Benfica really surprised with their brazenness away against Liverpool! Probably no one has played Liverpool like that before this season. Only Milan managed to score 2 goals against Liverpool, so we could say that Benfica set a record by scoring three goals. It will be interesting to see how Liverpool play Villarreal.
Liverpool has the right to go to the semifinals because of a good performance in the first leg, the result in the first leg gave Liverpool an advantage. Benfica tried to turn things around in the second leg, but Liverpool were too tough to beat. Benfica's struggle in the second leg was very surprising, they managed to score three goals against Liverpool. Despite failing to advance to the semifinals, Benfica was eliminated with an honor.
Liverpool came into the match with a changed line-up, giving rest to their key players for their weekend FA Cup clash against Manchester City. So I think this was what led to them conceding many goals. Liverpool did not look exactly as sharp as they generally do, but they managed to put in an overall decent performance. Offensively, they were ingenious as ever, carving open one opportunity after another. But defensively they did not exactly wrap themselves in glory. Benfica nearly took the lead with a couple of good chances in the closing stages of the game. Maybe Benfica might not have threatened Liverpool's overall fate in the game, but their performance did put Liverpool on the backfoot.
I sincerely think Benfica were decent last night against Liverpool, they did put up a great fight. It was their first leg performance that let them down otherwise they indeed showed strength and resilience. The game exposed Liverpool flaws with their high line. Klopp will need to sort the highline in subsequent games because if they are been caught by opponents who are not being wasteful in front, Liverpool will surely pay for it. Liverpool did deserve to qualify but it is worthy to note that they might not be lucky every time especially with a strong opponent.

I love what Pep Guardiola did with the formation, he also parked the bus, if all the teams start to play like athletico in the first football will be of the most boring sport,  that first leg from ATM wasn't football no matter how you want to paint it, teams that set up that way should be made to forfeit the match and the opposing team given 3 pts and 3 goals
In this Leg 2 match, Atletico Madrid played better and very much different from what they did in this Leg 1 match.
Atlético Madrid's performance was beyond expectations, many thought they would lose again due to a bad match in the 1st leg but they did something different in this match, they played very well even though there were no goals scored.
although Atletico did not qualify for the semifinals but I appreciate their struggle and they gave a very good game in this second leg.

Atletico Madrid didnt deserve in any minut of both games to go in to the next round. They defended 170/180 minutes of both matches . They started attacking in last 10 minutes of second match and wanted to win the match, this is not how football works no matter who the opponent is you just cannot defend always and not do anything in attack. Man City deserved to win and i hope to see them honestly in the final of UCL.

Yes, and I think Chelsea also went out with more honor against Real Madrid because it required extra time to determine who would win and it turned out that Real Madrid had the right to qualify.
Likewise with Liverpool vs Benfica who both struggled to defend themselves in order to qualify for the semi-finals which in the end everyone had to admit that Liverpool were also strong and superior in the first leg.
The results obtained by Benfica were very good, they were able to score 3 goals and beat Liverpool's draw, but that was all due to the carelessness of the Liverpool players when they were 3-1 ahead and Liverpool did not play with the entire main squad, even though the final results showed that Benfica had struggled hard in this match but Liverpool's quality is far above them of course it will be very difficult for them to beat Liverpool.

It is true that Benfica managed to throw 3 balls in the net against Liverpool, but he is helpless this season. There in the Portuguese league, he is far from the leaders of the league, Porto. We may not see him next season in the European CL. I think Liverpool's draw last night was evident by resting some players who can make the difference while facing the big teams

we've semi-finalist:
Man City vs. Real Madrid
Liverpool vs. Villarreal
The roles are clearly distributed in those games, the English teams are the favorites by quite some margin. The Spanish teams will need a good game from their side and a portion of luck to survive this round. Unfortunately this means we might see an all English final. (Sure the English teams are the best in their quality, but somehow I would have preferred an English semi-final instead  Wink)
Finally Manchester city was able to qualify for the semifinals, although they were very overwhelmed by the onslaught of ATM in the second leg of the champions league,
Finally the two giants of England and Spain met each other,
Real Madrid vs Manchester city, I think Real Madrid can beat Manchester city, even though I'm a Manchester city fan but I will place a bet for Real Madrid's victory,
While liferpol vs Villarreal, I am optimistic that liferpol can beat Villarreal,
Maybe this will be liferpol's revenge event because in the 2018 final liferpol was defeated by real Madrid with a score of 3-1.

