I agree with your viewpoint. In football, especially before the start of the season, nothing is certain. However, if I may speculate, if Manchester City's squad undergoes minimal changes, they have a strong chance of winning the Champions League consecutively in the upcoming season, similar to what Real Madrid achieved in the past. As long as Pep Guardiola remains their head coach, I believe City has a great opportunity to achieve this feat.
If teams like Madrid, Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, and other strong contenders are not consistent, the door will be wide open for City. This would mark a new chapter in the history of the Champions League. From a statistical standpoint, they would become the first English team to accomplish such a feat. It would be truly fascinating if this were to actually happen.
Clearly, Man City will experience changes with the departure of several players. perhaps, currently only Gundohan has left City. the day after tomorrow, we'll never know. In addition, there are rumors that Riyad Mahrez is being teased to play for a Saudi League club. Bernardo Silva is no exception, who is rumored to be PSG's priority. if these players leave, Pep is quite overwhelmed to find a replacement. but not Pep's name, if he doesn't prepare his team long ago. that's why, Rice is currently a serious plan City. there are also, several other players. but in fact, even if these players leave. I believe, Pep will bring in no less great than the current team. even with young talents, they can show their strength better than last season.
IMO, the system that Pep has implemented is working and he just needs a little touch to complete it. maybe, this team will be as we discussed. or, possibly the other way around.
But certainly, as I said from the beginning. in fact, even the League competition has not been rolled out, we cannot measure how strong each team is competing this season. besides that, there is United who is strengthening his squad with several newcomers. Also, there are rumors that MU is interested in Osimhen again. I think this competition will offer exciting matches from teams competing in the Champions League. so, we just follow every development.
