Europa League RO16:

Chelsea vs. Dynamo Kyiv
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb vs. SL Benfica
Napoli vs. RB Salzburg
Valencia vs. Krasnodar
Sevilla vs. SK Slavia Praha
Arsenal vs. Stade Rennais
Zenit vs. Villarreal

Not many exciting matches, I think the only game worth watching will be the Frankfurt vs Inter, and maybe Napoli vs Salzburg.

My prediction: Chelsea, Inter, Benfica, Napoli, Valencia, Sevilla, Arsenal, Zenit. If they all end up qualifying, the quarter finals are going to be really good.

Wrong topic LOL
It goes here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.49867134

Anyway, my picks are:
Chelsea
Eintracht Frankfurt
Benfica
Napoli
Valencia
Sevilla
Arsenal
Zenit

Why 3 weeks between each 1st & 2nd leg? Seems too long, I’m sure it used to be 2 weeks.

It used to be 2 weeks but they changed that. As you can see only 2 games have been played each Champions League day for 2 weeks. I think that this happens in order that Champions League and Europa League phases are aligned.

Barcelona to win
Liverpool to win
Juventus to win
Man City to win
As you can see I had a bad week. Only the Man City match was correct for me. However at some stage when City was 1 - 2 down and one red card were shown I thought I lost that too.

PSG seems like they are always good and rivaling any team but always somehow lose but they might have a shot this year as well.
I think PSG may make it to the final. They are showing consistence performance in this CL

Do you guys think this is the year for Liverpool? They seem to be amazing at some games and not so well in some games, its like they are either black or white never in between. If they play their best games against these teams they could win it but if they play not so well games against these teams they will be humiliated.

British teams have been decent lately, Manchester city is came back from deficit and took over the leader position from Liverpool (even tough with one game more) and now they won against schalke albeit a weak opponent for a team at Manchester cities level but still a good win with 10 people left. I think it has been a while since a British team won, it may be time to actually test that out. PSG seems like they are always good and rivaling any team but always somehow lose but they might have a shot this year as well.

A bad day for Ronaldo and also for Juventus.Atletico Madrid got advantage on first leg. They are two goals ahead and this will be very tough for Juventus to get back from this. All I know is, a very interesting second leg is waiting for us.

Manchester City shows its class. Despite playing in opponent's home and with a one-player deficit from the 68th minute, they were able to show a pretty impressive performance.
I wouldn't say it was an 'impressive' performance, defence was sloppy throughout the whole game, two dumb penalties and a red card, and their midfielders didn't have the best day. Let's not forget that they were playing against a team that's close to the relegation zone in the Bundesliga, they should've won by 4 or 5 goals at least.

And I believe Man City won, not because of an epic comeback, but because the opponent was Shalke 04: that first goal was just a dumb mistake from the GK. 2-1 up against a 10-man Man City and they didn't know if they should go for the 3rd goal (they failed in that regard since they didn't have a shot on target other than the pens), or park the bus? (also failed since they don't know how to defend, the 3rd goal came from yet another mistake). Credits to City for not giving up, but man Shalke are just so bad.

Europa League tonight. I wonder if we'll see any upsets? Will Arsenal get KO'd? Can Malmo take advantage of Chelsea's poor form domestically and win?

I feel Atletico were unlucky to have Morata goal ruled out for offside, but soon two goals from Atletico ended Juventus hopes for a draw.
It wasn't ruled out for offside. It was ruled out due to an offensive foul. Morata pushed Chiellini from the back just before jumping and heading the ball.

I think what decided the Atl Madrid - Juve match was the mentality that 'modern day' footballers apply ever so often. I am talking about dropping on the ground, holding their faces in agony and expecting the referee's whistle will be in their favour. We saw it on Morata's goal by Chiellini, luckily for Juventus it worked in their favour, and we saw the same mentality by Bonucci during the corner for the 1:0 goal. Had he stayed on his feet like he should have Juve might not have conceded the first goal.

2-3 win for Man City with one man down, yeah, if you can't beat a 10-man Manchester City, it's very unlikely that you'll beat them at their stadium with the entire starting XI. Good run, Shalke 04, you did your best.

Maybe the season that Manchester City will reach the Champions League final and challenge the title has come. They played solid even with 10 players and now the second leg will be one-sided I think as Man City will conquer the match from the beginning. I was expecting a tie because Schalke tried a lot their best and they deserved something better.

The games yesterday were beautiful to watch. Many goals scored and Atletico Madrid game could also have ended 5-0 but Juventus were helped a bit by the VAR.

Manchester City I thought would lose but they did an awesome comeback, yesterday games were different from Tuesday games.

