There is no doubt that Leverkusen and Inter Milan are the teams that will provide competition in the UCL this season after achieving success last season in the domestic league. They will make a surprise this time if they are able to maintain their performance, although other clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City have also managed to add new ammunition in the transfer market, but they cannot be underestimated.

Arsenal always fails in the Champions League, so far Arteta's team has always failed to compete with other top clubs. While Barcelona is unpredictable, after changing coaches and the arrival of Dani Olmo, the line-up of players owned by Barcelona is almost even. Although Arsenal and Barcelona are not among the favorites to win the UCL trophy, the presence of these two teams must be watched out for because they might make a big surprise this season.

It would be wrong to say that Real Madrid has been working on the Champions League since last year only because they have won 15 trophies in the Champions League so far. If one season is counted for each trophy then total 15 means we have to admit that they have performed well for at least 15 seasons. The more you say about this team for the Champions League, the less will be said. Their team lacked a main striker for several seasons but midfielders or other positional players did not let that lack and they brought this team the Champions League trophy. 

Real Madrid is fondly called Royal Madrid by the fans because they are the kings since the beginning. Last season they won the Champions League trophy even with a relatively weak team so next season it will be easier for them to win the Champions League trophy and La Liga tournament as they have strengthened their team this season

I think what you said is enough to give a good direction to understand that this season every team has to be able to be smart, tough and can handle every pressure that comes because of the congested schedule to compete. And I think that will certainly have an impact on the big teams who used to dominate the Champions League, because they also have to change some of their old strategies to new ones with the new format in the Champions League so that they don’t get beaten by smaller teams who are less experienced in the Champions League.

I don't really know the reason why we keep including Manchester City as the big guys in the Champions League because going by their Champions League history, they don't even deserve any praises because they have just won it once. If we should be talking about teams that have good Champions League records then we should be talking about those teams that have won it more than once and not always putting Manchester City it the picture.

I know that Manchester City have been in a very good form and performance both in their domestic leagues and in the Champions League but yet they haven't achieved many Champions League trophies as Real Madrid did so until they are able to win many champions league trophies then we can see them as one of the major contenders of the champions league but for now, regardless of how formidable the team is they are no different from the other teams that have won the Champions League once and above so they shouldn't be hyped so much.

For now Real Madrid have no competitors in the champions league because before any team can be considered as a major competitor with Madrid then let them match up to Real Madrid's champions league record or even break their record which might not be possible in the next 10 years because the only team after Real Madrid in the Champions League is AC Milan as they've won the Champions League on record 7 times and they have not been in their best performance to be considered to win the champions league yet, even in 10 years they can't match Real Madrid's Record talk more of Manchester City that just have one champions league trophy to their name.

I agree about only Leverkusen and Inter. Especially if Leverkusen maintain their performance this season also, they are a surprise candidate for the trophy I think.    For Inter, I can say they were wonderful in the Serie A last season. A smooth performance. You would remember they were a finalist in the Champions League 2 seasons ago too. They can also be unpredictable.

But for Arsenal and Barcelona, I don't think so. Arsenal are stumbling here because of focusing mainly on winning a PL title. We saw it last season. When it comes to Barcelona, I think they have less chance considering their situation lately.  

Real Madrid and Manchester City are everybody's favorites, huh?
Why are given them this hype above any other team?
Don't we think that they can end up not even becoming finalist in the Champions League next season?

I know that they both have good squad with experience, but I stand with Arsenal, Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan among my favorites to win the Champions League next season. I will be expecting some of these teams I mentioned to do better than Manchester City and Madrid in the coming Champions League next season; I never counted Madrid and Manchester City out of the favorites, but I will be happy if any of these teams win the champions League next season.

