what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
the circuit breaker box is underneath the kitchen.  Lino does add more protection in a leak.

oooooh, look at all those cutouts for outlets..

how many mining rigs will you be able to run in the new kitchen?  Grin

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Driver is 16.30 for Linux

Genoil 1.1.7

Doing 133-139 mh/s.  I'd say its doing about 22.5 or 23mh/s in Ubuntu 16.04 in stock mode.

on 6 x 480 (4gb models)

2 - XFX 4gb rx 480
4 - Sapphire 4gb rx 480

powered usb risers.   3 seperate power rails for every 2 video cards.
Just spent a few hours setting up Ubuntu...will do power and benchmark tests after I take a nap.

Try these settings with the RX 480:

Manual frequency to 950mhz
Memory frequency stock at 2000mhz

Power limit -30%
Undervolt all power by -100mv.

With these, each card gets a stable about 24mhs but the power consumption on my kilowatt reduced dramatically.

On a side note, has anyone been able to lower the memory frequency below 2000mhz? Wattman for some reason won't let me go below 2000mhz.

Are you using Just Wattman only for this tweak or combination of Asus, Wattman, etc?  Also has it been stable so far and how do we set the Global setting from Wattman instead of via individual cards?

You didn't say how low it drop your wattage to per card?

At stock, it was pulling around 1000 watts, after, around 700watts for 6x Rx 480

wow  I am going to try that.

wattman 2 cards  now do 46mh  but dropped the entire system down to 270 watts

It is late I am tired and still have the kitchen on my mind.

Due to my back and feet I had lino put in not tile.  Went with Mannington platinum.  Also kitchen is on second floor of a bi level home

mine got a little slower as well.. 45-46 instead of 47-49..

i think i found out why.. they seem to prefer the 1236 speed (state 6) instead of 1266 (state 7).

im guessing if you just adjusted state 6 to 1266 you would get your speed back.

oh and wattman still crashes if you leave it open for a long time Sad

  do you use claymore software?

no im using etherminer from the nicehash program.

i havent really tried too many of those programs..

but i have used the etherminer for both nicehash and ethermine.org and get about the same results.

okay installed 16.7.1

I am getting 50-51mh  rather then 54.6 mh

here is what I think is going on the pcie slot was pulling a little too much power so 16.7.1 has 2 was to reduce that there is a switch on wattman and I believe that it simply freezes max memory setting at 2000 vs 2200-2225.

so I can choose to use the switch or simply keep the memory set at  2050 or so  gives me 25.5 which is less the the 27.3 and 27.3 yesterday but I did have a shut down after 14 hours

so watttman

is stock freq gpu
   2050 freq memory
fans  are 3000 to 4000 rpm manual
temp for card is set 83 max   70  target

and cards are at about 67 c

garage is 90 f due to some hotter weather.

so  the giga B-75m mobo has
a crucial 250 gb ssd
windows 7 ultimate
2 sticks of 4gb ram
a 700 watt silverstone psu
a 3570k cpu
whole system pulls 366 watts at 51 mh  no where close to what I got yesterday  330 watts 54.6mh.

pretty busy with kitchen install
they are doing the cabinets.

I also have 3 s-7 ln's coming to me on friday

I have to move the s-9 to the solar array and ship 2 of the s-7's to europe.

so pretty much this will be it for tweaking these cards until monday.

Yeah, now that I have found better stable settings.  I'm starting to like the 480s more.  I can also fit more of them into the same 48" rack due to the air flow direction being 1 path.

Phillip,

Do you find at Memory 2215, that MSI shows the GPU clock fluctuate all different range and that you get 27MH on 1 card but much lower on other cards?  It's not as stable as with 2180 in my experience, would like to hear about yours.  Seems like the memory clock it likes, it would start at lower hash and lower GPU clock and then fluctuate higher for the GPU clock and within 30-60 secs will reach it's final stabilized range.

it ran great for 14 -15 hours then a windows update crashed everything (my bad had it set wrong)

try as I might right now I can't get the 27.3 + 27.3  = 54.6 mh

I have 26.6 and 24.5 now.

all four tweakers are driving me a bit batty.

and I also read on anandtech that someone was able to a monster under clock giving 60 or 70 watts lower.

say 280 watts for a 2 card pc doing 48mh.  new drivers are coming very soon 16.7.1  maybe tonight

yesterday I did get 54.6mh at 336 watts to run stable.

I will let it run at 51mh and 350 watts today until 16.7.1 comes in.
I have to say these are good cards well worth the money.  but the next week will be a bit nutty.

Also I am still having my kitchen put in and it has been a mess.

today cabinets.

id be careful mining with these until new drivers come out.. there is something wrong with the fan control..
i set my pc to mine and i watched a movie on tv..

checking my computer i found one of my gpus was at 86c..
inspecting further.. the fan was at 1800 RPM on that gpu..

my other gpu was at 73c and that fan was at 3800 RPM.

so whatever is controlling the fans.. isnt working right..

running at 86c didnt seem to phase the gpu much, it was running right along at 1266 with 100% load

its like wattman was ignoring the fact i told my fans to hit 100% at 70c on that gpu..

edit, i rebooted my computer, and ran the NH miner and now its all back to normal with the fans blasting away..

I am running my windows pc's with just mining.

I use my macs for fun like posting here watching netflix youtube etc.

So yeah all the tweaker programs are f'd up.

I am playing with
sapphire trixx
asus gpu tweaker
msi afterburner
amd wattman  >>> inside amd 16.6.2

I can do 75% fans
I can do 2215 memory clock vs 2000 and this moves hash to 27 mh vs 24mh
I can do 85% for power on asus tweaker  this cuts watts down
I can not do the gpu to 1200 with any of the four it is stuck at freq 1266.

but playing with 4 tuning programs sucks.
