Germany got back and now the score is 1:1. After a long siege and terrible bad luck, the German team still showed their character and scored a goal, but I think that the goal should have been earlier when Havertz did not score into an empty net.
The beginning of the match was not the most interesting, but after the Spanish goal the German team finally managed to pull itself together and show its ability to win back in the last minutes.
I think now both teams want to rest and decide everything in extra time.
Germany managed to force Spain to play longer and this certainly became more interesting. Germany's revival at the end of the second half was natural considering that Spain no longer looked balanced since Olmo scored. Germany should have made good use of several goal opportunities, but they failed and got lucky in the 89th minute.

Now extra time has started and I don't see Spain really being ready to win this match. Germany pressed very well and created lots of chances, of course this is a sign that Germany is starting to get better and is ready to win the match. Spain will certainly try to improve everything in this extra time round, but I'm sure it will be very difficult.

Spain might have more difficulty in extra halves because both Yamal, Morata, and Williams were out. Lack of best attacking players will affect their attacking system and Germany will try to attack proactively but they will do it carefully. Getting a conceded goal in extra halves is very risky and harder to equalize.

It's enough for a recap, now it's time for watching again.
Spain pulled out their 3 strikers too soon and ended up struggling a bit with their attack relying on Ferran Torres I don't think he will be able to do it alone unless some midfielders come forward to help their attack.

It's clear Germany will have the ball again in extra time if Spain score again they will defend fully, Germany will go back to attacking optimally.
But we'll see if there are any more goals or if the victory will be decided by penalties.

Can D. Olmo be the hero as he took the lead for Spain in the 50 minute?

The host Germany has around 15 minutes left to find an equalizer goal otherwise the Euro dream for the host will be all over  Sad
One more goal for the Spain and it will be all over for Germany. Since Germany is on all-attack, Spain will get chances to enhance their lead.
It's a heavy weight contest between the two teams and i am afraid for the hosts the time is ticking away quickly.
In 90 minutes, Olmo was not the hero of Germany's victory as hosts because Wirtz was the player who forced the match to continue into extra time.
In the extra time round, I think the game will be dominated by Germany. Even if there is no change in the score at 15:15, then Germany has a chance to win the penalty shootout.
Germany's hard efforts succeeded. This match was interesting in the second half.
Let's watch the extra time round.
Olmo is a Spanish player and not a German player. The first speak was saying how Olmo was able to put Spain ahead of Germany and was saying if the match ends, he would likely be the hero.

But in the other hand Wirtz said no to the retirement of Tony Kross, maybe he wants him in the finals. I am also happy that the match didn't just end. If it was possible, I will say both of them should stay. But the reality is one must leave...

Two of the strongest teams of the tournament will meet in 2 hours. I am excited to watch the Spain - Germany match, I think it will be a nice and competitive match.
My favorite in this match is Germany, I also think the team that wins this match will play in the final.

I think the Portugal - France match is certain, but Portugal can surprise.
Situation is very interesting as things are heading for the quarterfinals of the Euro 2024 with first game is one of the best game in this event as we are having host Germany after years having spot into quarterfinals and Spain which is currently one of the best team in this event with their performance as things are going mostly are feeling Spain having edge, but Germany is going strong as host nation and their performance is also much better in last few games.

I have strong feeling for the Germany to win and go through for the semifinal with good chance for the final as well, but Spain is surely going to be team to watch, and they will never go down easily in this game we can go through into extra time as well with for me Germany is winner.

Please no 0-0 score in 90 minutes... It would be really disappointing for me if it happens. Because I was expecting a couple of goals even if we saw extra time.

Both teams like to play open rather than being defensive. It would be a shame if none of them scores. Pedri picked up an injury by the way and I hope he is okay. He has a really bad injury history at Barcelona if you don't know. He is very injury-prone unfortunately together with being a talented player at the same time.  Sad  Anyways, let's see how the second half goes...

Edit: Spain have just scored! A nice assist by Yamal and such a great touch by Olmo, but not surprised as Olmo has a really good technique.  Wink

Grin Your expectations were not disappointed.
It appears that the 1-1 scoreline between these teams has been repeated for the fourth time in the last five games. This is what I call stability. I wonder what the quotes were for this outcome, probably around 6.00. The result of regular time looks logical; after the missed goal, Germany seized the initiative, and Spain sat too low in defense, for which they were punished.

