I don't think it is a mistake to buy Højlund. He is still very young and he has a good skill, he can be an asset for Man United future. The mistake is on the tactic applied by Ten Hag. He shouldn't put Højlund as Man United main striker, he should be as a substituted striker. Sure, his transfer fees seems too expensive, not sure why Ten Hag wants to pay that amount of money.  Undecided

I agree that Man United needs an experienced striker. But I don't know which experienced striker who wants to move to Man United. With the worse performance of Man United this season, a striker like Osimhen or Mbappe must have no interest to join. Ten Hag seems have very limited options for experienced strikers.
I don't think Manchester United needs an experienced striker but they need a striker who can make a lot of difference. The problem that I often see with Manchester United's center forwards is that they don't get enough support from their teammates, which has been experienced by Martial and Rasmus Højlund this season.

Ten Hag may need to try a strategy without a center forward and maximize wingers and attacking midfielders. Rasmus Højlund is a good striker and has a pleasing finish, but he will never shine like Haaland if he doesn't have full support.

I think more than anything in Manchester United they needs to change his thoughts about the team because he made many mistakes and now there's a chance for this coach do to the same mistake again during the winter. Macnshter United was a good team the Chmaonios eageu years ago but I think this Manchester City we see, is not even a good competitor for other teams during this tournament.

Even though Bayern Munich does not have anything to play for since they qualified for the Uefa Champions League last 16, Bayern Munich would like to beat Manchester United to protect their pride of not losing to a big side like Manchester United. With the current form of Manchester United, they will find it difficult to beat Bayern Munich.
There is even more than pride here for Bayern to play for, when looking at the rest of the teams on Group A which one out of those teams seems like the one that could become more dangerous if they were to improve during the next weeks and months? And to me Manchester United takes that spot, so instead of just letting them remain on the competition and give them the chance to improve themselves and become a dangerous rival, why not eliminate them on the spot by beating them now that they are not playing well?
True, the better thing for them to eliminate manchester united instead of giving it another chance but united is already on the very difficult position. If bayern can't eliminate manchester united from UCL and copenhagen/galatasaray will able to do that.
If MU win but one of team from galatasaray vs copenhagen win the game and MU will still be eliminated. Mu will be out from UCL and ten hag must be ready for so many blames that are going to come for him.

MU fans may be will mockering him or even said that tenhag out. It seems the time for manchester united to get the fuck out from the club once he will able to maintain his performance in MU.
Losing during the group stage? there's no bad result other than it. Ten hag needs to think whether he was capable enough to handle the club or he shall leave from united as a coach.

This is not entirely correct; Bayern Munich played to win their last match against Copenhagen, but they were simply unlucky due to Copenhagen's defensive mindset. Copenhagen knew it would be difficult to beat Bayern Munich, so they immediately fought for a draw, which they obtained at the end of the game. When they beat Galatasaray in their final group stage match, the one point from this match will give them an advantage on the table and a better chance of qualifying for the knockout stage.

I think Bayern Munich didn't take them serious or it was because they think they are qualified already with the points they have gather even from the short on target, Copenhagen had twice what Bayern Munich had in that game which means that Copenhagen put more to win that match than Bayern Munich did. It's good that they are staying in the second place. The race for the second place is now between Copenhagen and Galatasaray, however I think Copenhagen has more chances because it's their home match.

Quote
This is exactly what will happen; Bayern Munich will either win or draw the game. If either of these two outcomes occurs in this match, Manchester United will be eliminated from the Champions League competition, and they will not even be eligible for a Europa League spot if they do not win all three points in the match.

People that are yet to give up on Manchester United are doing false hope. Why didn't Mancj United do all they had when they started the Round 1 group stage, it's now the are praying to win their last match to get 3 points to qualify and Galatasaray with Copenhagen draw, it will not happen. I don't expect that to happen because Bayern has fall off in their last match, they will do anything to avoid control damage against Manchester United, they should try and face their domestic league and try next season.

I'd like to see Bayern Munich seriously playing this game, I want them to punish Manchester United even of I have a soft spot for Manchester United. They have got to be the worst Premier League side in the Champions League Competition. And even if same energy is returned to Europa League, they'll definitely be knockout still. The total team performance is beyond repair. It'll cost th some games, amd I hope Erik Ten Hag won't lose the game against Liverpool in the Premier League

Anyways, Galatasaray should win, they have a better squad to Copenhagen. They're quite difficult with a tactical genius as coach who has energetic youngins to high press for him and his tactics.

