AC Milan vs. Napoli is another fascinating matchup. At their base, Napoli, which has been very consistent in the Serie A and Champions League, lost by a wide margin of 0-4 to AC Milan. Napoli holds a commanding lead in the Serie A standings, the defeat before their first-leg match will have some psychological effects on both teams. AC Milan at San Siro will be more certain and less constrained. Napoli needs to refuel its lineup and does not feel invincible. Before the first leg with AC Milan, they can regain their confidence in the match with Lecce.

At least the current Chelsea supporters are relieved that management has done what they want. Actually, for a long time, Chelsea supporters have urged Chelsea to immediately fire Graham Potter because they were deemed unable to make a difference to the game from Chelsea. It may take a long time for the Chelsea management to make a decision whether or not to sack Potter, and now that decision has been made.
Yes, even though it's late, it's the right decision. For the time being, maybe the coaching duties will be given to the interim coach, Bruno Saltor. It's interesting to wait for Saltor's progress with Chelsea. Normally Chelsea are very lucky with the interim coach.

I remember Chelsea's success in the 2011/2012 season. At that time, Roberto Di Matteo was assistant to Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea. Then he was promoted to interim coach when his boss was fired.

But something unexpected happened under the leadership of the Italian coach. Di Matteo managed to lead Chelsea to the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club's history. Not only that, Chelsea also won the FA Cup trophy that season. Is Bruno Saltor able to repeat Di Matteo's success?
The situation with Potter had become unsustainable and everyone was mad about it, the fans did not liked Potter probably since the very beginning and the lack of results made this even worse, the players were skeptical and finally even the people at the top at Chelsea had to give in, and while late they had no other option, however this will make even harder to achieve victory on the Chelsea they will sustain with Real Madrid next week.

I don't understand why the Bayern Munich management sacked Nagelsman. Nagelsman was a good enough coach. And Bayern Munich's performance was not weak. Even so, the Munich management decided to fire Nagelsman. Potter, on the other hand, has had plenty of time to stabilize his team. But he failed completely. Chelsea management should have taken the decision to sack Potter earlier. However, Nagelsman looks more likely to be Chelsea's coach. Because Chelsea can't find an experienced coach like Nagelsman at the moment. If Nagelsman becomes the coach of Chelsea, I believe he can stabilize the team.

Bayern is a top club and it's not enough for them to be good or good enough. All top clubs need top results, and with last year's loss to Villarreal, even Bayern's excellent performance (at the time of Nagelsmann's dismissal) in the Champions League looked weak against the backdrop of the situation in the Bundesliga.
The only thing that surprised me was the timing, but this seems to be due to the fact that Bayern wanted Tuchel and insured themselves that he would leave for another club before he was hired.

Baern Munich had only one game after they started working with Tuchel but during this game, I saw them perform much better than I was expecting they had a plan for every minute of the game while when Nagelsmann was coaching this team I remember they sometimes had bad performance against weak teams. On the other hand, I wanted to see these two teams face each other in a semi-final or final match because it's too soon to say goodbye to Manchester City.

Benfica vs inter milan will surely be an interesting game benfica team are on fire both in their league and in the champions league on the otherhand inter are on a bad shape, even psg was not able to beat benfica, they are the favourite to make it to the semi finals, i think they will.

From a different perspective, I see Benfica is still normal, not as imagine.
Benfica qualified for the quarter-finals from a different level of opponent than Inter face, we can see the statistics on the journey of the two teams since the group phase
I don't side with either of the two teams because I'm more look forward to the Man City vs Bayern Munich match on the same day.
I think Benfica has been outstanding even since the group stage. remember that Benfica even topped the group until the end. even PSG, which is filled with star players, only finished second in the same group as Benfica. which means Benfica is ahead of PSG even in the group stage. but for the round of 16 I agree that Benfica doesn't have a strong enough opponent. so that Benfica can qualify easily enough for the quarter-finals.

but I also won't underestimate Inter Milan in the quarter-finals later. because even though Inter Milan has a bad match either in Serie A or in the Champions League. but still, Inter Milan's level of experience in the Champions League is far above Benfica. but I personally would favor Benfica.

