This year uefa champions league round of 16 is not tough, the only tough matches in the round of 16 are Barcelona vs Napoli and Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan.
I don't think i'd agree with that, i think every match in the CL knockout stages is tough, of course there are going to be teams that are stronger and are favorites to win, but it always doesn't mean it would happen in that way, there would prolly be one or two upsets and even if there is none, the underdog teams can make the game tough and more interesting (even if they end up losing). The competition gets tougher and more interesting as it progresses, but even the RO16 can produce some cracking games.

Well, I think that Madrid as it is can make a difference and there is no doubt about that, I think that things can be very different because they are always going to do a lot of good things, on the one hand they have Vinicius, on the other hand they have Rodrygo He has Bellingham and that could make the difference, I don't see Mbappé in Madrid, I think Haaland is much better, I just hope they can bring Haaland, he would be much better than any player for now, but everything is up to him if he wants to leave or not from City, because the truth is I don't see that Pepe gives him as good opportunities as Ancelotti gives him, it's something that I couldn't say that could be as necessary, but with a coach like him it's the best, well that's it. I think the css can be, it's all about seeing them from the point of view that can improve the team, a new striker like him can change the team as mostly very attacking, in the event that Mbappé arrives, I don't know, no It seems to me that he could do so much because he is a very egocentric player and that doesn't help.
yep, we probably dont need to worry too much even though Ancelotti failed to bring in a pure striker like Mbappe but the players that Real Madrid have still look very good with some of the players you mentioned, especially Vinicius and Bellingham who currently seem to be key players for Madrid to continue to get the winning score to win the title in UCL and on the one hand we dont know for sure whether Madrid really failed to bring in a striker player or whether it would be a surprise to be able to bring in a truly quality player.

mbappe or Haaland are both very suitable to be Real Madrid strikers, its just that these two players seem really difficult to get because the team that has these two players also has the goal of trying to try their hand at the UCL this season so it little difficult to recruit these high quality players.
but who knows if it will be surprise because money can change a football player mind and I am more comfortable waiting for whatever player will be brought to Real Madrid, of course the player has very good quality talent but I support you if Haaland will be better suitable compared to Mbappe.
Honestly, I agree. Madrid's squad is formidable even without Mbappe or Haaland, but the conjecture is exciting. Vitius and Bellingham have shown that Madrid doesnt need a star striker to succeed. Ancelotti's skill development and team vision are shining. His approach of establishing a cohesive team rather than adding stars is admirable.

Mbappe's addition excites me. Madrid would soar. He'd add energy to Vinicius, Bellingham, and Rodrygo. Mbappe might make their team invincible. Im eagerly anticipating clarification, but Im confident in Ancelotti's strategy and the present squad's UCL impact.

I don't think PSV will actually be that much of a problem for Dortmund. The problems will be coming after they pass the Round of 16. Sure, PSV has beaten some good teams to get in the playoffs but Dortmund was in the group of death in my opinion. They topped a group where everyone thought they would be the bottom team. In their group, there were AC Milan, PSG and Newcastle. Newcastle performed very well in the last season in the Premier League but this season they are underperforming. But PSG and AC Milan are no joke. And they beat both of them to become the table topper.

PSV will not be a difficult opponent for Dortmund in the round of 16. I believe they will qualify to the Champions League quarter-finals because Dortmund has more experienced players than them, but PSV is in good form this season, topping their league table, and I believe they can give Dortmund some difficulties before winning the game, and the first leg is in PSV's home, which will give PSV more motivation to defeat Dortmund but it won't be an easy task for them, but anything can change because football is unpredictable The team you didn't expect to win the game will win it, however for now, psv are better than Dortmund in the league, but I believe Dortmund will never make mistakes to lose a game in the Champions League in the round 16 against PSV. I just think if they qualify to quarter-finals they will be knockout if they join them with Manchester City, Real Madrid, or BayernMunich, they will easily defeat Dortmund without stress. Cool
This round of 16 matchup is going to be tough. I'm looking forward to PSV vs. Dortmund, and I'm assuming that PSV can perform well against Dortmund because of their current performance. To be honest, they're in good form, unlike last season when they had a very low performance. I'm very sure Dortmund will find matches difficult because they will most likely be a challenge for them. That means that PSV will probably win this quarterfinal matchup, which will allow them to advance to the knockout stage.
This year uefa champions league round of 16 is not tough, the only tough matches in the round of 16 are Barcelona vs Napoli and Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan. I see Borussia Dortmund winning against PSV because Dortmund is more experienced than PSV in the uefa champions League, and Borussia Dortmund topped the group where clubs like PSG and AC Milan are.

