I actually want to see Leverkusen from well in the Champions League competition. For some reason, I also want to see a final between Real Madrid and Leverkusen. I think because I want to see how great coaches, Alonso and Ancelotti does against each other. I understand that this is not a good comparison and probably there is a very high chance that Real Madrid is actually going to win very easily. Because of the track record that they have in the Champions League. But it will still be something to watch. The expectation is really high from Leverkusen. I hope they will be able to deliver properly on that.
Guaranteed 1/8 finals and then how lucky they will be with the draw. With the new format, I don't think Bayer will have problems finishing in the top half of the group. If the competition were held in the old format, then reaching the 1/8 would also be guaranteed since Bayer, as the German champion, would be in the first pot and the likelihood that a group would turn out like Group F this season is very small.
Many predict that Bayer Leverkusen will be the center of attention in the next Champions League and want to see how Xabi Alonso competes with many outstanding coaches who have experience in the Champions League, but we cannot guarantee to what extent Leverkusen can survive in the Champions League despite the previous unbeaten achievements, it is possible but it may not be what we imagine or go the other way and cannot survive even in the group qualification.
But it is interesting how far Xabi Alonso will take Bayer Leverkusen, whether it will reach the final like Dortmund or not.
I don't doubt the fact that Bayern Leverkusen can make things happen in the champions league next season after all their display last season was so outstanding but yet we can't be sure if they can still continue in that same spirit next season. Xabi Alonso is a good coach and we can't Underrate his coaching skills so he can still take every one by surprise next season just same way he did last season.
