LOL. Say what? Altcoins for long term hold? I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you mate. Altcoins are not the best for long time hold, they are for short term investments only. Haven't you heard "pump and dump". That's right, altcoins are just for pump and dump, sorry to tell you that. If you really looking for a long term investments, you should go to bitcoin. And I'm pretty sure that you will get a lot of head ache if you go altcoins and stick with them long term. Chances are you are going to be trapped and can't get out without any losses.

I always try to follow the Warren Buffet's principle of investment, he says when others are greedy, be fearful and be greedy when others are fearful. Thus, I would suggest you that go with the alt-coins where others are not willing to buy (but still the coin is having a good potential). Do not buy everything in one single order, diversify your investment in multiple price levels to reduce your average investment cost as less as possible in order to gain profit immediately in case of bounce back in the price.

Its your decision to sell out your bitcoins as of now which I would say it is indeed a good decision too since this would be the sweet spot to sell on specially if you are an active trader then you would really do such thing because I do really have the doubts that price will decrease later on after the fork when the community decide on profit taking for sure.Accumulating for the sake of free bitcoin gold did really affect the price of bitcoin.

well, maybe this is a good time to buy altcoins because their prices are very low. And after the hard fork, there is a big possibility that they will sell their bitcoin to buy altcoins. Bitcoin is now expensive cause of the hard fork. And people will focus back to altcoins when the hard fork finished.

What are we really all about here? Hasn't Bitcoin been forked already? I doubt because the bitcoingold is already listed on some exchanges as we speak at over $600 per coin. Yobit.io has it listed. Binance also has it. So, is there another fork after this important listing?

usually when the price of bitcoin start increasing, we examine that altcoin price start decreasing. In current postion the price of bitcoi is increasing therefore there are chances that altcoin will dump. i think we should wait a little, because currently the price of bitcoin increasing and therefore we cannot expect such a good increase in the price of altcoin . It’s more practical to wait for the bitcoin Gold for to earned free coins and after sell it immediately for bitcoin price might decrease and invest in altcoin. Don’t do it before the fork that is not a good decision after all bitcoin Gold is a free altcoin, so making those moves just go to waste and will not make a better on your profits.

I disagree and definitely NOT all altcoins will have their glory days. There's too much shitcoins out there to glorify "altcoins" in general. Probably only a small percentage of all altcoins will live on to the next decade.

After the fork is definitely not the best time to buy altcoins in my opinion, as it's most likely that people would be hoarding alts after the fork as well after claiming the bitcoinGold coins, so I personally expect a slight sharp rise in alts moments after the fork when people realize that they already received their bitcoingold.

I agree and I also did heard a lot from veteran traders stating that Bitcoin will reach $7000 next month. I would hold on to my Bitcoins if I were you and if you have spare money to spend on some altcoins then these would be good choices for long term investment including NEM and Ethereum on the list above mentioned.

Why you want to buy the altcoins with the bitcoin bro. If you hold the bitcoin you have in your wallet also increase the as price rises in the chart. You will get the profit according to the amount your saved only. So you can save the bitcoin because altcoins are not stable since it is very cheap and you bought huge amount altcoins for one bitcoin means you will loose more than the amount you saved in the form of bitcoin.
Cheap altcoins will be more cheaper after the fork since we are seeing dump in all the altcoins from the past two days.

I personally doubt that the alt coin bottom is in yet, at least for the market in general. There may be some that show short- to mid-term potential, but to me personally the risk would be to high to bet on the wrong horse. There's simply too much bullshit abound.

Then if its true that bitcoin value will become higher then to make sure of it i will buy altcoins after the fork to ensure that everything is ok. We really dont know what will happen to crypro currency this time during SegWit2X because no one can see the future that all are 100% speculation that bitcoin is good during the fork. To make it 100% sure i suggest we will wait for the event to happen because this is not a race of altcoins but just to ensure that we are safe to invest the selected altcoins because we are selling our bitcoins.

I like to sell some Bitcoins when the price is high and buy a good altcoin that is low. I think the real trick is getting the altcoin at a good price. Really both the Bitcoin sell price is important and the altcoin buy price as well.
