the final match will be very interesting because from the Netherlands there are some players who look impressive in the Champions League for example like Van dijk, he will be the perfect defender for the Netherlands but we also know in Portugal there is Cristiano Ronaldo on-fire, he scored a hat trick in semifinals. in this final I hope that Portugal is the champion.

I agree players need a break, football is so intense and then especially when there are international games. I totally get when players retire early from national squads so that they can play club football properly.

Then again, when at peak, I remember wanting to play every day. And that would have been possible except that training in modern football's incredibly intense as well.

Match fitness is a thing though. You don't play for weeks and no amount of training and physical conditioning will get you as good as just playing regularly. That Champs League final for example, was terrible fitness levels.

Van Dijk to score and NL to win in finals. Wishful thinking?

Well all big matches are over all leagues are over EL and CL are over. How its time for the Euro qualifying to go into next round. We will have two games for this exception is national teams that will play final in League of Nations. So let discuss for upcoming matches and predict something that will bring someone here some additional income.

I don't think that more matches are needed in order to cover the break when competitions are over.
Don't forget that football players need to rest a little bit, in order to be ready for the next season to be productive.

Like it or not they have matches today and in next 3-4 days it scheduled national team playing like finals in League of nations where we will see Portugal and Holland that turn the tide last night. After that match think they have good chances to take this and be first team that qualified to the Euro next year.

As a football fan i love EURO championship.European Championship, which runs from 12 June to 12 July, will look a lot different to previous versions of the competition. There are 10 qualifying groups, of five and six teams, with the top two countries from each group going through automatically.any team can qualify, in  recent  20th march serbia shows their ability to grow up they  play Against Germany and draw the match 1-1.anything can happen in this League.

I agree with this. But they should organize qualifications for these tournaments in some other way. This way there is too many matches with clear favorites. I liked the format of Nations league where they group the teams by their strength. That way we have greater amount of excellent matches.

That would go against the spirit of the games. Weak teams like Monaco and San Marino are given a chance to compete against sides such as Germany and France once every two years (for WCQ as well as for the EUCQ). These matches mean a lot for these teams. And upsets are not that rare during these qualification matches... I still remember the Cyprus vs Portugal match in 2010 (4-4).
Monaco? LOL, they don't even have national team Cheesy. But yeah, I agree with your point. For small countries it's chance to see biggest stars of football, earn from tickets, TV rights and etc. But it's obvious that such games are boring for neutral spectators. Maybe Nations League format is more interesting because same level teams playing against each others, but I don't think that changes in qualification system should be made.

Exactly, and we should not forget that football is commercialized in many parts.
When the groups are mixed with strong and weak teams there will be more interest in watching the games from all nations, while forming groups of only strong teams and weak teams will gather the interest of fans only in the groups with the strong teams
It's always been the same since I have been following this football championships, a group contains 1-2 experienced teams, 2 more teams that are inferior and the rest are mediocre teams. In qualification rounds usually you don't get many interesting matches because you will never see two of the strongest team both in the same group.

It becomes even more annoying when your favourite key player from the club you support picks up an injury from these international breaks. However, we can't avoid them, otherwise nice competitions such as the much anticipated wordcup would not be possible.

It is the duty of the player to represent the national team at least 2-3 times a year. If he can play 40 matches for the club side per year, then it is not fair to stay away from two or three matches representing the national aide.

Yeah, fair point.
These kind of situations are unavoidable, National side matches also is platform for a lot players to get the needed attention from football scouts.

I’m glad this crap is over again for now. Let’s get back to the Champions League & Domestic Title races.

You are most definitely not alone on this, It's come to the most important part of the season where every match and point is vital, and most teams are still playing for something, Hardly will you come across a boring club side match these days like we've witnessed all through the international break.

I do agree with you on the Messi bit. He's a great player but would really love to see him play for a club other than Barcelona. It would be much easier to make comparisons with CR7.

As for CR7 he has proved that he can fit anywhere... I don't think fitting in Barcelona would be a problem for him despite their system of play. Don't forget that he's style of play has changed over the years. He no longer chases the ball that much and do those fancy tricks.

I think its all about the system, Messi has played in Barcelona and he is definitely a great player but Barcelona has also created a system (and raised Messi in that system) that shows off his talents and his skills, put Messi in any other team and he would probably not be as good, not because he isn't good btw, he is still good in any team but team wouldn't know how to utilize his talents to the most of his capabilities.

So, when he plays in Argentina he doesn't really look his best not because all of a sudden he is a bad player but because the coaches don't know how to utilize his talents in a right system.

Barcelona is not a team that just purchases players out right and hopes it works out, they either raise their own talented players or get players that would fit in that system, Cristiano Ronaldo even though he is one of the best players ever in history wouldn't be good in that system for example, because the system works on making the ball run for you instead of running yourself whereas Ronaldo uses his physical abilities as well.