@kenzawak, you almost got it right. I actually predicted 2-0 Athleti win too, but a surprise win for Schalke... which I almost got too. Betting wise I did badly, because I bet on Juventus-Sevilla parlay... and a 12/1 bet on Schalke. Losing it in the last 5 minutes is pretty painful.

Looks like City will get the better of this. I can't see Schalke scoring 2 goals on the return leg. I'll definitely bet on them if odds are above 20/1 haha.

It will be a real shame to see Juventus out before QF. Ronaldo not quite the lucky charm for the Italians?

Atlético vs Juve         2-0
Schalke vs Man Cify   1-2

My predictions weren't that bad.
For me, Atletico is now clearly the favorite. Simeone's team is good defensively and it will be hard for Juve to score at least 2 against them.

True on this. both matches have intense usage of VAR technology on this I mainly mean that in both  matches crucial decisions were made with VAR. Was this good or bad its on UEFA to decide. Many leagues use this. On matches great performance from MNC they won with player short, and on ATM they have very good advantage for next match.

What a comeback from Man Cty in the last 5 mins. 2 goals in the last 5 mins by Stirling and Sane to take the lead 2-3. Even though they were down to 10 men after 68th min with Otamendi getting a 2nd yellow and out of the match. You should never sleep on Man City or they will burn you with their pacy wingers. Atletico Madrid also come out with a 2-0 win and will make the 2nd tie interesting to see if Juve can answer it at home.

Manchester City shows its class. Despite playing in opponent's home and with a one-player deficit from the 68th minute, they were able to show a pretty impressive performance. MCT has a mentality as a champion. While in other matches, Juventus were made helpless by Atletico Madrid. A 2 goal deficit will be a heavy obstacle for Juventus to play the second game.

Today's match was lovely cause all the team I chooses won although my goal prediction was just a goal different but I'm suprised with Manchester city performance this evening despite the fact that Otamendi was out of the match they still play pretty good and use well chances by scoring two goals acouple of minutes before the end of the match.

I am stunned by the way Manchester City scored that last minute goal, despite being down to 10 men they were able to win the game. The biggest surprise of the night was Atletico Madrid defeating Juventus, I can bet no one saw it coming. I feel Atletico were unlucky to have Morata goal ruled out for offside, but soon two goals from Atletico ended Juventus hopes for a draw.
Sick comeback though from Manchester City, even with 1 red card, they still can manage to make 2 goals. The 2nd leg on Man City home, it should be easy for Man City. On the other hand, Juventus lose 0-2, i'm surprised Juventus can't make a single goal on that match. There are many chances from Ronaldo,

I watched it until the last minute and in my opinion the Liverpool vs Bayern match was very balanced and ended scoreless, and there were many opportunities for Liverpool to score in the Bayern goal but it was not used well.
and Leg 2 Liverpool will meet at Bayern later, in my opinion it is very difficult to win a match that will determine to enter the top 8 and the bayern will play well at home.
Who would have thought that both match will end with 0 - 0. It was a boring day for Champions League. In the Liverpool vs Bayern match Mane missed too many easy chances. I hope Liverpool don't do the same in Premier League match against Man Utd.

In yesterday's match, comparatively I would say Bayern played well. I am not up for any prediction this evening. Had enough yesterday LOL

Well, i hope we will not get the same result for today matches. Atletico Madrid vs Juventus, both have same odds and this match play at ATM home. I guess it will be a hard game for Juventus even with Ronaldo, let's see how long Juventus can run in champions league.
Atm successfully defeated Juventus 2-0 in the second round although the dominant Juventus always attacked with 62% in the second half but could not produce goals and there were only a lot of opportunities for Juventus and in my opinion the first half Juventus also played very well and excelled at 57% and Atm 43%, and last night's match in my opinion is very interesting and I estimate that Juventus can beat Atm in the second round with a thin score and finally vice versa.
in my opinion Ronaldo is much better at playing with the Real Madrid team, and it seems that Ronaldo's name was not too popular anymore when he joined Juventus.

I want to see how Juventus will try to overcome this.
Fun fact (i'm on fire with 'fun facts' today): Juventus haven't been able to comeback from a 2-0 loss in european competitions, ever.

Awful game for Juve tonight, Dybala and Pjanic, their main playmakers, were absolutely terrible, Bernardeschi did a lot more in 10 min than Dybala in 80 min. 2nd leg will be really exciting, I wouldn't discard Juventus just yet.

Exactly my view, Juventus are not a high scoring team and, Atletico Madrid are not a high conceding team, I highly doubt there will be a comeback in which Juventus will qualify, but anything can still happen in the 2nd leg at the Turin, and Ronaldo's tie winning mentality will duly be needed if that's ever going to be the case.
