Well both teams were using makeshift defensive players so am not surprised the score was that ways. Most of the goals were as a result of avoidable defensive errors. I don't know If I am just delusional, but I think Manchester City just gave Real Madrid a chance to go through onto the Final.

We will see what happens 8 days from now.
Yeah, the same mistake Chelsea and PSG made, both teams gave Real Madrid a ticket to the next round. Real Madrid were not the better team in each of those games, but individual defensive errors were the reason they are in the semifinals. Manchester City made the same mistake yesterday, with Benzima's second goal and the Pk both coming from defensive errors. I wouldn't be surprised if Manchester City squandered their chances in the second leg.

Villarreal has already shown in this edition of the Champions League, eliminating Juventus Turin and Bayern Munich, that they can be dangerous for any opponent. Unai Emery is great at setting his team to take advantage of the opponent's weaknesses. However, it's hard to point to such weaknesses in Liverpool's game. In my opinion, they are the best team in the world at the moment and I believe that they will prove it today by beating the Spanish team.

Liverpool is undoubtedly the favorite in this match. Compared to Villarreal, the Liverpool team is strong and consistent. But Villarreal has done well this season. Villarreal's win against Munich was a complete surprise. Villarreal's defense is very strong. So if Villarreal can somehow score the first goal of the match today, it will be very difficult for Liverpool to win this match. So Liverpool should keep the defense strong today.

I think the 4 teams that made it to the semifinals are strong teams, because it's not easy to reach the semifinals in the Champions League competition.
All teams that are in the semifinals must beat some strong teams first, like Villarreal who surprisingly could advance to the semifinals. Since Villarreal
have also managed to compete with Atalanta since the group stage, then surprisingly Villarreal also knocked out Juventus, and even more surprising
results when Villarreal managed to get rid of Bayern.

From Villarreal's journey, at least Liverpool must be careful when facing Villarreal. It is true that if Liverpool's performance is compared to Villarreal,
however, Liverpool is much better than Villarreal. But seeing the surprise created by Villarreal there is still the possibility Liverpool can be beaten.
Therefore Liverpool cannot underestimate Villarreal, especially in this first leg the match will be played at Liverpool's home. So Liverpool must not
fail to win, I predict Liverpool will win in the first leg.

Man City did win against Real Madrid, but with only 1 goal difference, I don't think it can be considered a guarantee that Man City will qualify for the Finals. Real Madrid is a strong team, and they have a good record in the Champions League. Moreover, in the Second Leg, the match will be held at Santiago Bernabeu and for sure it will be an advantage for Real Madrid. I think it's still difficult to predict which team will qualify for the Final because they both still have the same chance.
As I predicted earlier, Manchester City will win the match by a narrow score, the 7-goal drama during the match is very entertaining for anyone watching. Karim Benzema second goal through the penalty spot in the 82nd minute gave Real Madrid a little hope, but Real Madrid efforts to equalize were deadlocked. Manchester City came out victorious as well as gave hope in the second leg to continue their journey to the final.
Real madrid, who had fallen behind by two quick goals in the first half, was able to provide an extraordinary resistance against manchester city, I think if other teams were in the position of real madrid yesterday of course they would be down to see the ferocity of manchester city from the start of the match, but real madrid who having a winning mentality managed to rise and even reduce the score to 4-3 at the end of the match, even though now Manchester City managed to win but a margin of 1 goal of course does not make their position safe, especially in the second leg Madrid will play at the Bernabeu and this season we have look at how great madrid is at home and maybe even they will make an extraordinary comeback like against PSG in the quarter-finals some time ago.

Even though they are not favourites, Villareal will do their best to get a satisfactory result. Yes, I myself make Liverpool the favourite, but I want to see Villareal put up a fight that makes Liverpool difficult not only in the first leg but in the second leg later. Even if they lose, I hope that the defeat will not be decisive, so that the second leg can still be an interesting match.

I predicted Manchester City would win this game, but I didn't expect it to be so difficult for them. When Kevin de Bruyne and Jesus scored two quick goals and Foden scored a third early in the second half, I had no doubt that Manchester City would play in the final. But now I think all is not lost for Real Madrid.
Hm don't be too sure mate Cheesy
Have you forgotten what happened to a team that Madrid played against before? I think you are taking this too lightly because even though City are ahead in this first leg, it is only 1 goal in aggregate and I hope you don't underestimate Madrid just because of this 1 goal aggregate.
I personally am still quite confident in the strength of Madrid and City must be prepared for that in the second leg later

Regardless of the amount you hate City, their football is entertaining. We've witnessed a heady-weight match last night, so errors could be made. Well, the pressure is the game was excessively. Obviously Man City coach Pep was not happy as they have missed lots of chances, but they've advantage anyway. Yet, It would be hard Pep's military to get decisive victory in Spain following the second leg.
That's what Pep is worried about because winning by 1 aggregate goal can certainly be pursued by Madrid in the second leg. with so many chances Man City of course Pep will deny it all.
but seeing the performance of both teams was very entertaining, even though I lost the bet that I placed in a draw. but I was entertained by the performances of Man City and Madrid. and the second leg will be very exciting.

Manchester City won by just 1 goal. So I would say that the chances of qualifying for the semi-finals are still the same for both the teams. If Manchester City wants to qualify for the final, they will have to play in the second leg to win. If they made a match strategy for the goal of drawing the match, they will fail to qualify for the finals. I think so. Because Real Madrid is very strong in Bernabeu. Moreover, we have not forgotten the performance of Real Madrid's home match against PSG.

