I can't even believe in PSG to be successful despite having Mbappe. As long as this team don't reassure us by some consistency I will doubt their qualifying from the group.
Unfortunately, I didn't watch this match. So, I just read based on statistics. It cannot be denied, it seems like the tactics implemented by Eddie Howe are going according to his plan. although previously, Newcastle experienced difficulties on their first matchday against AC Milan. However, when they played against PSG at their own headquarters, Eddie Howe's squad was able to win this match by a landslide. Either he has learned from the previous match, or it could be because the strategy implemented by Enrique failed miserably. That's why I can't judge this match objectively. because, I prefer to watch other matches presented in the Champions League.
If I refer to PSG's statistics and line-up, I conclude that Enrique was experimenting in this match. because, very rarely does he apply the 4-2-3-1 pattern. Usually Enrique uses a 4-3-3, or 3-4-3 system. I don't know why Enrique implemented that pattern system, but what is certain is that he failed miserably in this match. even though in fact, PSG controlled 73% of ball possession. However, their defense line was poor, which in the end was easily broken through by Eddie Howe's squad. In the future, I am quite sure that Enrique will not apply a pattern like that again.
Now Newcastle are in first place in the group phase, on matchday 3 they will host Dortmund. We cannot predict the results yet. while PSG will host Milan. In the next match, at least we will have a little idea which teams have almost no chance of qualifying for the Group F phase.
