LOL.. I don't agree with your classification of Denmark as the "underdog". If Germany and Netherlands had qualified for the semi-finals, would you call them as underdogs? I am asking this, because Denmark is ranked higher than these teams.-snip-

Maybe we have a different point of view regarding the "underdogs", I mention Denmark as the Underdogs, because they often stop at the group stage. Even in the previous competition (EURO 2016),  Denmark did not participate, CMIIW. That's why I call them underdogs, not because of their FIFA rankings. Even though, for example, Germany is ranked in the FIFA 100, I wouldn't say they are underdogs, because at EURO they have won several times.

The only remaining underdogs are Denmark, against England it looks like they won't be the favorites to win. I also doubt Denmark's potential for the Final, because in terms of players, England can be said better. However, if Denmark can win it, it reminds me of Euro 2004, where Greece won the title, even though they are not the favorite team to win for most people.

I am asking this, because Denmark is ranked higher than these teams. But I agree that against England (and that too at the Wembley), the Danes are clearly the underdogs. But the other semi-final match is going to be more exciting (the one between Spain and Italy). It is a battle between two equal sides, who have fielded squads made predominantly of younger players this time. And out of the 4 teams, England is the clear favorite.

Just woke up and saw the Semi - finalist line up as

Who do you think is favorite now to win the title ?

The second pair of teams makes me very happy. I will be rooting for Denmark, but even if England make it to the final it will also be a good outcome as England deserves some achievement in such a long number of years. It would be especially good if the teams from the first pair exhausted each other and in the final the winner of the England - Denmark pair became the champion.

It seems that even though England can beat Denmark, it won't be easy in the final because England have to meet Italy or Spain.  I beat Italy in the match against Spain but did not rule out Spain who would win it.  Both teams did very well in executing the game, they deserved to get into the top 4. Kane' team has good performance and they should keep their performance to final.

England and Denmark were both great yesterday. Denmark played just as I expected. They were hungry for a win again and they demolished Czech Republic in the first half already. England were even better in terms of performance and scoring. They literally obliterated Ukraine 4-0. Ukraine got some goal chances after the first goal but they couldn't make use of those chances.

It'll be a very interesting semi final game between these two.

You can't say that Czech Republic got demolished by Denmark. I wacted the match, and although Denmark had the advantage in the first half, Czech Republic fought back really well during the second half. They manage to score one goal, but unfortunately they couldn't get the equalizer despite trying really hard. And considering the fact that Denmark is ranked much higher when compared to Czech Republic, I would say that it was a good performance from the latter. They were just unlucky on that day.

What about the petition for a rematch between France and Switzerland? I read the news in the local media that more than 250 thousand have signed it. This case is about when Kylian Mbappe executed a penalty, Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer was found outside the goal line.

Yes, this seems unfair to French supporters. But in the game there are some things that the referee can't see clearly. Replaying the match is impossible, I think this petition was made by the france supporters.

But after that the petition was stopped, there were some comments and evidence that one of the goalkeeper's feet stepped on the goal line. Grin

VAR doesnt check wether it was a valid corner or not.
In my opinion, that is wrong. I have seen goals being cancelled in the Italian league because the ball passed the throw-in line during the attack that lead to the goal. If the referees can cancel a goal because of a throw in, they should have the ability to do it because of properly given (or not given) corners. As we saw from the Denmark - Czech Republic example, the referee's mistake f**ked the Czechs really hard.

Four countries that advance to semifinals, only Denmark, whose current success is beyond the expectations and predictions of football lovers.
Need almost 3 decades for Denmark to return to the semifinals or even repeat the history of 1992 by becoming champions.
But still Italy and England favorites to advance to Final.
There are several scenarios in my opinion that might happen in the semifinals about who will reach the final.
1. Italy vs Denmark
2. Italy vs England
3. Spain vs Denmark
4. Spain vs England

I'm sure many people hope Italy vs England will be the final match of Euro 2020. But I prefer Spain vs England among the 4 scenarios above. Although Italy has been impressive so far, Spain should not be underestimated.

To give a percentage for the Italy-England final, it would be over 50 percent. Italy played a game that I liked very much in the group matches, in the Round of 16 and in the quarter-finals. Spain, on the other hand, did not look as good a team as Italy.