It is now as if we are taking turns on winning the champions, that is for Manchester City and Real Madrid my two favorite clubs so it is either one of them win so am not usually pained when Real Madrid wins the champions league and they have taking it multiple times more than even Manchester City. Because last two previous seasons Manchester City disqualified Madrid and last season Madrid did the same thing to Manchester city so it is just as if they are now rivals. Champions league usually commands a lot of attention. And as far it comes to the champions league they will definitely come first truly before any other club is mentioned because they know that no matter how it is the title will still be between them. For now they are the only two clubs that stand a very good chance to actually win the trophy I don't any other person challenge their win for the champions league. I can not stop loving Manchester City.

Sparta praha only drew against FCSB and actually this was never expected before. Even though Sparta praha was so favored with quite small odds in the first leg, they had enough difficulty facing a dark horse team like FCSB at home and had to target a win in the second leg if they didn't want to be eliminated from the qualifying round.

In addition, Salzburg managed to secure a win at home after beating Twente with a score of 2-1 and I think it's only natural that they can get that result without difficulty. Salzburg dominated with 68% possession of the ball and while the away team could only maintain 32%. Kjaergaard's brace led Salzburg to lock the aggregate difference in the first leg and Twente managed to get a consolation goal in the final minutes through Vlap's goal. However, I think this match will still be exciting considering the narrow goal difference and in the second leg Twente will be very favored as the host.

There are no guarantees for all competitions, where there's competition there will definitely be opportunities for strong teams or underdog teams. But Real Madrid is different, they will always win in the final, can you remind me again when Real Madrid failed to win in the final of a serious match?

In addition, they have a new player (Kylian Mbappe) who wants to win a title with Real Madrid, I think the UEFA Super Cup will be his first trophy with Real Madrid.


Oh I see, I get your point now, there's no static in competition, there will always be dynamics, you gave the example of Barcelona & Manchester United who dominated the UCL previously, but are now dominated by Real Madrid. But look at what Real Madrid is doing now, do you believe there will be a change in dominance over the next 10 years or even 25 years?

The new feature in the champions league makes it more intriguing to watch. We always wanted a comptition where no team feels inferior over the other and have that fear of now making it far, I think this new method has been able to curb that and we won’t see much of that in the next season’s champions league. I have great concern for the smaller teams still, they always not have that zeal or consistency or the energy to hold on to pressure for that long and this new method requires all that. All teams that will be participating in the champions league should have a rethink of that and work on towards achieving what they need most in this competition and not lag behind when the top teams are trying to make themselves available for the next round of the competition.

Real Madrid and Manchester City dominate the Champions League. The teams to beat are consistent and dominant. This new, crammed schedule changes everything. Even top teams fail. Smaller clubs adapt and learn. They won't passively accept. The giants' armor cracks will be exploited. We may see upsets, surprising runs, and a new champion from the chaos

No longer is it about who's the best, but who's brightest, most resilient, and can handle the pressure. Champions League will become more exciting

I think skipping this game should be the best decision. It's really hard to bet in Real Madrid before start of the season ( they also had a lot of players for Euro and Copa America ) as some players are still a bit tired and as far as I know Ancelotti is currently implementing a new formula for Real Madrid which might take while until it goes in full power and that takes time for players to develop this new style. On the other side , we have a full rested Atalanta squad who should be in better shape than Real and maybe with a bit of luck they can win Euro super cup on 14th August. 

I also really liked how Bayern played, they were definitely not worse than Real, and in some moments even better, and Real was able to win with the help of the referees, so you shouldn't reduce the entire confrontation in the Champions League to just these two teams. I would also add Barcelona and PSG to them, maybe they are not obvious contenders, but I think that they can also go quite far. But these are preliminary assumptions, it is too early to draw any conclusions, because the group stage has not even begun.

Yeah. Mbappe's presence in Real Madrid will make the squad stronger. The Champions League will be tough next season, no doubt, because Manchester City will want to do everything possible to see that they bring Real Madrid down, and it will be a difficult thing for them. Before, we always thought there was no team that could be a challenge for Manchester City, but right now Real Madrid seems stronger than them in the Champions League, so let's wait and witness all the predictions made about these two clubs.


