The champions league matches today just went against how bookies and some football analysts predicted the outcome, just imagine Atletico Madrid lost 4:0 to Benfica, Real Madrid lost 1:0 to Lille, Bayern Munich lost to Aston Villa and Monaco almost lost to Dinamo Zagreb if not for the late penalty they got and levelled the score 2:2. So for the champions league games today, the only big teams that managed to win their matches are: Atalanta, Liverpool and Juventus.

The match that marveled me most today was Aston Villa against Bayern munich because Aston Villa was able to repeat same score they got against Bayern munich in 1981/1982 finals when the champions league was formerly called the European cup. Bravo to Unai Emery as his boys have now gotten 2 straight wins from their first 2 matches in the champions league group stages.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid defeats were major surprises, I think Atletico Madrid 4-0 defeat to Benfica was no less surprising. Juventus managed to make a comeback after being behind, as did AS Monaco who managed to avoid defeat after getting a penalty at the end of the match. Liverpool and Club Brugge were the teams that managed to win comfortably today, I agree that this new format is quite difficult to predict. Dortmund, Brest, Benfica, Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Juventus are the 7 teams that managed to win two consecutive matches. It seems that the next match will be even more difficult to predict.

It was also hard to predict that Atletico would concede 4 goals (and score zero), right? Against any opponent, and especially against Benfica. Yesterday I made a multi-bet on Arsenal and Bayer to lose... it's a pity that I didn't think of making an even more daring bet today on Bayern and Real to lose, the total odds were probably close to 80 Grin

It hurt a bit especially since my choice of a crazy bet on Benfica ended up with a win in the multi used which made me feel a bit tight.

But these things happen and Madrid did everything they could in this match, they just weren't lucky enough as Ancelotti was a bit late with some of his players which resulted in points being lost.

The next match will make them have to work a little harder because with this defeat indirectly if they really want to get a decent position in the league phase then the matches against Dortmund, Liverpool and Atalanta must go well and they must not miss again in other matches in the Champions League.

I don't know what to say about tonight's game because it was not what I expected. Bayern lost to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Although Bayern Munich has been overrated, I don't expect them to win the game. My anger is on Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid. How difficult it was for them to score in the game. Lille had made it tough for Madrid today. Sincerely speaking this Champions League format will not favor some clubs 😂.

The game today was more tactically approached as Unai Emery showcased his brilliance over Vincent Kompany. Up next would be the game against Manchester United for Unai Emery. I was carried away while watching the game. It was a fantastic match to watch. The actions were thrilling and I was impressed with the goal scored by J Durran. Just a three-way tough and it's in the net. From Martinez to the defender and then to Jurran, without any delay, he quickly and accurately smashed the ball into the net. This is a true definition of Black Shine Brightest. What a brilliant finish!

I just pity some sports bettors. Things went wrong this night and could be the effect of the new champions league format. Take a look at the results below;

Lille 1 : 0 Real Madrid : Even over 1.5 goals didn't play. The least Madrid to score didn't happen.
Aston villa 1:0 Bayern Munich: Even over 1.5 goals didn't play. The least Bayern to score didn't happen.
The worst is ATM swallow 4 goals from Benfica.

It seems that some big names are going to struggle from 9th position and determine who will join the top 8.

In the end my words came true even though in the end there was a significant change in the quality of Madrid's attack with the inclusion of some of their star players but when LOSC had made a stronghold in the defensive scheme it was a little difficult and the final result Madrid had to admit that LOSC got 3 points and they had to lose their away match in week two.

It's a bit unfortunate when in fact this is one way to smooth their plans to qualify directly from the league phase especially when the opponent is below them in terms of level but Madrid's performance is not very good especially for the first half.

Ancelotti tried more schemes in this match even though if they were forced with 3 strikers as usual from the start or adapted 4-3-1-2 like last season where Jude was placed under the striker then maybe the results could have been different but they still tried 4-4-2 just like they did in the previous week in La Liga.

But sitting at the front of my television and viewing the match, I am rather seeing the opposite of my expectation. In fact Aston Villa even managed to score first before Bayern Munich if not that the gold was overruled by VAR. The match is heated up and very very intensive. I am just happy that Aston Villa could give such a fight. It's about 40 minutes into the first half and still goal less. Even if Bayern Munich might later win the match I am very confident that the score line will not be what we used to see in German Bundesliga. Aston villa is just equal to the task.

By now you should have known that Aston Villa should not be joked with. I have watched their games and I have seen what they are capable of doing. I dont expect Bayer to think they are playing weak teams. If care is not taken in this match, we may end up seeing Aston Villa to be victorious. The game is getting harder and harder for them as Aston Villa is focusing on scoring and not defending.

I know Aston Villa has a good coach. But considering that it has been long they play on this platform and secondly, they don't have rich squad depth. I didn't expect them to be a much of problem to Bayern Munich.