I don't see Spain at the moment capable of beating Italy. Italy is playing a very balanced game, as Spain fluctuates a lot in their type of game throughout the match.
I'm not saying Spain won't be able to win, this is a football game and anything can happen. But based on overall performance, Italy is expected to win.

I would like to share the things that caught my attention in the Switzerland - Spain match. Spain is not the old strong Spain team. They are far from the golden generation. Spain should have been able to score comfortably against Switzerland with 10 people remaining. They won the match because they were lucky. Swiss players used penalties on weak and simple places. Spain goalkeeper Simon held a very good place. They skipped the lap thanks to the goalkeeper.

English vs Denmark, Spain vs Italy. The EURO 2020 semi-final matches fulfilled expectations, despite the world champions France, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Croatia, the world champions runner-up, failed to prevail. It is interesting to note that all teams from what was called "group of death" have already been eliminated from the competition. However, England has reached the semi-finals without conceding a goal, with an impressive 8:0 goal difference.

In my opinion we have one seminfinal now with Spain vs Italy that is not really a surprise as both of the teams were part favorites for the championship for many people even before the tournament started and both managed to live up to that status until now. Spain had some problems in the group stage and it was also very possible that they were removed from the tournament there but they manged to win their last game there and now made it into the semi final. Italy on the other hand is probably the team that showed the strongest performances in over the whole tournament which great defending but also a strong offensive which is not unusual for a italian team.
Whoever advances from the semi-final match England vs. Denmark will be the underdog in the final.

I'm one hoping it's Italy Denmark (only because of an outright still riding on Italy that pays more than the Spain outright I also have haha), but yeah, hard to see how England can lose the semi, and Spain aren't going to be pushovers.

Italy probably deserve it most after their entire tourney performance, I mean goals and goals from an Italian team, they're really exorcising the ghosts of defensive reputation aren't they?

i don't think Spain would win, i think that this is the year for Italy to win something, they're playing really well and i also think they have better players compared to Spain, and the last one had troubles qualifying in the groups and against Switzerland with penalties, but maybe things would be different against a team like Italy and their style of play, we'll see.

Indeed they are quite good this year. They have conceded only 2 goals in 5 matches. That's in the fall phase. Seeing this, maybe Spain will find it difficult to score goals. But I'm pretty sure their possession of the ball is able to create chances and result in the winning goal. Italy is not without weaknesses I think this is Italy's first test against a big team.

So, Denmark was the first team to reach the semifinals of an edition of the European Championships after losing two games in the group stage of the competition.
In Baku, the European dream continues for the Danish national team that overcomes the Czech obstacle and reaches the semifinals (the last time was in 1992), where it will face England (at the Wembley stadium).
Delaney immediately opened the scoring with a great head shot, then at the end of the first half, Dolberg doubled the score on a wonderful assist by Maehle. The Czech Republic scored in the second half with the usual Schick, but after the triple whistle, it's time for Denmark to celebrate and keep dreaming.
Problem is that waking up, England is right before their eyes.

Denmark may be dreaming of a title again this season after 1992. But winning the title will not be easy for them. The opponent in the next match is England. England have not lost a match so far. They have beaten strong opponents like Croatia and Germany. I think Denmark's hopes of winning the title, England will end here

I think England will make it to the final, but will end up losing to Spain, or probably Italy. Both Spain and Italy are much better than England in terms of defense and offense. The 4-0 victory belies a bit the fact that England has big problems offensively. If you take out Sterling and Kane, then it looks very bad. Neither Croatia nor Germany or Ukraine did understand this. The Spanish and Italians will do much better and then it will be hard for England.

The goal should not have counted. It wasn't a corner at all. If you look at the play that lead to the corner, the ball touched the Danish player's foot before going out of play. The correct decision should have been goal kick for the Czech Republic and not a corner for Denmark.

I am surprised that VAR didn't notice this

VAR doesnt check wether it was a valid corner or not. It is used to determine wether a goal ( or to check on some offensive foul ) should be rewarded or not so in this case the VAR will check starting from the corner being taken until the ball pass the goal line so it was indeed a valid goal because there was no infringement in between that.
