Real once again showed how huge they mentally are. City was better in 90% of the tie but if you don't kill the game off, they will make you pay for it.

City had everything under control with 5 minutes to go - but against Real you cannot give an inch of space. I cannot say that it is an undeserved win for Real - in both games they showed incredible effectiveness in their game.

It will be tough in the final but as a Liverpool fan, I'm glad it is Real and not City.
Manchester city which had 99% locked the win until the 89th minute had to have a nightmare due to the incredible comeback from madrid in the 90+1 minute, playing under pressure from the start of the match did not make the real madrid players down and even they often did penetration towards the manchester city goal, the disaster occurred in less than 5 minutes making manchester city have to continue the match until extra time and this clearly shows how strong madrid mentality is in the champions league, I think towards the last minute the manchester city troops were too careless so they failed in guarding Benzema when Madrid first goal was created.
The difference between the two teams yesterday night was basically experience and success DNA in the Real Madrid team. Real Madrid is a proper club with the right players fit for each role. To play at this level you have to do it properly or keep gambling by spending millions on full backs and crying that your team is having bad luck. I'm shocked that Manchester City can't win the champion's league with Guardiola.

@bering I think this results not because mentality, but experience of Ancelotti have in the UCL. We all know, he is a great coach with several UCL trophy since he coached AC Milan. Of course, Guardiola also have experience UCL trophy, but strategy and coaching experience if compared with Ancelotti is far away.
Well, Final will be good, Liverpool vs Madrid, is Ancelottu experience will help another UCL trophy for Madrid, or Klopp bring the title for The Reds, interesting.
Experience in coaching is important, but a winning mentality is much more important in my opinion. Before coaching Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti was not able to build Everton as a club that can compete with top clubs, even though Carlo Ancelotti's experience in coaching football clubs is extraordinary. If I'm not mistaken, when he coached Real Madrid, some important players in Real Madrid such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos were left behind, but Carlo Ancelotti managed to bring Karim Benzema and his friends to win La Liga and enter the UCL Final. From that I judge that in European competition, mentality is very important.
I totally agree with you that the final between Liverpool vs Real Madrid is a pretty good ideal final.

I have doubted Real Madrid the whole tournament and I have been proved wrong again and again. so now I am going to say that Real Madrid will be the winners of the finals in the Champions League because they have just some ways to win and I have to say they played really attacking football at the end and they were rewarded for taking the risk.

M.City could not make good use of the gaps Real Madrid gave during the match in defense. City started attacking more after scoring the goal but could not score. Real Madrid showed the spirit of winning in the last minutes of the match and did not fall out of the match. Benzema led his team and prevented him from being relegated from the game. I think the penalty given in overtime is a controversial decision. Capturing important positions in overtime City was the team that said goodbye to the final when they could not turn these positions into goals.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
I was completely satisfied with the Real Madrid v Manchester City match. The last moments of the first ninety minutes were definitely insane! I was just waiting for the match to end by Manchester City's 1-0 victory but suddenly the way the match was going changed very sharply. I wonder whether they would do the same again if Rodrygo didn't enter the match. But we will never be able to figure that out.  Grin  And Benzema is such an amazing player that he was very helpful for advancing to final as well. He got one goal and one assist.
Real Madrid vs Manchester City both first leg and second leg was very amazing. No dull moment for the fans and the viewers.
Even upto 80 minutes of the game, I was hopeful that Real Madrid will make a come back. I was shouting from my TV as if Loti heard me and removed the two old men from the midfield. The game was already ending and they needed to risk it to remove midfield and introduce a younger attacker and as I was shouting, he did it immediately and I respected the coach. Instantly, everything changed and that was football for you.
Manchester City would have made more efforts but they were tired. Sterling would have come earlier like Grealish did.

Pep guardiola should leave man city after this season. He has done everything but I don't think it's meant to be. I mean how do you explain this. Just minutes to enter final they concede 2 quick goals to real madrid. It is more like Madrid has some secrete they are not sharing about die minutes, this is how the game change against Chelsea when they have 10 minutes left. The match does not end until the final whistle with Real Madrid. The resilience of the team and the comeback spirit has always been there.
It's time we admitted that Pep Guardiola is just more likable or else other coaches in his shoes would have been sacked.  Fans are quick to not acknowledge that Guardiola have had so many chances to win the UEFA Champion's league to consistently pin his failure on bad luck. Pep is good manager but certainly not good enough to win champions league title without amazing players like prime Messi, Iniesta and Xavi.

Ancelotti is a very good, experienced and successful coach. His long career shows that with many titles from national to European ones. He is the first coach who win league title from all top five national leagues in the Europe, from Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 to La Liga. He has won Champions League with AC Milan and Real Madrid.

In the match, he made some substitutions that bring Real Madrid to the final win. From Camavinga to Rodrygo, he did excellent substitution and good adjustment in Real Madrid tactics. I don't say Pep made bad substitutions because with Gundogan and Grealish, Manchester City had some opportunities to close the match. They were lack of a bit accuracy and a bit of luck or just because of Courtois' good saves.

Football has a very thin difference between win and lose. Yesterday match is a crazy one like that.