But I understand a little bit about people's concerns about the change of coach that happened at the Bayern club. but after hearing that it was Tuchel my worries were relieved a little. because Tuchel is a coach who has a lot of experience in big competitions and won many trophies. and Tuchel has also proven that he is a very reliable coach in the match a few days ago in the Bundesliga we saw Bayern able to beat Dortmund very convincingly.
It's really normal for Bayern Munich beat Dortmund, without Tuchel Bayern Munich is already a good club and can beat every clubs in Bundesliga. Dortmund has lost many of good players because they're prefer to sell their players rather than develop their club to win in every league. The most disappointing of Dortmund when they get beaten by Chelsea which many people think Chelsea will easily lost and can't move to the next round.
Bayern Munich needed that change of manager to regain the confidence that was lacking in the team and they really got the right man as the replacement of their former manager. Thomas Tuchel's experience and tactical discipline is what they need especially after they were drawn against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter finals and even Pep Guardiola wouldn't be happy to face the man that stopped him from winning the Champions League for his darling Manchester City in the 2021 finals. There's so much confidence in the Bayern Munich team at the moment because of his arrival and the Bavarians might be ripping City apart when they face each other in the first leg next week

Yeah, Benfica are really really good, the way they play and their ability to score goals is unbelievable, they fully deserve to be in the QF, no question about that. I can say Inter Milan have rode their luck to this stage, but i think they have come to the end of the road in the CL, Benfica is definitely going to eliminate them. I would love to see Benfica v Napoli in the SF, i think Napoli would beat AC Milan in their QF tie, but seeing Napoli lose 4-0 to AC Milan in the seria A a couple of days ago has given me a second thought about that game, i'd keep my fingers crossed on that one, and watch how things develop.

There is no doubt that Benfica is very strong this season. Benfica's performance since the Champions League group stage has been excellent. This team is able to play well in the Champions League consistently. And the important thing is that Inter Milan is in a very bad situation right now. Their performances in Serie A have been very poor. In the last 5 matches, Inter Milan managed to win maybe one. When the team is so weak, it will be very challenging for Inter Milan to beat Benfica. But I expect Benfica to win this match.

however Munich is a strong team, and so is Dortmund. Unfortunately, Dortmund is not in a good game. they are more likely to be inconsistent in their performance.
Chelsea is not a very strong team at the moment, the performance is still unstable. but Dortmund lost to them. Although Munich had some problems at the start of the season, they have started much better now. I think Munich is quite ready to face Man City. it will be very interesting for the fans. both teams are strong, many have bet on Man City in the first leg, but they also have to see Munich is also a strong team to watch out for in the quarter-finals.

But Bruno Saltor needed time to adjust to the players. I think Bruno Saltor will find it difficult to deal with Carlo Ancelotti's tactics. Because Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most experienced coaches in the UCL. And he always looks relaxed when dealing with any opponent. Chelsea will not get this opportunity in the UCL under coach Bruno Saltor.

You cannot eat your cake and have it, Potter don't have enough time to make a come back, they were having hard time in Premier League, they had hard time in FA cup, the only place they had hope is Champions League here and they will be challenging Real Madrid, an opponent team that they couldn't beat the last time they met, if I am the owner of Chelsea, he deserved to live the club with immidiate effect. Nagelsman is yet to make any official statement regarding his sack, may be it is similar to what happen to Tuchel when he was in Chelsea.

Actually, for a long time, Chelsea supporters have urged Chelsea to immediately fire Graham Potter because they were deemed unable to make a difference to the game from Chelsea. It may take a long time for the Chelsea management to make a decision whether or not to sack Potter, and now that decision has been made.

It was a good decision to fire Potter early when Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel last September and signed a five year contract. However, during his seven months as coach he failed to change the fate of the Blues this season. The series of negative results obtained by Kai Havertz et al has made them now sit in 11th place in the standings.

It is said that Boehly had an emergency meeting with Potter on Sunday morning. Prior to coming to the meeting, it was reported that Boehly had no specific intention to fire the former Brighton coach. But after a few meetings, the decision to fire Potter was taken. Several Chelsea players were shocked by this sudden news.

Even worse, Chelsea fans had no sympathy for him for doubting his leadership, until there was a petition to immediately sack him as coach. So this is why there are many reasons to consider firing him early.

On the one hand I like it when coaches also can sign long-term contracts, but on the other hand it is shocking to see how these big clubs make their decisions. Bayern Munich and Chelsea both offered five years to their coaches, although Potter was due to get sacked whereas Nagelsmann was quite the surprise.

