I'm sure England will advance to the final in Euro2020.

Will the final be Italy vs England? or Spain vs England?
My bet is on England to win the Euro 2020, they are playing well and Harry Kane is motivating the team and they are playing aggressive football and finding opportunities to score goals and two more games and they will be the champions. I did not expect England to reach the quarter finals before the tournament but now i am convinced we will see them in the final unless they misfire completely and have an off day.

The other finalist might be Italy as Spain was inconsistent in the last match and was struggling to score a goal against Switzerland.

Actually I'm not too sure about England even I doubt they go to the final Denmark is not an easy opponent at the moment because they are on fire
England also has a bad record in the semi-finals, well I match it with the surprises that keep happening in this tournament   and the potential is in the England vs Denmark match.

Yeah, sometimes, their performance may be different and surprising in the field, there are also several factors that influence how they play.
However, so far, they have been playing very well. Let's hope that England will have a bigger chance to defeat Denmark.  Grin
Italy has won, and next, it will be Italy x Spain.
It is difficult to consider which one will win the game. Spain, we know that many good and professional players there, their performance is also always awesome. However, Italy also always plays very well so far. It is still difficult to determine the one.

I also did not expect them to settle the match on a penalty shootout against Switzerland.
Did you also expect that the same Switzerland would eliminate the world champions France in the RO16 in the same penalty shootout, everyone thought it was just basically going to be a walk around the park for France in that game, but they were eliminated, Spain may not have eliminated the Swiss in style, but they did, something France failed to do, thus they didn't do badly at all.

I'm not saying Spain have been scintillating, but they haven't been bad either, and with with calibre of teams that have been sent parking, making it this far is an achievement, they are just one game away from the final in Wembley, it could be debatable, but Spain deserves credit.

It is somewhat ironic that all of these conclusive matches are played in England considering that after Brexit, the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union. It really seems like a disproportionate advantage to be able to play practically every match at home, compared to other national teams that in some cases have always played away. If the English win against Denmark they will have played almost every game in Wembley (all but the QF in Rome).

This was already the plan 3 years ago.
It makes sense? No! But, it was another mess that the former management of UEFA made. It made the tournament unbalanced.

At this point Denmark has zero chances in my mind, yet we have seen some crazy stuff happen in the tournament didn't we? I mean we have seen Switzerland beat France, that was probably the biggest upset we have seen in this tournament so far, but we have seen Czech Republic beat Netherlands as well which was a bit of a shock to the world as well.

This doesn't mean that every game will be underdogs winning of course, England is biggest favorites and 99% chance that they will win this game, that is why I do not see any chance for Denmark to win at all.

Considering that Denmark is pretty much the only underdog team left in semi finals, Im pretty sure that there are alot of people that are skeptical about Denmark as well but they have come this far and they might be able to win against England. Aside from being skeptical about Denmark, Alot of people seems to have a higher hope on England especially after scoring 4 goals against Ukraine

As for myself, I prefer Denmark to win rather than England destroying Denmark in the semi finals. Its definitely going to be alot more exciting to watch an underdog team win against a favourite team

This is also where I ask myself how it is even possible that the UEFA decides to give so many home games to England. Is that somehow a political decision? Are there things involved the public doesn't know about? This was a championship that was meant to be distributed all over England and even given that England is currently most affected by Corona, the UEFA sticked to their decisions.

I think it was decided in advance. After all, there were 11 home cities during this Euro so a lot of countries did have home advantage - it isn't fair to say that only England was given that luxury. For example, England played their quarterfinal game vs Ukraine in Rome and still won confidently.

I agree that the whole Euro was unfair towards a lot of countries but we're lucky that it happened, so I'll let this one slide. After all, the games are decided at the pitch itself and England did deserve this semifinal.

I didn't pay attention to the stadiums. I've also realized that both games are going to be played in Wembley. It doesn't make any difference for Italy or Spain. But it is quite advantageous for England indeed. They are going to play in their home stadium and it's quite likely to see the number of England supporters more than Denmark's. With this buff, I'm very sure now that England will defeat Denmark.

England played almost all games at home, only one match they played in Italy which is the last game against Ukraine. The biggest impact was on Germany game because it was like there were no restrictions, stadium was almost full in that game. Some teams traveled thousands of kilometres while England was playing all games at Wembley, it's not fair but it looks like nobody object to this.

As it is football and we have already seen some shocking results so maybe I am wrong, I will admit that I lost a good amount of money during this tournament so obviously I am not the guy to talk about who will win and who will lose. At the very least, it is a good tv and very entertaining to say the least.