Manchester City just started wasting time a lot and in the end that came back to haunt them. because at almost 80 minutes Manchester City had control of the match and they thought the job was done but Real Madrid made a comeback that is really good, and that's how they did win almost all the previous matches in Champions League. At the end of the match, the body language of Real Madrid was great and it was the opposite for the players of Manchester City.
Last night's game was a shocking event to most football fans all over the world and more surprising to Manchester City fans who were already in their celebration mood in the 80+ before the unimaginable happened with Real Madrid coming from behind to win the match thereby qualifying for the finals. Manchester City players we already relaxed thinking there have won the match but this is football anything can happen within seconds.

It was definitely an unforgettable night. Actually the match wasn't going on very interestingly for a long time. And after Manchester City got 1-0 ahead, I didn't think that Real Madrid would do anything at that point. Because their performance wasn't even too good until then. But they literally performed a miracle in the last minutes which proves again that football is a very interesting sport. Thanks to Rodrygo's goals, they maintained their chance and Benzema scored the winning goal for them to advance to the finale. It was such an incredible match.

This match was won tactically and Pep failed the test. Made some unnecessary substitutions and his team became toothless. His decision was poor and that was what affected the team yesterday. They had a 5-3 aggregate and as usual they leak in goals. Those players will never recover from this, will haunt them for life. Manchester city should have buried that game in 90 mins. PSG should have buried that game in that first half. Chelsea should have buried that game. European football at its best. Sometimes it doesn't matter who was the better team, what matters is how you get the maximum out of a moment and Real Madrid are elite at that.

The problem with football at the very top level, is that success or failure all comes down to a few key games, the rest of the season is essentially meaningless.
Look at a mid-table team, almost every game is a challenge, success can be finishing 8th in the league, reaching one cup semi-final, etc.
But look at a team like Man City... they are expected to win most league games and most cup games. The CL group stages are just money-generating activity, there's never much doubt that they will qualify and make it through to the later stages. Same in the league and other domestic matches, most matches are untroubled, routine victories. Only a few games in each season matter, and these are games against your real rivals, the only other super-teams about. Success for Man City is winning the CL, anything else is failure. For them, it's all fine margins - one slip-up at the wrong moment, and your season can completely unravel.

The mistake guardiola made was to put zinchenko in this match, the lad has never been good defensively. The two crosses that lead to the goals came from his wing. Carvajal crosses was limited with cancelo when he was on that wing. Guardiola could have brought a physical defensive player for walker to see out the match even if its a CB. He should have sub Silva and play fenardinho, Let mahrez remain in the game to keep pushing attack and at same time play a defensive MIDFIELDER. I believe that Guardiola errors lead to this loss, the players didn't bottled the chance

Unexpectedly, Villarreal actually played very well in the first half. Villarreal were able to score two goals in the first half and had forced the aggregate to be 2-2. Unfortunately, in the second half they reduced the intensity of the game and allowed Liverpool to score three goals back to seal the victory that saw Liverpool qualify for the Champions League final.
Liverpool's quality was very evident in the second half, in the second half they were able to get up even though in the first half they had to concede 2 goals. Liverpool's winning mentality. They deserved to win the second leg and they deserved to be in the final too, because at the moment they are one of the best teams in Europe.
It is undeniable that Liverpool is one of the best teams in Europe. Liverpool showed its quality with a team that has a high level of maturity. Their winning mentality was phenomenal, this was shown in the second half which was able to catch up with 2 goals to reverse the score to 2-3 for Liverpool's victory. Even in this season Liverpool have the opportunity to win a quadruple. If Liverpool are able to achieve a quadruple, then they will be the only team to do so and will be remembered throughout history.

To be honest, I think Villareal played really well in the first half but they had some certain mistakes in the defensive lines and also the mistakes by the goalkeeper helped Liverpool a lot. Liverpool also did very well but they are surely going to appreciate the help from the goalkeeper of the opponent.
Now Liverpool is going to face Real Madrid in the finals of the Champions League and I have no idea who will be the winners of that match.

Real Madrid probably owes this to itself that it has still won. I'm curious what the odds were at a 0-1 score in the 90th minute to bet that Real Madrid would still win the match. It was actually unthinkable that 2 more goals would fall after that 0-1. In extra time there was only one team that did it smartly and that was Madrid. Lots of theater and time wasting, but that's part of it. The interests are too great.

In this match we can see the winning mentality that Madrid has but Man City doesn't have it and regarding Guardiola future i don't think he will leave Man City after this season ended because there was no rumour about that and actually Man City track records under Guardiola were not really bad even they can get 3 premier league trophy but indeed he want to get champion league trophy because so far only the champions league trophy he hasn't gotten yet with Man City and he is very disappointed with this result but he said Man City will rise and forget this defeat

I wonder what happened to City in the end of the game, they had everything under control and even scored first, they just had to manage the game and be calm. Most probably it was lack of experience and being hit psychologically by the goal conceded in the 90 minute that made them lose it all soon after that.

I think they thought the job was done, there was no way that Real could score two goals in the small amount of time that was left. So their concentration lapsed a bit, and Real came through and scored. That was the first mistake, then the second mistake was letting this rattle them. Even after conceding that goal, they were still going through, they just needed to control the match for a few more minutes, like they had just controlled it for the past 90 minutes... but they didn't regroup, and so Real scored again.

Once it reached extra-time, there was only going to be one winner really, there's no way a team comes back from a psychological blow like that. By extra time, Man City were reeling and on the ropes, just waiting for the final knockout punch.