I grabbed your point. Manchester United might struggle to reach the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League and they might knock out Bayern Munich in a quarter or semi-finals If they meet. Bayern Munich should stop them from qualifying for the knockout stage of the Uefa Champions League since Manchester United is a threat.

I think you have a point here and that totally makes sense. It is best to eliminate them now so that they won't ever have a chance to hurt you in the later stage of the game. Things like this has happened several times in football history and Bayern Munich knows this very well and won't let it happen. Just imagine they allow Manchester United qualify and United now beings in more players by January and becomes stronger and meet Bayern in finals and eventually win Bayern in the game. So Bayern will crush them totally now.

I slightly disagree as first of all Manchester United won't hurt more down the road than they do now and their game is at best on par with Galatasaray and Copenhagen, so it doesn't really matter who makes it into the next round.

Second, if Bayern gets the chance to do some rotation where needed, give some breaks or also give some of the players who didn't play as much some additional experience, that is probably ten times more valuable than thinking about an opponent they could be facing in a few rounds from now. Bayern will use that game for a lot of things, but they won't consider who will finish second behind them.

I don't know why Højlund was added to the squad by coach Ten Hag. Manchester United's performances last season were erratic. And the team needed an experienced striker. But Ten Hag bought youngster Højlund at a high price without adding an experienced striker to the squad. And as usual, Højlund's erratic performance has made Manchester United's overall performance quite poor. Also Manchester United's match strategy is not good. So Højlund doesn't fit in well with the team. I wouldn't say Højlund isn't being helped by his teammates.

We have clueless players that have experienced fatigue in games and they're probably having good taste of the game. Manchester united have a standout striker, he's new to the club and already having one of the very best performance in the UEFA Champions League competition this season, but regarding the English Premier League, he's yet to record any solid stats and that's pretty poor on his end. Rasmus Højlund is focused on establishing himself in Old Trafford and under Erik Ten Hag but his teammates are not helping matters at all.
I don't know why Højlund was added to the squad by coach Ten Hag. Manchester United's performances last season were erratic. And the team needed an experienced striker. But Ten Hag bought youngster Højlund at a high price without adding an experienced striker to the squad. So Højlund doesn't fit in well with the team. I wouldn't say Højlund isn't being helped by his teammates.

As a center forward, Rasmus Højlund is not bad. He must be the center of attention of his teammates by making him the target man in every match. The problem is that all Manchester United players have their own egos and tend not to put the interests of the team first. If Rasmus Højlund is the target man, then I think he will be a striker who can help Manchester United.

The egos of Manchester United players are very difficult to manage because in reality they really want to prove themselves better than other players. Rasmus Højlund doesn't get much help as a center forward, that's a fact that shouldn't be hidden. I think Rasmus Højlund is a quality striker in the team and the right strategy.

So Højlund doesn't fit in well with the team. I wouldn't say Højlund isn't being helped by his teammates.

In the last summer transfer window, there weren't many options to bring in a pure striker, let alone an established one. Previously, Ten Hag had included Harry Kane on their list to bring to Old Trafford. However, as we know, even Bayern had to dig deep into their pockets for players who were about to turn 30 during the last transfer window. Meanwhile, United does not have the budget to buy Kane at the price Spurs want. and if they force only one player, it means they won't be able to bring in other players as newcomers. As for Osimhen, his transfer price is much more fantastic than Kane. Ten Hag tries to find alternatives with a limited budget. In the end, Vlahovic became one of their targets. but for some reason, Ten Hag didn't bring him to Old Trafford. It could be that no deal was reached because the price was too expensive, or Ten Hag had other options. in the end, they brought Højlund from Atalanta.

According to official sources conveyed from United's website at that time, Ten Hag had a special interest even though he knew that Højlund was not a pure sticker who was ready to use. but because there weren't many choices and Ten Hag had Marcus Rashford, they finally brought him to Old Trafford.
By the way, whatever player United is targeting, the price will automatically increase and it will be fantastic. So it is very natural that Højlund was brought in at a slightly excessive price.

For me the point is not with Højlund, but with the other United players.  We can see that it is not uncommon for Rashford to play badly and be lazy lately. apart from that, Ten Hag was unable to apply his playing style and system because many of his core players were injured. as for the matches they win, it's not uncommon for ugly wins. Apart from that, there were several problems that occurred in the United camp with several of their players. So, I'm curious, is this purely Ten Hag's fault. Suppose Ten Hag is fired. United's problems will not be better, just like previous coaches. that's why, there is an idea that Don Carlo could be the best option for United. because one of United's problems is in their dressing room.