Liverpool taking on Villarreal to at 20:00/this going to be an exciting time for Liverpool fans as they have high hope that their club is going to win against Villarreal since they playing against a smaller club.
Liverpool FC = @1.31
Villarreal CF = @9.80

I think people are starting to underestimate Villarreal again because they have shown that they deserve to be where they are and this is not just because they got lucky.
I think the match is going to be a lot closer than the prediction is saying. I obviously still think that Liverpool is going to win the match but I just don't think that this is going to be that one-sided.
9.80 odds are just nothing but insane, it would be a risky bet I think.

Yeah, relying on odds is sometimes risky. Because I am quite sure that Liverpool is certainly not going to underestimate their opponent because anyone who is at this level of the competition is there because they deserve to be, and underestimating any opponent at this level is certainly not a wise thing to do.

Liverpool is surely still going to be the favorites and they will also believe they can win the match but they are certainly going to take things a lot more seriously than the people are thinking.

Foden is such a great talent for Manchester City at 21 he's not doing badly. De Bruyne should have been my man of the match but this was shift to Bernardo Silva.
Good response from Real during the second half of the game.

I give all the credits to Manchester city, they were outstanding in the game, although they only made few fallible mistakes in their defense and their Frontlines failed to convert their goal-scoring chances. The match was dominated by City in the first 10 minutes of the game which they really made good use of the ball by netting in 2minutes when Riyah Mahrez made an excellent cross in their opponents box which Kelvin Debruyne made a flying header to open the goal scoring for city. The Brazilian record holder, Gabriel Jesus took advantage of Alaba blunder and make it 2-0 for city. Real Madrid bounced back when Karim Benzema took good advantages of Mendy's cross from side and net the ball. Second half, was in favour of Pep side. The game ended 4-3 in the etihad Stadium. Let's wait for the returning leg when City will travel to Santiago Bernebeu. advantage of Alaba blunder and convert it to goal. Perhaps city was unlucky in the game, they failed to thrashed their visitors comfortably.

as a liverpool fan i will be very happy if liverpool wins this game, but i keep asking myself again why are the houses and bets underestimating the champions league opponents?

yesterday we saw clearly that City and real madrid were with a 50% - 50% chance of winning the game, both teams had the same strength. but the houses and pre-match bets were placing odds of @6.00 for real madrid

Today we have the same scenario:

Liverpool FC = @1.31

Villarreal CF = @9.80

maybe even today it will be worse because they are putting @9.80 for villareal, this is a big exaggeration because Villareal is not as weak as they are putting it

I think people are starting to underestimate Villarreal again because they have shown that they deserve to be where they are and this is not just because they got lucky.

If Manchester City had not won the home match, it would have been almost impossible for them to reach the final. Real Madrid is very strong in the Bernabeu. And so if yesterday's match somehow Real Madrid would have been able to win. Then they would have made it to the finals by playing defensively at the Bernabeu. Manchester City's performance was excellent. If they are able to perform in the second leg, they will be able to qualify for the final.
They won in reality and they controlled the match. However, they are still lack of something and can not destroy Real Madrid in the first leg. They failed to do it either by scoring more goals (wasting too many opportunities from Marez to Jesus) or preventing Real Madrid to score goals.

If we consider how strong Real Madrid are in matches with PSG and Chelsea, we should think of a very difficult second leg match for Manchester City in Bernabeu. In addition, let's see how Benzema and Real Madrid players show their confidence after the successful Panelka of Benzema.

It seems this season is for Real Madrid and Benzema. The trophy for Real Madrid and Ballon d'Or for Benzema.

Wow, what a game we had yesterday. City will feel disappointed even after winning the game, they played really, really well and should have scored a few more goals.
Then again - what to say about Real? They take even the smallest opportunities they can get - and while City is missing clear-cut chances Benzema needs only a half-cross to put the ball in the net.

City will feel that conceding 3 goals was too much - but using their chances is a trademark of Real's gameplay this season.

We can only hope that the second leg will be as good - the result will lead to an open game as well.

This is really what football is all about, and I just could not be more envious of anyone able to watch the game live,,, the scoreline also is not reflective of the whole game which some reports say City should also even have won like 8-2 or something. But clearly you only need to give Real Madrid a few chances and they will be able to convert them, unlike City who everybody knows has only one striker,,, but what a time of life to see him on form right?

Amazing game.

I also predicted a win and bet on Manchester City and win some nice amount of money,I knew it would have been difficult for them but I also knew that if they didn't win yesterday night it would be 100% game over for them for the further qualifying.Real Madrid I think is the favorite in the return leg but honestly English teams are completely unpredictable and if Chelsea were able to beat Real at home City is even more of a dangerous team so I think the qualification is still open but 60% for City and 40% for Madrid.

But judging by the way Real Madrid played away, they have a lot to show for their second leg at home. As said above, Real Madrid beat last year's champions Chelsea and are determined to make it to the final this year. I don't know how Manchester City will play away when they have hardly won a home game.

Manchester City vs Madrid it's finished how about Liverpool vs Villarreal, will Villarreal be the big team crusher today? like Juventus and Munich
I know almost everyone likes Liverpool as a winner apart from playing at home Liverpool are also known as an aggressive team
The problem  this prediction also happened to Villarreal in the last match until everyone was shocked that Munich was eliminated.
