UEFA championship is one my favourite tournament.EURO 2020 is being held across the continent for the first time in the competition's 60-year history, with 12 host cities in all.12/06/2020: Opening game, Olimpico in Rome
12/07/2020: Final, Wembley Stadium (London).

I wonder how this will work out, it almost sounds like a champions league games where the teams and the supporter's flyes in the same day and leaves the host city a few hours after the game. The whole soul of the EURO national team championship is going to absent in 2020.

It is going to be a logistical nightmare. And for the fans, it is going to cause a lot of inconvenience. Schengen Zone and its visa rules have made international traveling within the EU borders easier, but no one is going to be happy if they need to travel 3,000 km in 5 days.

National teams that qualify for the EURO 2020 and also are having a host stadium, will get minimum one or two home games in the group stage. Both the final and the two semifinals will be played on  Wembley in London, so that will be a small advantage for England if they make it past the quarterfinals.

Hey thanks for this update I wasn’t aware that it was going to be spread out over 12 cities, it’s like champions league but instead of the clubs this time it’s going to be different countries. I like this idea as many fans often miss out due to not being able to travel, this time they’ll be able to see it in the stadium. Also it’s pertinent to note that none of the host countries can charge exorbitant amounts from travelling fans, as the cup is spread over different cities.

Feeling good about English football right now.  The good showing at the World Cup, trashing opponents in this qualifier, and 4 EPL clubs in the final 8 at the CL.  Smiley
Yeah! easy to see that when it's still world cup/Euro qualifiers, wait when the real world cup action starts that's when we all get to realize that it was just  a dream

Can't say the same for Champion's league as the last time this happened (2008-09 Champions League). Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United advanced and beat Barcelona in the Final.
That would turn out to be Cristiano Ronaldo's best and last season at United.

And this time,,, they have to meet them in the quarterfinals. I do not see them doing it this time however because as good as Paul Pogba is he is not as good as Messi Suarez and Dembele.

Whoever supports Barcelona will only be worried if they have to meet Liverpool and then Juventus at the finals.

The EURO does not always show the proper side of the national team though, or even the players. See Messi struggle at Argentina, or Ronaldo not do well for Portugal.

It may be more tiring for the teams but fans have the possibility of watching games that they couldn't because they couldn't transport to another country.
I believe that the organizers may thought of that and they will not make a difficult schedule for the teams with a lot of flights in a short period of time.

Yesterday games produced a lot of goals although the odds didn't suggest there would be tons of goals in Sweden and Switzerland game which means some of the games were really fun ti watch.A game with 6 goals I think is never boring to watch.
Sure a 6 goal match is never a boring game if you are a neutral but one would certainly feel disappointed if they expected their team to win or if they placed a bet on a certain team to win and it didn't win 😬

Portugal struggling in this beginning , they have drawn at home against Serbia which although is a good team I think Portugal should have took the three points from this match.

Certainly feels like the time for English football is coming again. Football goes in cycles doesn’t it & it could be time for especially English club teams to shine.

I think the biggest surprise was actually Spain who only managed to get in 2 goals. Against only Malta? This is a very weak team they were playing whose odds were over 200 to win. I bet a lot of people lost handicap bets on Spain.
I was reading some articles from the spanish media talking about the game, and some journalists said that they felt like they lost against Malta, just because they couldn't score more than 2 goals, which to be honest, is actually alarming considering that Malta is one of the worst teams in Europe.

I'd be surprised if they don't win every single game in the group, actually, they have to win every game since Group A is by far the easiest group of the qualifiers, I mean, the only decent team is Czech Republic and they lost 5-0. They should just give England the ticket to the Euro 2020.

That is why national teams and league teams are so different on odds. National teams do not play 30+ games a year and that means they are not used to each other and the risk is just too big. Why does the sportsbooks give you low odds for possible winning teams?

Because, if we are talking about Barcelona vs bad team we know what Barcelona can do and how amazing they are but if we are talking about any great national team like Spain or France and what not they could lose at any moment because those teams only played like once or twice whole year together, roster is foreign to each other and they need to just get to know each other and could do silly mistakes, sportsbooks do not take that chance and just give low odds for you. That is why qualifying would probably have bad odds but the real cup would probably have good odds.

A 5-1 win against a minnow side like Montenegro is no reason to get ballistic. For starters, the population of Montenegro is less than 1% of that of England. Luckily for England, the got themselves placed in a very weak group along with teams such as Kosovo and Montenegro.

My Georgia did put up quite a fight but it wasn't to be. I honestly couldn't care about the other results at the moment, but so far my pick of the tourney hasn't delivered. Only 1 parlay won in these flurry of first qualifiers, I think I may have a nett loss but still early days.

Now, back to club action. Wonder how many people got injured by this latest bout of internationals? I dread to read team news post qualifiers.

And see what happens, Switzerland got a good lead and then threw it away. And you lose your perfect parlay:)

Yup. But to be fair, I think of all the legs in that parlay, Switzerland was the highest paying one IIRC.

About time the tossers reminded us how good they can be when they're not Spice Boys, right?

Farewell LEO: o_e_l_e_o

Ireland vs Georgia : Ireland
Italy vs Liechtenstein : Italy to win both halves
Malta vs Spain : Spain to win both halves
Romania vs Faroe Islands : Romania

I felt lucky with this pick yesterday. If I would pick one more team from the qualifying round in win - draw - win market then I would lose it. I definitely wound not go with a draw.

Good luck everyone until the next match day which is after a long break by the way.

No big teams playing each other tonight, looks like a crap time to try & win some money. Odds are poor as there are a lot of favourites playing low ranked teams.
It seems like all favorites with low odds are just killing it tonight. Right now with 5 minutes left before break Italy leads 3-0,Bosnia 2-0, Spain 1-0,Switzerland 1-0,Romania 3-0, Ireland 1-0. Even if all odds for this teams to win were low stil this would have been the perfect parlay with a pretty good odd.

And see what happens, Switzerland got a good lead and then threw it away. And you lose your perfect parlay:)

This is exactly the reason why it doesn't always make sense to bet on the favorites especially when the payouts are so low. It ended up to not be a good parlay just because of one stupid team (switzerland). Lead 3-0 at 76th minute I bet they thought they had it. But Denmark truly deserved this, they had more attempts than Swiss.

I had placed my bets yesterday for a tie in Switzerland-Denmark and Norway-Sweden.
At around 80' I stopped looking at the matches because I considered them lost and now I read that they both made scores of 3-3. I am so impressed and excited at the same time!
