I think any investment issue needs to meet the conditions of flexibility and initiative. Therefore, I think it would be better to combine both: trend and long-term investment. In the long term, you should focus on the top choices and sometimes you have to look for challenges to make a profit with interesting trends like ordinal, meme, gamefi,... in this case, I think the combination will create profit/ more diverse or more suitable.

Both methods of investing are good in their own way, if you have already thought about this type of income, then you already understand that the most important thing in this matter is to be as focused as possible on studying the currency in which you will invest. And you need to keep your nerves and emotions under control, not give in to panic, and you need to wait for the moment to sell, yes, experience are needed here.

If you intend to invest a large amount of money in altcoins, I suggest that you do it in multiple projects and different periods of time so you can always have alternative gains even when market goes down. When you surf through several types of altcoin projects you will notice and observe many patterns of that coin or token price, some projects tend to be profitable just in the few first days after lunch while other projects are pumping in long term slowly with the market trend.
However, the most important thing in investing with such projects is money management even that I'm a Bitcoin holder most of the time I grab some chances with high potential projects after checking and getting enough information from their team and whitepaper for a good vision, what the project has to bring as solution for the market.

For me it doesn't matter if it's a short or long term project as long as I can gain from it

First of all, I think we should know about our style before investing. Are you the one who loves the adrenaline rush of investing and likes to take high risks, or do you tend to be the safest investor? If you're an adrenaline junkie and love high-risk investments, go for the short-term ones, but if you're searching for a safer option, go for the long-term ones. The most ideal ones, of course, are to invest both in long-term projects and short-term ones (memes coin). By doing this, you can put your eggs in several bags, and one project could cover the other when, unfortunately, you face something bad. Investing both in the short and long term has its own challenges, and we have to know about this and about ourselves too so we can anticipate it well.

Crypto is mostly unexpected and we don't know which token will give us high profit. sometimes we expect a big pump in the token and we believe that this project has a lot of potential but this token performance remains low throughout bull and bear season just like DOT and Cardano while some coins we often called them scam and spam pumped hard like ORDI, Pepe, Floki. It's all about trend when trend end then no one want to buy these coins.

What is your suggestions about profit from altcoins. Should we rely on only buying long term projects or we should invest according to trend despite of looking that trends coin will have no value in future?

I think it will stay with the trend because when you see there is a trend, the coin that is with it will go very high even though the whole market is stable in its place but only the coin that is in the trend of the one that has the news that goes ahead .

I don't think about long term it's good except for bitcoin, the main reason is that we see the market as it is, it stays stable. But the coin that does not have a trend either stays in its place or falls below, so it is better for a person to invest during trend and go with the news so take out some of your profit.

Not all trends are volatile enough to give you a befitting profit. In fact some coin might even go the opposite direction when others are moving upward. And when we talk about safety measures, long term project are the best fit for that. I refer reputable long term projects than any trend in the market, and that is why Bitcoin has been my number choice. For you to be able to gain properly from trends, you are required to be smart enough to sense when to sell and buy, but in long term projects, you can even apply the DCA method of accumulating.

In my opinion, better to understand the market and adjust according to the period to be able to benefit from both sides. Now you can see what trends is happening in the market and most smart investors are apeing in to make quick cash to invest on long-term projects.

There is no straight line to make money in crypto, you just have to be smart and recognise opportunity and utilise it. I hope you noticed what is currently happening in solana blockchain? There are many such opportunities but it all depends on how we view the market.

Altcoins investment is a good way of making money provided you are able to recognise opportunities and exploit them properly.

Trends are new projects and are good for short term investments while coins that have lasted in the crypto market are long term projects, so they both serve their purposes for investors. Trending new projects if well researched and found to be worthy of investment are good to make profit on the short term, because they might not make it to long term, so an experienced investor will use the ROI to reinvest in long term projects. I think that this can be a perfect circle to integrate the two options, but trending coins carries far more risks because there are more scam projects than genuine ones, so there's a good chance that an investor might not make that profit on the short term to reinvest in long term projects. My personal preference if I have to go with one of them is to invest in long term projects because they've proven their reputations in the crypto market.

An individual investment in long term projects depends on an organizations goals and circumstances. Trend projects, on the other hand, usually grow suddenly in sync with the current market or technology. Trend projects usually involve the wisest investing for a short period of time and taking their profits. Although providing instant profits but suddenly you may face huge losses. Long term projects on top contribute to a strong positioning for future growth and sustainability that keeps you in the right balance with long term and sustainable gains.
Investors with different financial targets and goals will choose different options that will suit their investment goals. When we talk about trends or trending projects, we are talking about short-term unguaranteed gains, which means that your investment in a project that is related to a current trend might gain you some profit in the short run based on the lifespan or the hype it gains initially, or it might not even gain any hype or value and you might end up losing some money.

