Dortmund was able to score a second goal and beat Newcastle, now they are top of the group (at least until Milan and PSG played their match). Apparently Howe was never able to find an approach to the Dortmund defense, no matter how they tried, they were never able to score a single goal against them.

And Shakhtar still beat Barcelona, a sensational defeat. I don’t know if this will allow Shakhtar to have any chance of leaving the group, Porto will most likely be able to beat Antwerp and also gain 9 points. Of course, Shakhtar will still retain a theoretical chance of reaching the playoffs, but even EL would not be a bad option for them.

I think there were some surprising results in the early games. Especially Barcelona's defeat was not expected by anyone. Despite playing a dominant game against Shakthar, Barcelona only managed to get 1 shot on target and lost 1-0 away and suffered their first defeat in the group. Shakthar will want to at least hold on to the group with this win and their thoughts that they might not make it out of the group might change after this game.

With the looks of things, it seems shakhtar donest are going to secure an expected win tonight although I will like to commend them for their brilliance and with what they have done in terms of their discipline and it's also because that Barcelona has not been their selves tonight maybe because they underestimate shakhtar that's why their game play hasn't been at the very best but that been said I think Barcelona won't even get the obvious draw tonight because its the 90+ mins already and shakhtar are still looking head strong to secure the three points.

Barcelona is appearing more of a defensive side on this second half of the game, as they fail to be able to create chances but rather having a more tough defense against Shakhtar Donetsk probably because they will still qualify anyways, so a loss in this match wouldn't cause much harm.

I think this will be a holiday match for Barcelona when they play against Shakhtar and indeed Shakhtar's lead with 1 goal could possibly last until the match is over if they keep their defense close. Barcelona really struggled and even though they had many opportunities, they failed to convert them into goals. Pedri also came on as a substitute in the 59th minute but it seems that after recovering from injury he still hasn't found his best performance. It is clear that this will be a loss for Barcelona if they lose and they fail to increase their points tally as the top of Group H. On the other hand, they will be more easily overtaken by Porto if today Porto can win decisively against Antwerp considering the goal difference is only 2.

I fear the way Dortmund is playing even to the extent that Newcastle defense was bridged by Dortmund, the way Dortmund is making paass, and coordinating their game and even the way they scored their first goal i was surprised it was a super goal, and Newcastle is still receiving pressure from Dortmund am still expecting more goals and one thing that surprises me is how Dortmund discards all Newcastles attempts to score, I see the strategy that Newcastle is trying to use they are shoot the ball from a far distance. It's a matter of experience and I believe borussia Dortmund is well experience team when it's comes to playing in the champions league and no matter how good a team is , when the experience is lacking, your opponent can use that as an advantage over you because the will always be one step ahead and I believe thats why Newcastle are finding it really difficult to overcome this Dortmund team.