They are beautiful semi-finals in themselves. For many, Villareal will be a big surprise. We can have a full English or a full Spanish final. A mix of them is also not possible. My preference would be Liverpool against Real Madrid. City against Liverpool that will be so boring, 2 English teams. We already had that with Chelsea and City last year. Would it still happen this year for City?
For me nothing is boring as long as they can play with high tactics and strategy, it's like something very different football for me. Yesterday I watched their match in the EPL too and it was great, about Spanish teams that compete in European competitions such as the UCL and Europa League they have become regulars. So nothing strange anymore I think but about the semifinals this time, and also it looks like we're going to get an English team that will compete in the final later. Indeed, at this moment it looks like Villarreal can make another surprise but I am sure, Liverpool will learn from Bayern Munich and of course Liverpool will anticipate and will continue to play with the results as expected. About Manchester City I personally have no doubts about their quality, even Real Madrid almost lost by Chelsea yesterday. So yes, this time the English team will really dominate Europe and I have no doubts about it.

For me it doesn't matter if the Champions League final will reunite two teams from the Premier League. Because somehow it must be admitted that
now the Premier League is the most popular and competitive football league in the world, so it's only natural that the Champions League is dominated
by Premier League teams. I agree that the match will not be boring if both teams show a good and entertaining game. In fact, I predict that this
year's Champions League will most likely be Man City and Liverpool who will qualify for the final. After all, both Man City and Liverpool both have
great coaches, so a strategic battle will ensue. So I believe if Man City met Liverpool in the final, it would be a very entertaining spectacle, because only
strong and qualified teams will qualify for the final.

I watched the City vs Atletico game. I thought Atletico did better than that. Manchester City did Atletico a favor by beating them. btw! In this stage of the UCL, both Manchester City and Liverpool represent England, which shows you how far away they are from the other teams in England. Real Madrid just keeps showing that this is their competition, while Villarreal is definitely making waves in Europe as a Spanish team representing the continent.

Benfica 3 goals at Anfield,,, this was the sign they truly deserved to go through and now Villareal against them for sure, remember, it was also Villareal who beat United n Europa, and also Unai Emery who beat Klopp in the same competition before that in the final,,, so to whoever thinks that Liverpool is the confirmed finalist, beware!

What a season this is!
I applaud the enthusiasm shown by Benfica last night, despite being behind, but in the end Nunes and his friends managed to equalize to 3-3, and aggregate to 6-4, but I think last night Jorgen Klopp did not field their main players , because Jorgen Klopp made the decision not to play Vandjik, Robertson and Arnold, to maintain their fitness, if jorgen fielded them from the start of the game the result would be different, I'm sure jorgen klop's decision not to field 3 of his mainstay defenders because jorgen klop has a mission to beat Manchester city in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on the 16th.

He's definitely not going to risk putting all his good players in one FA Cup game, that wouldn't be a good move knowing that they need to have all of their good players available to play in the remaining games if they want to be premier league champions. in my opinion the main objective of liverpool is to win the premier league and not the FA Cup, in the same way that winning the champions league would be something fantastic but that is something that you should be aware that it is something much more difficult in relation to win the premier league, that's why I think saving players against benfica, saving players in the FA Cup game is a good decision

The 3 goals that Benfica can score at home to Liverpool are indeed very good, but it can't be separated from the Liverpool players who are not the main players, and it is admitted by Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp that he was the one who was guilty of the goal because he played a new player who was inexperienced. . I think it's very natural when Liverpool are 3-1 up their coach is trying to rest some of his main players to stay fit in the next game.
I don't think there will be any surprises in this match because Liverpool were favorites to qualify and even they had a 3-1 lead in this 2nd leg before Roman Yaremchuk and Darwin Nunez scored for Benfica to make it 3-3 .

