I was not surprised as well because i knew the way Newcastle play it will be difficult for PSG to penetrate them because of the quality of players they have and the only threat i see is Mbappe and Dembele and i still knew they will have tough time getting through Newcastle’s defense. I love the way Newcastle approached the match, they showed no sign of fear and they didn’t play as if they are new to the champions league atmosphere. They gave their best and the fans helped encourage them since they played at home. It was an interesting match and the better side won. I hope they can keep up the performance to qualify to the knockout rounds.

Most of their players are average, they have a good attack but lack the defense and midfield to complement the attack that’s why it was difficult for them to penetrate Newcastle. Will they be able to face stronger teams in case they qualify to the knockout, can they win teams like Bayern, Madrid or Manchester City? I doubt that except if Mbappe performs his magic as usual.

The next game for Newcastle will be key. If they win their home game against Dortmund, I would say that they have amost made it through the group stage unless they lose all of their last 3 games. I know there is still some speculation involved because the group is so close, but the team that has a head start in this close group is probably one of the teams that comes out successful. They have the goal advantage against PSG or they would have to get slaughtered. They have a home game against AC Milan and did not concede a goal there. They are in a great position to master the hardest group of this Champions League season.

I agree because in last few weeks we have too much mess-up just because of these referees and use of technology is also not working in these cases which are more headache for the fans like we have in Premier League game Tottenham vs Liverpool and now this Porto vs Barcelona is again a big disappointment for the fans this match surely deserve as strangest match of this week with having no positive decisions for the home side against Barcelona which ends with a narrow second win of their second match in this season here in Champions League.

Even we have eight cards for the Barcelona but still all important decisions gone against Porto which is now having 3 points from two games but still have good chance for staying at the second spot because they are having good quality and good players which can turn the matches into better way for their club.

In my opinion, PSG failed to read the true strength of Newcastle United, they thought Newcastle's strikers were very strong, who deserved special attention like Mbappe et al, of course this was wrong, look at Newcastle's midfielders and defenders, they are the real strength. has been hidden all this time. Mbappes reluctancy could be traced to the fact that he is gradually becoming wary of the team and will at any opportunity leave to a better and promising team, he has recently had some issues around the team and the team has not really been at their best recently although they started their local league on a good note but are gradually experiencing a decline since the fourth to the seventh weak of the league game.

The loss they suffered against Newcastle was really humiliating and will be spoken about for a long time probably till the week ends and I'm sure it will have some effect on their moral meanwhile Manchester city had it easier wining as compared to Newcastle although the winning margin differed so well but I think Newcastle and Manchester city both had a deserving victory.

You are right. PSG lost by a big margin. And in this they may face problems. PSG lost the away match by 4-1. It is unlikely that PSG will win the home match by 3 goals. As I have seen Newcastle's gameplay, it is very difficult to beat this team by 3 goals. Because even when Newcastle play attacking, they never leave their defence vulnerable. The team has not been in good form in the Premier League at the start of this season. Even then, they conceded only 7 goals in 7 matches.
However, I think Newcastle and PSG are more likely to qualify for the knockout rounds. I had higher expectations from the Milan team. But their performance is a bit slow. They probably want to focus entirely on Serie A.

I think one of the reasons PSG lost was their match strategy nothing els.  Their youngster Luis Enriue wanted to control the match with possession of the ball.  They have placed more emphasis on ball possession than attacking more.  I would say this match strategy only applies to La Liga, why? You do not have to be a coach to understand that, it is very difficult to win in the Champions League or Premier League with such tactics.

It is true with what you said that PSG lost good high-quality players this season in contrast to Newcastle who are slowly improving their performances even though only with their players it could be said that none of the top players are that popular.
Previously I thought PSG would be the group leaders by winning every match but this was a bad match because losing 4 - 1 was a humiliating defeat.

I don't know what happened but in the last few matches Mbappe doesn't seem very enthusiastic about winning every match in fact he is usually the most dominant player now only doing his best to keep up with the movements of his teammates.
If they continue to experience conditions like this for longer time in this season maybe for League 1 and UCL they will not get anything and there is no hope that they can have anymore.

Yes it true I also not sure PSG will be able to win the UCL if they still don't make any progress.
At the start of the UCL group phase match I thought PSG could be better but in reality it was all just a dream that was difficult to come true.

I never thought that PSG was a scary club, they don't have players who are good enough to play in the UCL therefore I never thought they could qualify for the final or semi-finals of the UCL, the clubs that are more respected in the UCL at the moment are Munich, City and Madrid, of course, these three clubs are more favored than PSG, Mbappe will never be successful if he stays at PSG.

Newcastle had almost two decades without playing in such a prestigious competition like the Champions League is,of course they were much more motivated than PSG which has a lot of problems itself,in front of their home crowd Newcastle simply delivered yesterday night and what a delivery I would say,total destruction of a team like PSG.

Interesting how everyone here is discussing the PSG game last night... But to be honest, I'm not surprised that Newcastle were able to destroy them... PSG have a lot of problems now, while Newcastle are playing their first season in the Champions League and have already managed to make a good result...