There have been no news in recent times about mbappe or osimhen's negotiations with real Madrid so it's very likely neither of both will be joining the Spanish side by the recent transfer windows because if they were to join they would have most likely have some deal negation already on going but then there have not been any news of any yet
~

There has been no official news, but leaks say that Mbappe has already signed a contract with Real Madrid (the transfer will take place in the summer). Now there is no official announcement of this news, since apparently Mbappe wants to calmly finish the season for PSG and calmly leave without scandals and conflicts with the fans. Or maybe this news will be announced after Real and PSG either play each other in the Champions League or avoid this possibility (one of the clubs is eliminated).

~snip~
The quality of Manchester City have increased and its time to resume betting on the club because they're now consistent and doesn't fluctuate as before. Manchester City flogged Hundersfield 5-0 in the FA Cup. It was described as such an easy victory for the Citizens at Etihad stadium, everything running in path of their winning was smooth. Pep Guardiola is now relaxed because one of his key player have made return back to the squad after suffering a long term injury. Kelvin De Bruyne have measure crucial assist to Jeremy Doku who netted in style. I would gladly say, Manchester City have bounce back and they're extremely on different stats.
The real key to success that Manchester City has is Haaland and also De Bruyne, if these two players enter the field in every match, there is big possibility that the result will be win and of course last season was an example that both of them are players who always win until 3 championship titles.
Now Manchester City performance is slowly starting to improve, they are slowly providing quality that can prove that Manchester City is still one of the strongest teams.
For the UCL, this season will probably put more significant pressure on Manchester City because several other team are also performing very well, such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
This is different from last season where Manchester City could always finish the match very smoothly so they had the opportunity to compete until the final and win the UCL against Inter Milan.
Maybe Manchester City could win the title again but I will say again that it will not be as easy as last season.

It is clear that the mental differences in each competition are very different and when PSV is in the Champions League, their mentality will be even more drained when facing strong opponents in the round of 16. We know that PSV is very promising in the domestic league but that doesn't necessarily mean the results will be the same when it comes to the Champions League. Dortmund went through a difficult phase in the group stage and they even qualified first as champions in the hell group.

The capacities are different and cannot be compared overall and PSV is still a mediocre team in this competition. I may favor PSV at home but when they are away they won't necessarily be able to beat Dortmund. PSV must win by a fairly large aggregate margin if they want to qualify for the quarterfinals and their success is no more than 20% against Dortmund. I understand that in football it can still happen, but that cannot be used as a benchmark when the opponents are much more experienced in this competition.
There's difference in the intensity of some football contests and it sure affects how the general team's view of the game would be. The UCL is one competition that as the stage advances, the intensity increases and so does the clubs respectively try to blend into the new task ahead. PSV need to get prepared in the task ahead, it's not very easy but there’s no harm in trying.

PSV are doing excellently well overtime in their league, there's no much hike in the league race pressure, they've been able to set right grounds for themselves but situation is different in the UCL, their fate is unpredictable, they just have a glimpse of how their opponent is in their minds and await to see the playing style on the pitch. Their approach to UCL games can't be compared to that of their domestic league and thesame goes for every other club in various contests too.

Real Madrid's manager Carlo Ancelotti have confirmed not sign any players yet in this transfer window and Kylian Mbappe is not in his transfer players name list, I think he has enough with current striker right now Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and Joselu.
Not really bad with Real Madrid attacking line performance in this season because they have good performance between Champion League and La Liga.
But not close with opportunity for next season to sign Mbappe because he will be free agent but Real Madrid want to focus on Champion League and lead until final round than get difficult way for signing Mbappe.