Klopp was asked what he thinks about Graham Potter getting sacked, and funny as Klopp is he said that he can't say anything about it because he must be rather surprised himself that he is still sitting on the Liverpool bench Cheesy

At least he has some sense of humor and is realistic.

Now with the game against Real Madrid I think Chelsea will definitely come to an end. Never say never but they play soccer like a chicken pile while they have some of the best names within their squad. How is that possible?

About Dortmund, of course it's very sad because even though at this moment Dortmund has a good performance but still, Dortmund is still eliminated in the Champions League. Even worse, Dortmund lost by Chelsea, which basically at this moment Chelsea's performance was worse than Dortmund. Of course, this result is very, very unfortunate, because Dortmund always fail in important matches.

But about Bayern Munich, I agree that Bayern Munich is a great team, and when Bayern Munich recruits a great coach, of course it will be easy for the coach to give good results for Bayern Munich. But the interesting thing is, Bayern Munich always gets great coaches so that Bayern Munich's dominance is always maintained in every season.

I have an interest in one of these Portuguese teams, Benfica performed well in the Group H preliminary round. In fact, they were able to provide resistance to a team that was quite tough in the group phase. besides, Benfica is on track to claim its Domestic League trophy with a 10-point gap from the team below it. what Benfica showed, is inversely proportional to the situation experienced by Inter. yes, Inter have not been so smooth when carrying out their matches in the group phase, even Inter had to work hard when they faced Porto in the round of 16 phase. also, what Inter has shown in their Domestic League has not been very consistent. that's why, I assume that Benfica has a chance to qualify for the next round. it's just that, however, I won't take Inter Milan lightly. because, they also have players who are pretty good.
for the Manchester City vs Bayern Munich match, I favored City as a strong candidate compared to other teams.

Their match is indeed interesting, but because at the same time and on the same date there is the Manchester City vs Bayern Munich match, of course football fans will see more of the match between Manchester City vs Bayern Munich. Even though the match between Benfica vs Inter Milan can also be very interesting because both of them are also very good teams during this season.

From a different perspective, I see Benfica is still normal, not as imagine.

Inter Milan's opponent this time in the Champions League is a tough opponent and shouldn't be underestimated because Inter might lose to Benfica. Because if you look at the achievements that have been obtained by these two teams this season in their respective domestic leagues, they are very different.

Inter Milan looks like they still have to fight to be in the top four of the Serie A standings, while Benfica is the leader of the standings in the Primeira Liga which is likely to also get a trophy there this season. So these two teams are teams that both have strengths and are certainly different, so Inter Milan should be very wary of Benfica in the Champions League this time.

Yes, many are happy with Potter's dismissal, I think it's natural because Chelsea's game did not progress when he was in training. I think it was Potter's fault that there were 2 reasons why Chelsea didn't develop.
The first thing I saw was that Potter really liked the players, because the players didn't get too much pressure from the coach. But this was a blunder for Potter himself because the results he achieved were very, very disappointing and there was no progress every week.

Second, Potter is always wrong in giving a line up or changing players in the second half. Indeed, many players piled up in the Chelsea squad. But Potter never replaced players who were not performing, including Havertz. Besides that, Potter is too special for native British players like RLC, and Gallagher.

Very tragic, the money spent by Todd Boehly could not be used by Potter to improve Chelsea performance. The Chelsea squad is already filled with quality players, but there are no signs of improving performance yet. The decisive action taken was very appropriate, Potter really deserved to be sacked because he had not been able to provide anything of value since being appointed as head coach of Chelsea. Potter's replacement will receive a baton full of thorns, whoever replaces Potter must be able to make Chelsea able to compete with other elite teams again.

Chelsea's worsening condition will be difficult to face Real Madrid. This situation is very profitable for Real Madrid, apart from acting as the home team in the first leg, Madrid is currently also in its best form.
Actually Todd Boehly was right to spend so much money to buy quality players, it's just that the mistake was when choosing a mediocre coach to handle Chelsea. Todd Boehley should have been more careful in choosing a coach, considering that Chelsea is not a small team. I think Todd Boehly should find a coach with a lot of experience and lots of trophies to lift the mentality of his players. And when I play against Real Madrid, I think it's too late with the current bad performance, even if I get a new coach, I think the result will be the same.