This is football and anything can happen, but Atlanta is not that strong to defeat Real Madrid; they defeat Bayern Leverkusen. We all know that, but Bayern Leverkusen are no strong like Real Madrid, so definitely I'm expecting Real Madrid to win Atlanta; they are far better than Atlanta. Currently, the presence of Mbappe makes them look more strong. I'm expecting Real Madrid to be an unbeatable team this coming season the same way Bayern Leverkusen did in the Bundesliga.

I don’t think Real Madrid will be out of the picture any time soon, even though we know that things can happen. But I don’t think it will be very soon because the strength that Real Madrid are maintaining now will be very hard to easily overcome by any team, or even think of them losing the trophy. I can say that the upcoming trophy will still belong to them. I know many will think that it will hardly happen, but their performance has already identified that so many things are expected to happen. 
 
But I know in any success there will be a challenge, and seeing Real Madrid will be able to overcome all the challenges that they will have from other teams, but that will not stop them from achieving their main goals, and we still have to believe they will overcome everything. 

In the champions league, the competition use to provide a lot of entertaining and exciting matches. No team that gets there will want to perform less and they are always in their best form using their best players in the team in order to stand at a competitive advantage with others in the competition. Manchester City and Real Madrid may still be the bets for the Champions League title, but they shouldn’t be surprised if some other teams give them tough time to qualify or even eliminate them from the competition. The competition is highly competitive and you can’t get to tell what the performance of your opponent can be best, so you’ve to be super ready and prepare to face the worse in the competition.


Every team have their own time and when it’s your time you should try and make good use of it because it’s not going to last forever. I remember the era of Zenidine Zidane when Real Madrid were beats and the best in the champions league. Those records are those that cannot be forgotten so easily. They are good use of that period and many of the players were able to win more trophies and add to their records in their football career. Agreed that Real Madrid won’t be the king of the champions league forever but a team has to be well prepared and super capable in order to defeat Real Madrid in the champions league.

I don't think anyone will take the preseason match as a reference. A top team like Real Madrid will not possibly field their best squad in a preseason match. The reason is they don't have any motivation to win the match. Real Madrid has an important match against Atalanta and there we will see Madrid who will play with their first squad. Yes I also favor Real Madrid to win that match.

Real Madrid will not always dominate and I agree with you. But for now if you look at the Real Madrid squad for the 2024/2025 season I think no one doubts their strength to win the UCL this season. I think among the best teams last season Real Madrid has the best squad this season. Mbappe will have a significant impact on Real Madrid's performance. Trust me.

He may think that Real Madrid will not always be at the top, I agree with that thought, about a triumph there will definitely be a collapse in the future although we do not know how long it will happen, but for now I agree with you that Real Madrid will definitely become champions again, especially the situation and the condition of the team is getting better to challenge various champions league teams, even getting a treble winner can be a possible speculation for Real Madrid to achieve this season, it could make new history or repeat it.

In this case, you just need to bet on Real. At the moment, bookmakers are giving odds of 1.48 for them to win in regular time. Quite generous (if you believe in the 99% probability that Real will win). In fact, I also think that Real will win, but I am not so sure because despite the fact that this is a game for the title, no one will specially prepare the team for it (peak form) because there is a whole season ahead, which is more valuable.

Real Madrid has always been the King of UCL whenever it is even though there will be another club that beat Real Madrid but still the whole world knows who the holders of the Champions League are the most champions and without us observing more in everyone knows how Real Madrid continues to maintain their performance every season by recruiting players by recruiting players Which is always right to fill the empty place that has been left behind by players who have left.
As now Real Madrid has never failed to recruit the right players like Mbappe and some young players and that is one of Real Madrid's ways to maintain its performance to remain a strong club in La Liga and UCL.
I do not understand sometimes certain people judge if Real Madrid can be defeated in the period of bringing in terms of getting the most degree while financially this club always has stable finances and can always get the players they want.