Well, apart from all that, we'll see when United play Bayern Munich on matchday six of the group phase.

There are only two teams that have achieved perfect points in the last 5 matches and that is Real Madrid and Manchester City. These two teams are indeed the ideal finals in each season, but we also don't know the possibility of the two of them meeting first, whether in the quarterfinals or semifinals. These two teams have collected 15 points and only one match remains to close the group stage with 18 points. I can't wait to see these two teams fighting together to be in the higher rounds in the future and also with the new squad depth this season it is clear that the match will be quite even.
Probably two of the best football clubs in Europe right now, and both teams are really doing great both in the champions league and in their domestic leagues respectively with Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish laliga with 38 points tied Girona who are in second place whilst Manchester city are in second place behind arsenal with 30 points. The chances that both teams may clash again this season is very high, though one cannot tell wether its gonna be in the round of sixteen, the quarter finals or the semi's but if they both progress beyond these levels then we might see both teams meet in the finals of the UCL which is also possible as a result of their performance this season.
I could agree with that, a finals at UCL where these two teams meet could be super fun, I mean we have seen them face earlier than that, not during the finals as far as I can remember, we have seen City beat Inter recently, we have seen Madrid beat Liverpool, or City beat Chelsea, but we have not seen Real and City play each other during the finals.

Something like that could very well be one of the most watched UCL finals of all time, it would definitely be a huge deal and be decent without a doubt. I understand that we may feel like it is not going to end up with something that would be critical, it just has to be something that will be all that much more important but at the same time we are talking about huge amount of betting all around the world too.

The problem is that even though Manchester United plays against the second eleven of Bayern Munich, Manchester United will not still win against Bayern Munich. Manchester United should just forget about qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League and focus on winning their Premier League matches.
It is very understandable for everyone frustration when they see Man United current fate, and I think the situation will become even more complicated in the future. Maybe if they lose to Bayern later, Ten Hag will most likely be fired and management will appoint an interim coach this season. We can see that Tuchel will not relax his enthusiasm, he will still try to bring his club to beat United.

Apart from that, if the scenario changes and United wins, even though it is no longer meaningful in determining qualification, for Red Devils fans this is a matter of pride at home. United will have the ambition to avenge their defeat at the Allianz Arena, and Bayern will have the ambition to humiliate United once again.

For Bayern this match was like walking in the park, not at United house. This cannot be separated from the difference in pressure felt by the two teams, Bayern is in a safe position while United must win the match, and must pray that the Copenhagen versus Galatasaray match ends in a draw. For Ferguson, It became cataract to see Ten Hag manage his former club like that.

Bayern Munich failed to beat Copenhagen at home just because they had already qualified for the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League. I bet you Bayern Munich will want to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford even if they had qualified for the next round of the Champions League.
Bayern Munich will win Manchester united if they had their qualification at stake, considering their present form, they have a better form than that of Manchester united and on a normal day they will win Manchester united with a good goal margin with little or almost no stress due to Manchester's current form.

In this match, I doubt if that will be the case because Firstly Manchester united is considered to have something at stake meanwhile Bayern Munich almost has none, checking back at the last time both teams met in the UCL the game ended in a draw, although I would possibly say Manchester united was in AA better form than they are now and their form most recently has been so inconsistent and almost unpredictable so I can't tell, probably the consciousness of what's possibly at stake could likely get them to perform better and Bayern may use their rotational players to preserve their key players because they have almost not at stake so this may be the advantage Manchester united may have, so we can't be too certain at this moment who will win by the end of the match.
Even though Bayern Munich does not have anything to play for since they qualified for the Uefa Champions League last 16, Bayern Munich would like to beat Manchester United to protect their pride of not losing to a big side like Manchester United. Bayern Munich would take this match serious because they want to let people know that they are still superior over Manchester United. I know that Manchester will try their best but they wouldn't be able to win the match because they are too weak to play Bayern Munich.

Manchester United should go and start preparing for Europa because that is why they can manage to win weak clubs that are in the same bad shape like them. The UCL is bigger than Manchester United team this season, and they need a new coach that can make a difference in the club.

They will definitely want to win the away match against United. However, since Bayern Munich have already qualified for the round of 16, this match is not important for them. Bayern Munich did not play to win against Copenhagen in the last match. Their performance was a bit slow.

Bayern Munich's performance in past matches against Manchester United is very good and probably Bayern Munich team won 4 out of last 5 matches. So Bayern Munich team is considered as favorite in the upcoming match as well.