However, when we talk about long-term projects, we mean investments that we do in projects that have been around for years and are expected to be around for years to come, which means that you are making a safe investment even though the profits might be low and might come slowly but it at least gives you peace of mind.

I think we should take benefit from both long term projects and trends but try to use less amount for those coins which are pumping according to trend and use large sum for long term project. The better way to take benefit is to take out your reward and don't be too greedy that you start to wait for more pump because in such situations others will take out profit and you will remain with empty handed because such coins are in lower price after a single pump.

But if someone has doubt about the trend and are not in desire to loss money due to high risk then they should only choose long term projects because in such way their risk will be lower and they will be able to take benefit during Bull season. Every person has different opinions and everyone thinks differently based on their experience and profit percentage.

Investing on projects for long term should be Bitcoin while investing in trend altcoins should be like a gamble.

If need be to invest on projects according to trend, it should be invested with an amount one can afford to loose. Because since it's a pump and dump project, if you put your hard earn money on it, you might end up losing your hard earn money to the dump of such project.

I might prefer to follow trends. Well I bought quickly when the trend started. and will sell when the trend is almost over. Because I think investing in altcoins should be done quickly and not in the long term. Because it has quite a high risk if we have to endure it in the long term. We have seen many drops in altcoins of up to 98 or 99% leaving holders with losses that are impossible to recover from.

In more traditional investment like stock long term usually means 5 year or more, and I would never let money sit on an altcoins more than 2 years, let alone 5 years, it is too risky. I usually sell before 1 year, or at least will take some profit on those time frame. Even the highest marketcap altcoin like Ethereum is still too risky for me to put my money more than 2 years.

But that's just my opinion, on the other hand I know some people who hold altcoin more than 3 years and they gain a lot of profit, but most of them are big investor, they wouldn't budge even if their asset value down 30% or more.

Personally, I am more inclined towards projects that have long-term goals. Even though all projects have that goal, I also prefer coins that are already popular and well-known. that's because I'm more comfortable in making long-term investments, and accumulating my assets little by little.
However, if I feel I can take advantage of a trending project to gain profit, then I will also try for that. However, as long as it is still good and profitable, I will try to take advantage of it. It's just that, I prefer to invest long term by choosing long term projects.

You should know that the crypto markets tend to celebrate new trends and there are some crazy investors who rush to invest when they see a new trend. As a result they eat losses and many make good profits. However many people fell victim to scam schemes from old ico, ieo but in that respect ido management still holds a strong market share. Many new projects are successfully getting top sales from ido which is really commendable.
If we invest in new coins, in this case, our first task will be to have a good understanding of the coins. Besides, we will check the website of the coins that we will invest in and the various information that they have. If we try to invest a little carefully, then  Maybe we can succeed.

For short-term profit you should follow the trend; otherwise, you won't make any money. In this industry, money follows trends, and we have seen this before. When there was a meme trend all the meme projects started pumping, and even those scam meme projects as well. Investors blindly invested their money in those projects, so all the projects started pumping. But if you are looking for long term success and don't want to take much risk then explore long-term projects like bitcoin and ETH.

To be honest, the coins you mentioned have a very high volatility percentage, although I can't deny that I have holdings of Pepe and Floki, except for Ordi, which for me is no longer practical for someone like me who isn't a wealthy community investor in the crypto space.

I also have other altcoin holdings that are held long-term. Right now, the Pepe coin is really trending, and it has become noisy due to the intensity of the hype and manipulation of the investors who also hold it, which is probably also the reason why it was quickly listed on the well-known exchanges in the crypto business industry.

Every project owners strategies themselves with one astonishing way of growing their investors into buying their tokens or coins, so we ought to be extremely careful when dealing with new projects that comes from total hype, yes they give profits but most of them usually have a limited period of time which the Devs are aware but those projects who are really there for the long term would do more of getting the project much better so people can see the potentials and not just creating unnecessary hypes. if I have the opportunity to make money on both, then I will try to take advantage of both. However, in investment matters, I prefer to focus on the long term. So, I tend to choose long term projects. It's just that, if I have the opportunity to make a short profit on a trending coin, then I will try to take advantage of it. Well, if both are still profitable, then it would be wiser to try to use them together.
