Because from the start the Czechs carried out a fairly good defensive scheme throughout the match which made the match more difficult than expected but with the score in the final minute the conditions became quite good where Portugal finally won with a narrow score where they managed to get possession of the ball and opportunities from beginning.

All in all this game was very exciting and an interesting game between the two teams. Portugal were under a lot of pressure at the start and they faced a tough loss. When the Czech scored a goal in the 62nd minute, Portugal were more than disappointed and more than excited to level the game. Although we saw the Czech lose the match due to a mistake, Robin Hranac's own goal beat the team, otherwise the result would have been a draw. Base on their first matches, it's true to consider they as best candidates for Euro 2024 title but other big teams can improve next matches. EURO Round The first match has been played by each country, the most satisfying are 3 matches, first Germany started the Euro by scoring 5 goals, then secondly Spain also managed to tear apart Croatia without a fight, then thirdly the appearance of Turkey, this team brought so much the excitement, beautiful goals scored from long distance make me very satisfied watching it. Arda Guller second goal was very classy and deserved to be the MOTM in that match. Arda appearing increasingly confident as a Real Madrid Wonderkid certainly made Ancelotti happy to see his favorite player score a goal from outside the penalty box. Not many young players Arda age can appear in a competition as big as EURO and score goals. Turkey is indeed much more solid, if you look at the player ratings, it is appropriate because from the back line to the front line, the Turkish players can be a threat if they continue to perform consistently.

For me, Group F is quite tight and Portugal has a tough candidate to play against. Btw, Portugal vs Czechia match ended dramatically because it almost ended in a draw. I don't think that the Portugal team was in much trouble during the match with Cech Republic. I understand that no country has yet understood the nature of this years Euro. So both big and small countries are being very careful not to be eliminated in the group stages and that is why you see that a lot of goods are not being scored. I have checked the Portugal squad and it seems that they have what it takes to proceed to the next round of the competition. And when the squad is so balanced and dedicated having a mixture of old and young players to give their best. I am very sure that Portugal is among the contenders of this very trophy. Let's be hopeful and watch throughout the group matches and see what happens in the other round of the competition.

Portugal's game was actually very cool in this match, they built attacks smoothly, very different from Portugal who usually play counter attacks. However, Portugal was unable to score a goal in the first half. Indeed, the Czech defense was very strong. Portugal won a comeback win against the Czech Republic in their Euro 2024 opener. Despite dominating possession, Portugal’s performance was unconvincing with a slow build-up and lack of creativity. Cristiano Ronaldo, playing at his sixth European Championship, missed key chances. The Czech Republic led with a goal from Lukas Provod, but an own goal by Robin Hranac leveled the game. Conceicao’s goal in stoppage time gave Portugal a 2-1 victory.

Turkey has a very big chance of topping that group but they would have had a bugger chance if Portugal were denied the 3 points by Czech a few hours ago. The game was all Portugal from the beginning to the end of the first half and even in the second half, Portugal was the only team playing any football because the Czech were so poor on the field, but to everyone's surprise, they got the first goal. Portugal had to fight to get the comeback because it was looking like a draw.

Despite Portugal getting 3 points today, they were not convincing because the Czech was so bad yet Portugal struggled, what would have done when they faced a better-equipped team? Turkey can take full points from their next two games and Portugal is one of them. That would be very difficult for them to do, but very possible.
I know it's too early in the competition to say, but I don't see Portugal making it to the finals, let alone winning the trophy despite being packed with stars.

In my opinion, this is a result that shows that Portugal will hardly win this euro, the opponent of today's game was not a strong opponent when compared to the squad of both teams, but even so, Portugal had a lot of difficulties to win the game, Portugal's attack it was inefficient, even though they had more than 70% possession of the ball they were unable to be effective in attack and won thanks to luck. Portugal never expected Czech to be much of a opposition to them, They were lucky to get away with this victory. I failed very sad for the Czech Republic players because they worked so hard against Portugal, defended so very well in the first half and then the second half, tried a tactic to put them in front which worked. The players were overwhelmed with the Portuguese pressure and started making mistakes, that was their pitfall. Turkey and Georgia will not be easy for Portugal to beat.

Honestly I'm not surprised that Portugal struggled to win against Czechia. Czechia is a strong side to beat in a football match. They might not be among the Europe top teams, but when you are playing them, you will struggle to win. They knew that if they come out to play against Portugal man to man, Portugal will score them many goals. So they tried to defend and concede as few goals as possible in order to have a chance to qualify from the group. From their pattern of play you will see that Czechia were aiming for a draw in this match and they nearly achieved it if not for the late goal from the Portuguese side. Watch out what will happen when they play Georgia in their next game, you will see how aggressive Czechia will be. They are certain that Portugal are going to beat Turkey. But Turkey are not going to hand Portugal an easy win here, Turkey are going to make things difficult for Portugal, they are going to defend more than Czechia did against Portugal today, knowing fully well that a draw against Portugal will be a step closer to qualify out of the group stage.

I followed the first part of the game and I saw a total domination from Portugal with few opportunities from Czechia stopped by the defence line. There was a very good assist made to Leao but he was like 1 second late from scoring the first goal. That was the most threatening attack since the beginning of the game. Cristiano Ronaldo header was the other opportunity to score that was missed. Overall, Portugal deserves to win.


It is early to say that since Turkiye faced the weakest team in the group in my opinion. Turkiye has to win against Czechia if they want to qualify.

Portugal achieved victory with great difficulty, they had many opportunities but it looked quite difficult to penetrate the Czechia defense. Several times they tried attacks from all directions until finally in the final 90+2 minutes they managed to save Portugal from a draw. Overall the Czechia could not do anything other than defend against Portugal attacks. In group F, Turkey while leading very well, was able to score 3 goals, I watched this match much more excitingly than watching Portugal against the Czechia. Arda scored his second goal fantastically, but honestly the first and second goals were the most eye-catching goals. Once again Arda has proven that he is a quality player, in the national team Arda is able to be a figure who contributes and is willing to work hard.

I wasn't expecting us to be the leader in Group F after the first matches. It was thanks to Portugal's having quite much issues with breaking Czechia defense.    I really liked our offense against Georgia but can't say the same when it comes to defense. We gave big spaces to our opponent. If they were a more capable team we wouldn't be able to win this match. We need to improve our defense until the Portugal match otherwise it is very difficult for us to get a point.

Portugal definitely had a difficult game tonight despite having star players on their side. Portugal where initially losing 1-0, before they came from behind to equalise the game and they later won. Czech played defensively because of the pressure from Portugal but the pressure didn't come as too much of a threat as Czech where able to still find ways to return the energy back to the defence line of Portugal. it was a lucky win for Portugal as far as concerned. Though so far with the competition, the underdogs haven't given too much of a room for the big guys to overshadow them. Ronaldo didn't get too much of opportunities to score except for this last one that he wasn't able to head the ball and conceicao was able to score as a result of rebounce.