There is an interesting statistics of Rashford I have seen on the social media recently. In the seasons Rashford has a girlfriend his contribution to Manchester United is just huge. Buth in the other cases it is the opposite.  Grin

Aside from that there is a really sharp decline in Rashford's performance this season. He was like a goal machine in the previous season. He played a big role in Manchester United's finishing the season in top 4 in the English Premier League. But now he is more like a ghost in the attacking area. Manchester United really need his consistent days back otherwise they had better look for other options.

Hojlund is actually doing great in the Champions League but still has 0 goal in the English Premier League. He is very young of course but he must be feeling the pressure there.
Rashford is one player that was actually doing well in previous seasons and he's had huge contributions and impacts to the United squad and he was practically fans favorite and a threat to teams too. But this season hasn't been quite good for him, his playing style changed and he's literally had the worst season. The fans are not encouraged by his performances and they've not been shy to express their disappointment and disgust at him. I don't know and can't tell the source of the problem but he's just got an extra work to do on himself, he's a striker but has not played as a striker.

Hojlund the second striker brought in to assist me has quite had a more favourable play in the UCL than in the EPL but he's also got to improve. The UCL games are shaky for them so he's also got to keep making wave and this time he has to find a way to improve his play and convery goals for himself and the team.
It just seems as though the entire team is in a black out situation right now and it isn't good. They'll be up against Chelsea tomorrow and I hope to see the outcome of their game and see all the players out in their best. Safe to say that the both teams are in thesame category so they'd both have same playing tempo, maybe even end up in a draw too.

This is exactly what will happen; Bayern Munich will either win or draw the game. If either of these two outcomes occurs in this match, Manchester United will be eliminated from the Champions League competition, and they will not even be eligible for a Europa League spot if they do not win all three points in the match.

But yes, at least if I consider the schedule with the opponents they will face after this match in the Champions League, the fact is that Bayern Munich will play against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile for Manchester United, they will play against Liverpool in the Premier League . So yes, with these factors it seems quite possible that Bayern Munich will rest several key players. Because yes, Bayern Munich is also still in tough competition in the Bundesliga at this moment, this is different about Manchester United, which at least no longer has a good chance of being in the top four in the Premier League. If this theory happens, then maybe Manchester United will have a chance to win, but once again, I still believe about the prestige that will certainly make Bayern Munich try not to be beaten by Manchester United this match.

This is why manchester united has been targeting maignan (acmilan). The management was not feeling good with onana's performance. He was making too many blunders since he was coming to the manchester united. I can't even count how many times he was making it.
Manchester united has so many loopholes. I meant if we must also be aware that how manchester united was buying some expensive players but they were totally useless. They have no club what they shall be doing in the club.
Ten hag is being so wasteful. Ten hag needs to find a solution for this. Manchester united needs to buy some players to fill the position on the goal keeper and defenders.

MU needs a better striker as well as hojlund was utterly scam transfer. He performs well in UCL but mU will out from UCL too. He has 0 goals from 10 matches in EPl. The worst striker.

if we just blame Onana it seems unfair and if we say about Man United bad things it seems like many have to be replaced, such as defenders, goalkeepers and strikers, some even say they also have to change their coach.
in this scenario I wonder if Man United is this bad that some people view this team as really bad and even criticize everything in Man United and I dont deny it because it is very natural for me when Ten Hag was still at MU nothing changed but we have to be patient and see after january whether player transfers can change Man United future? It seems not because Man United will clearly not qualify and only hope for the best place in the EPL.

Yes Manchester needs a striker, i think Ten hag rellies so much on Rasfhord having again a nother super season, but when he doesnt have that good season like we are seeing right now, you need a striker who brought you goals, and saves you.

Also they need to stop making so many mistakes on defense and the goalkeeper.... no words for him.
At first glance, what many people are talking about seems to be true, that many Manchester United players are selfish. Coupled with Ten Hag harsh style and upbringing, his relationship with each other was not very harmonious, in short, a gap emerged within the club which affected the final result of a match. Hojlund is an unfinished striker, he needs more flying time to increase his experience, and he needs more support to remain confident.

Therefore, it is not surprising that when United play under greater pressure, such as in the UCL, we find Hojlund scoring goals, whereas in the EPL he is barren. I think all the players understand the importance of a win in the UCL, and they are required to lower their egos, because of that we see more balls flowing to Hojlund feet to be converted into goals in UCL. something he didn't get in the EPL. I don't know if I was wrong in rationalizing it, or it could be the opposite, what is clear is that United are in a position that is difficult for everyone to understand.