Dortmund aren't performing very good in the Bundesliga but they are the opposite in the Champions League. Finishing that group of death as leader is a really great work done by them.  Smiley

In this stage I don't think PSV are strong enough to eliminate them. PSV had big difficulties against Arsenal in the group stage you know. I expect the same thing to happen against Dortmund as well. The first leg is in Netherlands so this is probably PSV's only chance of doing good things. A draw may be achievable by them here but at Signal Iduna Park Dortmund should finish the job.

Dortmund beat much more challenging opponents like Newcastle and Milan in the group stage in the end.  Smiley

Manchester City really need his presence in the squad to help improve their attack. The Cityzen had lost their best momentum since losing De Bruyne, they had slipped several times in the EPL which made them lose the top of the standings. Manchester City still has a big chance to win the UCL trophy in a row, they must be able to return to their best playing form like last season to compete with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid who appear consistently in different competitions. De Bruyne's presence will create a different atmosphere in the squad, he is expected to make a contribution that can improve the quality of Manchester City's game.

It's just matter of time till manchester city will able to perform even better than before. I have heard that many people talked about the return of de bruyne and haaland. This makes me feel better caused by manchester city will able to get back their best players.
Other clubs must be feeling scared to face city. City is going to win UCL again this season as long as there will be haaland and de bruyne play in the club. having all of them in the squads will increase the self confidence owned by manchester city.
I can't wait for those guys to perform again for manchester city. i can't even imagine how big the hype once de bruyne will able to play again soon. Im sure that many people are also waiting for them to play in the main club.
It's caused by manchester city has been trying so hard to win the competition last season and those guys were performing pretty well. This is another chance owned by manchester city to show to the world the true city. `

Dortmund's opponent in the last 16 of the Champions League is the leader of the Dutch Eredivisie, which Dortmund basically cannot underestimate. Because PSV is a team that has amazing strength in its local league, Dortmund needs to play well enough and not make too many mistakes. Because in this round of 16, all teams will try better in order to qualify for the more challenging round, namely the last eight, so Dortmund needs to perform as well as possible to win at PSV's home ground.
I don’t see PSV as a strong opponent compared to Dortmund. I think PSV should be worried about Dortmund. PSV struggled to qualify from their group, they have not had a good run competing in the champions league this season which makes me doubt they will be able to progress pass Dortmund in the knockout stage.

Let's not say that when they eventually face each other at home on the twentieth of February, PSV are also very strong whenever it comes to games played at home.
Borrussia Dortmund might have the better of them when they eventually travel to Germany to face em. Dortmund are not too much of a big side in the Champions League, and even if they go pass this round, they are most likely to be knocked out of the next round.

Amongst the fixtures, another that draws my attention is the Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid game, I would love to pay close attention and see how the finally ends for the best Attacking club in Seria A.

Indeed City played a great game but they need De Bruyne back as quick as they can if they want to go back 2 back UCL champions. This season is way hard for them to conquer the trophy and from my point of view , I do think Bayern are the 1st favorites and then City and Real but you are right , De Bruyne presence will be felt as soon as he steps on the pitch and City also needs him for EPL fight.  Cool

The Man City team really hopes for the presence of De Bruyne because his role is very important. Without De Bruyne, Man City experienced difficulties and experienced a decline in the EPL, unlike last season, where De Bruyne appeared more often and appeared aggressive as an attacking midfielder. However, now De Bruyne has been declared back in the Man City squad and can return to strengthen Man City in fighting for the EPL and UCL titles because Pep Guardiola will definitely focus more on this competition because Man City still has a big chance to win 2 titles again like last season .