Liverpool had bad habit during knockout stage that since round 16 Liverpool was never win in the home matches and regarding the match i don't think they underestimate Benfica but first leg result makes them more comfortable to play with some of reserved players and as you can see some of key players didn't play since first half that's why Liverpool didn't playing with very well but this result is enough for them go to semi-final and facing Villareal
It doesn't matter how Liverpool end their home games because the important thing is that they can qualify for the semifinals and have a chance to reach the final this season.

As many have said, Liverpool's journey to the final this season was much easier than Real Madrid and Manchester City. But I believe Villareal are a dangerous team who could thwart Liverpool's dream of reaching the final if underestimated. No one is very sure they can qualify for the semi-finals if not the real supporters.

I didn't think Benfica would be able to draw at Liverpool. It seems Liverpool underestimated too much because they won in the first leg and early in the second leg. Liverpool shouldn't have conceded three goals at home, that's very risky.
For another match I saw the new UCL exciting commotion today. Even down to the changing hall. Alteletico really play hard leads to rough. Luckily the Man City players were not injured and they were able to draw to qualify for the semifinals.

From the start of the match, Atletico Madrid was seen playing a tight guard and they did not hesitate to play rough. Even before the game was about to end, where Atletico Madrid couldn't score yet, the situation is getting worse because they look very frustrated and they play rough games more and more. If Atletico Madrid chooses to play aggressively, they should be aware of the consequences, where there is the potential for them to receive yellow/red cards and of course, it was also an opportunity for the Manchester City players to buy time.
It was a very crucial match for both teams and I think Atletico Madrid tried their best to win it but they were just unlucky because in the end the goal was not scored. Their frustration is understandable because both teams played very carefully throughout the match and Manchester City's solid defense was also the cause, but it was an unexpected moment considering they are still 1 goal behind Manchester city.

For Liverpool, I think Benfica played very well by scoring 3 goals and preventing the second leg defeat by Liverpool. But because Liverpool are ahead on aggregate, it's clear we can qualify easily even if the match ends in a draw. Now Villareal, maybe they are an easy opponent compared to Manchester City and Real Madrid. I'm sure Liverpool will be in the final this season.

The Liverpool vs Benfica game was a cracker, six exciting goals from the game. After Liverpool went 3-1 up in the game, everyone thought that is it! Like Liverpool was riding to victory but Benfica thought otherwise. They fought back and score two more goal to draw the game. Congratulations to Liverpool for qualifying but big kudos to Benfica for their mentality in the game.

Since Salah and Mane are the most important players in Liverpool. So our expectations from them are always higher. But these two players did not play well in yesterday's match. However, Firmino and Jota have filled their gaps very well. They have managed to score three goals. And for this reason, Liverpool is a stable team. They are not entirely dependent on any particular player. The team has lots of talented players.
Liverpool is very much dependent on Mo Salah more this season, that's the reason they fell off the top of the log at the time Salah was absent because of Egypt participation in the AFCON. They were struggling in the league for quite some time. Although they now have exciting players who can turn games to their favor if Salah or Mane are not performing but to compete in a marathon competition every team need at least two consistent players to rely on.
Liverpool has yet to find a replacement for Salah and Mane. they are a very good partner and are productive to destroy the opponent's defense. In the Premier League Salah has 20 goals and Mane 13 this season. Diogo Jota is also very productive with his 15 goals. but indeed there is no player like Salah who is creative in building attacks. Liverpool must think about their player shopping agenda next season.