And we finally have all our semi-finalists! The draws are like this now:

Italy - Spain
England - Denmark

~spin~
Italy and Spain are all big countries and have good games. Spain with possession and Italy with a record of conceding two goals to date. In the last two Euros they beat each other, today the game is repeated. I have a hard time guessing but in terms of the game I favor Spain with possession of the ball. But possession of the ball does not guarantee victory. Now playing effectively is better than just having the ball.
Italy also has good ball control as well as Spain but this is not the last proof because I know before that also possession of the ball does not guarantee victory by its own country, I think Italy will continue to rely on great attacks and Spain will continue to control the ball in front of goal to find a gap in his goal, ahh this is indeed difficult to predict.

I'm sure England will advance to the final in Euro2020.

Will the final be Italy vs England? or Spain vs England?

It is the best candidate.

England - Denmark

there is much surprise Denmark going to semi-finals.

No worry, England would be easy going to the final because have benefit playing at home (Wembley - London). so far Harry Kane playing well, If luke shaw doing the same ( good assist) like before it could be many goals create by an attacker in front. It's not impossible that Kane will be the top scorer if he is able to make a goal in the semifinals or even in the final later. but of course, he needs well supply with nice collaboration with Sterling too.

Pretty long Embarrassed
I find this listing very interesting. Look at the top 5 scorers, their teams are out of the competition. Sterling, Kane and Dolberg #6 with 3 goals each. I think many rooting for Kane to tie with CR7 or maybe become n1 by the end of the final game?

england reach their first European championship semi-final since 1996 after big win against ukraine , England played well , the goals of match Kane 3', 49', Harry , Maguire 45', Henderson 62'  , England are the first team in Euro history to start their campaign with five clean sheets in a row congrat for england , the next round or next match will be very dificult for sure whatever the team some say denmark is an easy team, but Denmark can make a surprise , personally i think england cannot win before 120 minute in best case

Denmark is playing very well. England will not find easy positions in the Ukraine match against them. Denmark's defense is stronger. They can make a surprise against England. A fierce match awaits us. I see England one step closer to victory.

I wouldn't be surprised if Denmark beat England. You are right. Denmark's defense is strong. Their whole team is stable enough. But we must not forget that Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are in the England squad. Both are great players and experienced enough. They have the ability to break any strong defense and score goals. So the chances of both teams winning this match are 50-50.

You're right about 50-50 percent. There is a very important shortcoming in Denmark. Had Christian Eriksen been active in Denmark now, Denmark's offensive line would have been 20 percent more active. A very important offensive player cannot play. When we look at it this way, England with players like Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling comes one step ahead.

 Cool

I fully agree with Pmalek. If an immediate situation preceding a goal was clearly wrong, where there is no doubt, the goal shouldn't count. It's hard when there is a semi clear foul, but this was just blatantly factually clear. It was no corner, period. There is not even room for discussion. As the corner immediately preceded the goal. I would say it's fair to not count the goal. Again, it is a harder with a free kick, but when it comes to corner you can easily check it. Such a wrong corner shouldn't decide a European Championship final round game.

you're absolutely right. the video assistant comes in for every little decision. but for such an important decision, nothing happens.
that's the biggest joke of this european championship so far. but this european championship is very strange anyway.
many favourites are already at home. if I'm honest....... i'm already looking forward to the next european championship.
then in front of many thousands of fans and without corona fear.......i hope so

I would still say it is absolutely worth watching. I remember when Greece took home the championship, it was kind of an impressive and romantic soccer story that even the smallest soccer nations could win such a huge trophy. And keep in mind we can still have a final that's called England vs. Italy/Spain, which is quite to watch for sure!

I don't think Spain is doing very well. They are performing average quality....
I don't know how possible it is that a team that's not doing well are in the semis of the tournament, just making it this far is an achievement in itself and Spain deserve all the credit they can get, they have been playing good attacking football in my opinion and I believe their attack can cause Italy problems.
A semi-finals is a great achievement for teams that have not reach that stage yet but not for countries that won the title like Spain. I can understand why some people aren't satisfied with their performance so far since they were used to watching excellent football from their "golden era".

I also did not expect them to settle the match on a penalty shootout against Switzerland.

I don't think Spain is doing very well. They are performing average quality. Italy's squad is much more experienced than Spain's and they are almost irresistible. Spain's win against Switzerland was almost uncertain. In the match between Italy and Spain, I will definitely put Italy ahead.

Italy may be favorites for some, but I'd not say it's game over even before the match starts, Spain are a word class team, and when two teams of this quality meet, at this crucial stage of the tournament, then there are no favorites if you ask me, as a neutral, I'll be looking forward to watching a brilliant game.
I'm also basically neutral but somehow after seeing the Spanish and Italian games at the start, I feel that Italy is better now. But that doesn't mean Spain is bad either, I feel Spain in this tournament has a lot of surprises which maybe it will also because Enrique has a lot of tactics and strategy so yes, Spain so far is still difficult to predict. So it's no wonder some of them and including myself are the favorites for Italy but still, I still feel Spain might be able to qualify for the final because I think Enrique can do well too.
