that has a high risk for sure.  As the expert says, don't put all your eggs in one basket, so it's ideal to separate the long-term and the short-term investment.

But those following the new trend need to monitor you closely, if you do not, you may be lost all your money when you left behind the trend knowing the project you invested in becomes shit.

If you must rely on any of this then you should be ready to join the trend when they are also selling their holdings because whenever the trend is gone then your investment is gone, usually not all coin do well in the market but most of the shitcoin today that perform very well are solely relying on marketing they pays heavily for marketing and possibly they get some famous influencers to tweet and post about their token to gain the require audience and popularity and once such person stops talking about that project you would see a massive dump that would befall that project. I also understand that prospect and usecase doesn't really counts anymore because of gain and profits, most people values 100x than the real purpose of the project instead they will hunter for project that would double their money within this bullrun season.

Wait, are you saying that you’ve been staking your money to buy cryptocurrency you know nothing about? Because there’s no way you follow the trend and not someday buy a token/coin you do not anything about. If there’s anyone who is in this category and is reading this, that is a very wrong way to invest. If you want to be on the safer side, at least check the cryptocurrency you want to invest in, check the features it offers, check if it is better for long term or short term. It is actually entirely wrong to just follow people like that.

In my opinion, there's nothing like long term project investment in altcoins. The only coin that can be used for long term investment in the altcoin family is the Ethereum and most likely BNB can be considered. Every other altcoin does not fit in long term investment. Altcoins investment is like gambling and it is therefore more profitable when the trend is on and you join the bandwagon. If the hype and trend is ended and you miss the timing, you could be holding some sort of worthless coins with you and which might not reverse again.

I therefore subscribe that if anyone is going the altcoins way, they should endeavour to be vigilant and ensure they follow the trend because the only reliable coin for long term investment is bitcoin.

It is hard to talk about long term projects and altcoins in the same sentence, and that's because most altcoins are pump and dump coins.

I think with altcoins, investors have to be looking at the short term, and that means investing in coins due to hype/trend, and when you get some profits, you dump it on the new investors. If you are looking for value or use case, then i am afraid, you have to buy Bitcoin, but if you are a short term investor who's looking for quick pump and profit, buy the trending altcoins.

Hype projects like meme coins are examples. They were getting attention at first and people got crazy buying but after the hype, nobody is able to trade anymore --the project was abandoned.

Long-term investors don't look for the current price but they instead focus on seeing its potentiality that is we have FA as a useful tool to determine whether the project will grow in the future or not. As we can see, most investors prefer old coins because they believe that these projects are potentially for the long-term than these new projects.

As a big believer of long term investing, I always believe that long term is the way to go.
Lesser stress, lesser risk, yes lesser reward but how can you cherish your rewards if you might already have a mental problem thinking which coins might go up in the future in the short to mid term?

I mean long term is for me the safest and the best way to invest into crypto. We already know that the market has this thing called 4-year cycle where all of the coin are pumping up every 4 years. It happened in 2021, and in 2017, and it might happen again in 2025 (we don't know). Relying on trend when you're investing is very stressful, and I can't take that amount of stress just to get a small amount of profit. For me it isn't worth it. Looking at the market every day, analyzing each coin that it's in your radar etc. etc. Overall, mental health would be better than those profits.

I already got profits (impermanent) when I'm into long term investing. Just a wrong decision from me cause my profits to disappear.

The current trending right now is the most volatile, high-risk, high-reward altcoins. Which still the meme-coins are still at the top of the list of altcoins that are good for profits if you are really looking.
Another is altcoin that alternative for Ethereum, smart contract altcoins, like layer-1 or layer-2 networks.
