Next week matches could be more interesting then this one.

In first Lyon vs Barcelona, Barca is favorite but Lyon could surprise thinking goals 2+ and barca win. Second match Liverpool vs Bayern, here think that Liverpool will win the match. Third game Atlético vs Juve, very interesting match Ronaldo is playing in Madrid, thinking on less then 3 goals. Last match see here that some pick on Schalke to win but think that MNC will win this match.

Ajax lost because the referee always impact the game up to a certain point.
Wrong. Ajax lost because their players were absolutely pathetic in front of goal. If they had a Benzema or Asensio, they would've won by 3 or 4 goals, instead, they have the likes of Neres and Dolberg, the latter could've scored the 2-2 in the several occasions, but he's shite so Ajax paid the price.

Can I get your predictions guys?
Lyon 0 - 4 Barcelona
Liverpool 2 - 1 Bayern

Atletico 1 - 1 Juve
Shalke 1 - 4 Man City

Anyone watching the Europa League tonight? I'm looking forward to Lazio vs Sevilla, and Celtic vs Valencia.

This should be goal even with VAR. Here is why goalkeeper was last one with the ball before goal, unfortunately this will happen with or without VAR.
Only after this one thing I dont understand why almost all referees have to make good call for RM in all competitions.
As long as it is up to a human to make the final decision supporters will never stop arguing.
VAR may help, but in some situations it is really hard whether it was an off or not.
I am not a Real Madrid's supporter but I think it was an offside since the attacker was the last player when the goolkeeper kicked the ball with his hand.

Var really changed the way game is played, maybe it would be really different in a game without VAR but thanks to it now game is played more correctly and we get the results properly. I have checked some leagues and the teams positions with and without VAR decision and it was so different. I mean it changed the positions of so many teams in so many leagues and now affects really important games as well.

Real Madrid has the advantage now but it was expected, I mean even tough the team is not doing that well this season they recovered well after the manager fired and now they are doing well in La Liga as well. So, 2-1 is definitely a score real Madrid is happy with and when they play on their own pitch the game will be really easy for them to just destroy Ajax. Ajax already did more than expected of them so its cool enough to get eliminated here.

I must say I'm sorely disappointed both favourites won last night. It doesn't look like it's over for Ajax yet, they just need to score 2 goals haha. Dortmund did thrash Athletico 4-0 and their young back four were due a thrashing so who knows?

Anyway, nice to see your picks Kenzawa. Liking the underdogs too?

My early picks for next game without any research on current situations?

Lyon 0 : 2 Barca
Liverpool 2 : 0 Bayern

Atlético 1:2 Juve
Schalke 2:1 City

P.S. Can you believe I only just found out today the old thread was locked? Anyone know why? I only dug in these threads when I saw a few. Good idea to start seasonal threads I guess. But in a way nice to see mega threads to refer back seasons...

Its never been easy to predict about these soccer matches because any team can do any performance in any match MU is doing good in recent matches and they still have chance

Bet on them then lol.

PSG has a better coach, will have most of its players back, are unbeatable at home... while MU will play without Pogba, its best player and will surely after this game have a big confidence drop.

^  They still could imo.  Next game's gonna be in their home turf, so that's def gonna help...  Bit Man United, nope, don't think so.  They need three goals away and without Pogba?  I'd be surprised if they do go thru.

I would say no chance for ManU because PSG is much stronger side than them which already proved.Three away goal will be impossible but Barcelona once beat PSG by the margin of 6-1 in second leg. Though ManU and Barcelona are not the same but football is a funny game & miracle could be happen.

These are two very different events.
This time, the game will be at home for Paris, not in Barcelona. And no disrespect but MU is no Barca, they don't have Messi and Neymar like that Barca team had.
No way PSG is letting this one go.

The VAR decision in the Real match yesterday was controversial but I don't think it was wrong. And I am saying that as a non-Real fan. Tadic was in a slight offside position and he was preventing the goal keeper from getting to the ball. Would the keeper have reached the ball without the Ajax player in his way? It is hard to say but referees can't speculate in that way. Goal keepers always have the referees protection in the 5 meter area whenever there is a contact.
Just bad luck for Ajax.

Real always get favourable decisions, UEFA love them.

Elsewhere, I watched the 1st half of Spurs vs Dortmund & the Germans were the better team. It wad 0-0 & I was bored so I turned over. Couldn’t believe the final score, Spurs are pretty much in the 1/4 final already. Can’t see Dortmund recovering from 0-3.

Ajax did well today and I don't think anything could be better than a 1 goal lead in the first leg. The problem is the 2nd game will happen in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium which is the home arena for Real Madrid, so managing up 2 goals for a win seems to be a hard task for the team. Home games like this would really be an advantage for teams who wants to secure a victory, especially for Madrid who is really strong in their home.

Amazing performance by Tottenham. If first half was equal more or less, second half was absolutely one-sided. It was one of the best matches of Tottenham this season. It was difficult to expect for such result before game, but now we can say that Spurs are 95% in next round.
Ajax - Real. Very interesting game, Real lreached victory without playing their best football. Referee decision to cancel Ajax goal was very questionable. Yes, Tadic was in offside, but did he really participated in attack? And Ajax wasted so many lethal moments to score... They played great football, but it's not enough to win or reach draw at least.

Very good performance from Tottenham but very very poor from Dortmund. The Spurs deserves the qualification to the next stage from the great performance they had in the first match. This team needs to chase a big title like Champions League.
Real once again played mediocrely but they got the result. I think they will have an easy night at Bernabeu in the next game.