Dortmund have not been able to balance their game after Jude Bellingham had to be sold to Real Madrid, this is an important lesson for them to be more careful when they want to let go of a player, especially since the player's appearance in the team is quite crucial because a decline is very likely to occur unless they can quickly get a replacement which is balanced.
Against PSV in the last 16 of the Champions League, Dortmund will get a fairly balanced opponent or maybe they will be better than their opponent to win the first meeting even as an away team and only with a narrow score so the second meeting will be easier for them at home.
My prediction is that this will still be a match that Dortmund can overcome to advance to the quarter-finals and for the semifinals, it will really depend on their next opponents but it could be that the quarter-finals are their last step in the Champions League.
They're doing it their way in this and I think it's still good enough for Dortmund to do well in the Champions League Speaking about the ability  and depth of the squad at the moment Dortmund will definitely lose when compared to some strong club like Manchester City, Bayern and Madrid but don't forget in the group phase where it is filled with strong clubs and categorized as hell group the fact that Dortmund are at the top of the table and beat strong opponent PSG Milan and Newcastle it already show some very good thing for Dortmund in their capital for the Champions League.
Currently in the Round of 16 they will face PSV and I am still quite sure  they can still fight more especially with their situation which is still balanced in terms of strength i think Dortmund can still improve. Even if in the end they may not be able to  be champions but they are always profitable in their own way.

The pressure on them will be even greater to maintain their status as champions for the second time in a row. Many clubs will try to overtake them and now I see the competition is more even, because last season their strength was very prominent so when they could become champions it was something that was predicted beforehand. Let's see Real Madrid this season, I have to say that they are better this season than last season, they look more prepared now.
I'm sure Manchester City's target is to win back the title in the Chmpions League this season, but the problem is that their strength seems to have been understood by some clubs and they will certainly be better able to anticipate what Manchester City can do this season. They also look declining, especially after losing players who have been their mainstay in every match.

In my opinion, Dortmund cannot compete if they continue to experience a decline in performance in the domestic league because that is also a reflection of what exists in different competitions and even though they escaped from the hellish group some time ago, that doesn't necessarily make them feel safe in the bigger rounds. So I hope they remain consistent in the Champions League by producing good results in the two legs.

Agree. Overall, Very weak. It's hard not to criticize individual players.
The players are not hungry enough to win the Bundesliga
Terzic's role is crucial for the team. Edin Terzic has to think quickly about the right tactics and starting XI when facing PSV.
Yes, Dortmund is more favored. But PSV has Peter Bosz, who knows Dortmund very well.
And the PSV players are quicker, more confident, and composed in front of the goal.

Well Ancelotti not bringing Mbappe in this summer means there’s no much cause for worry as he’s satisfied with his current team. No doubt this current team can get him the victories and goals he wants. Jude and Vini Jnr are key to this young squad even though we can’t fail to recognize the fact that the team plays without a key striker. Probably Madrid can be up to surprise us and get in a very key and natural striker and that’s very possible to happen in the summer.

Haaland to Real Madrid, this sounds crazy but well Money could do the magic. Madrid are big spenders so also Man City but I don’t think Real Madrid will be out for Haaland though, However I came across a transfer news from the famous Journalist Fabrizio that Mbappé has accepted a move to Madrid by Summer, if true then it's a goodnews for Madrid, imagine a front three of Vini Jnr, Mbappé and  Rodrygo then with Jude Bellingham as an attacking midfielder, damn!

Having him in the club will be surely making the club to be the best one in the world. It's caused by there were many great players being placed in the same team like real madrid. I put all of my respects for ancellotti caused by he has been trying so hard to build the team from the bottom. Ancelotti has a very good vision for the future and this is the main reason real madrid was extending his contract. Bellingham vini and rodrygo were enough for madrid but putting mbappe in the formation will be even better.
We can talk to see madrid uses 2 wingers 1 striker and 1 attacking midfielder which was very good for the club. This is not only my main reason, but it is also what convinces me that Real Madrid will once again be triumphant in the competition.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that with the current composition, Madrid will be able to perform at an even higher level. I am anxiously waiting for the news to confirm whether Mbappe has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to move there.

but who knows if it will be surprise because money can change a football player mind and I am more comfortable waiting for whatever player will be brought to Real Madrid, of course the player has very good quality talent but I support you if Haaland will be better suitable compared to Mbappe.
