Now, indeed, many countries including USA start a huge fight with the crypto-currency world. I think that now many projects feel this on themselves, but we do not just break it. I think that the crypto-currencies will develop in spite of all prohibitions.
This thing is happening all over the world. The coins just get removed from major websites then it gets placed back on their website.

There are a lot of ICOs out there that are a total scam and there should be no ads because it makes all ICOs look scammy if more and more people who don't understand crypto get scammed by these ads. Besides, a lot of sources say that ICO ads are not that effective anyway. It's all about building community around the project for people who want to engage with it.

They just want to protect their audience especially those dumb people who are going to invest without any further knowledge about cryptocurrencies, and these ICO scams that is why google and facebook decided to do what is right, limiting the advetisement of these potential scams would be great because there will be less chance of these scammers to get noob people's money.

twitter and google is afraid in the technology blockchain , they are banned of cryptocurrency
but the blokchain is no needed twitter or google and anything. Crypto is the big community and I am sure a few years later
any platform like googe and twitter is used the technology blockhain.

Google and Facebook banning crypto related ads is pretty bad, but I couldn't care less for Twitter.
I really hope some of their competition will pick up the bulk of crypto advertising, I've been using other advertising networks with success lately.

Lastly, this might be a pretty good opportunity for Bitcoin related ad networks to grow a bit.
They could definitely use a bit more decent publishers, most of their publishers are either faucets or 'get paid' websites. Not really good for advertising paid services...

Nothing lasts forever
Stopping the ICO ads will not harm the blockchain technology at-all. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are now a hot topic around the world, (thanks FB and Twitter for that). But only a couple of year back it was almost unknown to maximum people. Now blockchain is very much self-dependent. It does not need FB or Twitter anymore.
Hope that we will find a good decentralized blockchain based competitors of those social media sites soon.  Wink
Exactly my point ! I don't know why some people around here think banning cryptocurrencies related ads will completely disrupt the crypto market. No it won't do any harm to the crypto market. There is a reason why these companies are banning crypto ads on their websites and I do believe they are doing the right thing. There are so many scam projects getting created just so that they can scam others and take their money. It is to stop these projects. The good ones will surely make their way in some way or the other.

This is not a war. This is a fight against fraud, now there are a lot of projects of scammers who want to raise money using only advertising.

I think this is due not to the fact that twitter and google do not like crypto currency, but only with the fact that at the moment there are a lot of rogue ICO

Big companies that primarily rely on ads are afraid that cryptos can end up being a Frankenstein monster that they can never control. Also scam ICO's  are partly to be blamed for this mess.

This is very nice,as soon as these giants banned all the cryptocurrencies ads the stakes in their social media platform would be bigger because the only way that these ICOs will be promoted is thru bounty hunters it only means hunters should be paid very well so that they will get promoted in the social media platform very well..

That's an interesting take

Possibly benefits of these bans:

- Reduction of scammy ICOs
- Reduction of paid phishing scam site ads on Google
- Increase in bounty pay for social media sites
- increase in quality crypto related content, products and services

I've got a question here, as I keep seeing similar threads related to the doom and gloom on this news. I may be the minority, but I think it's a good thing to add some regulation, albeit a strong regulation to start. The benefits you listed are not only 'possible', but certainly probably. You noted that this is really a technology and investment type still in its infancy stage. It's therefore very important to add some structure to this and protect the newcomers from the 'vultures' that are trying to scam people.

Now, Devil's advocate is of course that most people who may be scammed, are likely being scammed because they aren't doing their research and simply trying to make a quick buck. However, I'd argue that those of us here for the long run, and whom are actually interested in blockchain technology as a whole, and the benefits it can provide, are only going to be hampered by being getting burned - even if they 'have it coming'.

My question here, is what do you think the possible detriments of the blocking of ads? Did you enjoy having your Facebook/Twitter being swarmed with New ICOs ads that are a dime a dozen? Did anyone ever actually click on these that was really interested in the tech? Honestly, this type of ad, to me, is simply malicious phishing and I think the industry as a whole will benefit from tighter regulations.

Bounties will find themselves in a similar position, you'll have way less shill accounts spreading the word, but those that do continue to spread the word, will be people with merit or weight in the community. Keep in mind that there is no ban against individual users Tweeting out support for specific ICOs.

just my 2 cents

basically google and facebook want protect people from scam ICO or fake ICO but for those who running good ICO project and trustable i think they should not worried about these ban because people will choose them and they will still get plenty of investors