I don't understand why Spain isn't celebrating by now, because this is a team with one of the best defences in the Euro's and Germany wasn't in their element either but they allowed Wirtz to get a nice goal to get a second chance of qualification to the semi's...and without the services of youngsters Nico Williams and Yamal, I see this going to penalties  Cry

Whatever the result after extra time, may the best man win!

Let's go Spain!!

Fantastic performance of Germany national teams after success comeback on crucial minutes with effective substitutes made by Julian Nagelsmann, Florian Wirtz's second-half substitution for Leroy Sané was very effective despite having to wait until the final minutes for Germany to equalize. I think Spain national team manager Luis de la Fuente made any fatal mistake by getting out Lamine Yamal after creating his assist for Dani Olmo and other replacement Nico Williams make Spain have downtrend performance with attacking line.

Few minutes the extra time have begin and excited waiting for 30 minutes left who will be the winner or any potential the first quarter final round  must finish trough penalty kick. Germany national teams keep more offensive since the early of extra additional team begin and looks they won't finish the match with penalty.

Whoever keep their composure in this match will win the match. Wirtz was able to give a life line to Germany at the dying minutes of the first half to extend the match into 30 minutes extra time. The pressure that Germany mounted on Spain was too much that made Spain unable to resist it till the 90mins.

Interesting second half as both teams was able to put in their best performance to make sure that they don't get eliminated easily. Spain made some changes that might affect their performance because Yamal and Williams and Morata are out who are good attackers. If the match ends without any team scoring, the match will end in a penalty shootout. I think Germany has a high advantage of scoring again if they can continue their attacking force.

Now, we will have several minutes to take rest before two extra halves. Meanwhile, let's review what happen in the second half.

Germany controlled ball more after Spain scored a goal with an assist from Yamal and finish by Olmo who replaced Pedri in the first half. He is nearly a hero of Spain until 88th minute when Wirtz scored an equalizer for Germany. Before that goal, Germany tried to control ball, attack and create some opportunities with two biggest chances from Füllkrug and Kai. They nearly lost the match before Kimmich which his effort to jump high and head pass the ball back to Wirtz who scored.

It's a pity that Pedri was replaced because of injury, but it so happened that it was Olmo who scored the only goal so far. 83 minutes my prediction is coming true for now, if nothing changes in this match and it ends with the score 1-0. As I expected, there were few goals, and despite the fact that the teams play quite openly, the game is tense, it is difficult to give the advantage to any of the teams. So far, the younger Spanish team is beating the more experienced German players...

A good start by Spain as they have scored an early goal by Olmo with a superb one touch finish after he received a good assist from the 16 years old player Yamal. Spain takes the lead on the 51st minutes of the match and Germany is now pressuring to equalize the goal.

If Germany is not careful and watch their back, the eagerness of equalizing the goal might cause them another goal if Spain have a counter attack. This is the first time that Spain has taken the lead against the host time in the second half. Spain is playing better and creating more chance than in the first half.
Both teams started the match quite well and were very impressive in achieving victory, so far Spain, who is 1-0 ahead of Germany, has been able to play quite well by relying on the speed of Nico William and also Lamine Yamal from both wings, fast and short pass from foot to foot able to trouble the German defense at this time, in my opinion Germany made too many mistakes and lost the ball when their players were under pressure from the Spanish players and of course their have to be able to overcome this to at least be able to equalize the score in the second half at this time, the in of Fullkrug and also Mittelstaedt started to improve Germany game at this time and was their able to trouble Spain solid defense several times.

I see that Nico Williams has so far been the motor of attack from Spain and it seems that the Germans are very frustrated at being able cant to stop Nico Williams movement, I really think Nico Williams will be one of the players who really deserves to be the best young player at euro this year, btw the Spanish game looked quite balanced both when attacking and defending, the Spanish players looked quite disciplined when their defense was attacked and they would all run to the defense to form a tight defense so it was very difficult for Germany to score goals, likewise when attacking they looked quite compact advance to midfield to help attackers players.

Spain came in with an excellent start in the second half with their substitute Olmo given them the lead just in 51mins with that fabulous shot with that constructive pass from Lamine Yamal. Olmo didn't waste a sec launching the ball behind the Germany goalie so calmly, a one touch hit.

Can Germany give a response in this game against Spain?  They had that comeback with Switzerland just when we all thought they are put of any possibilities. Looking at the situation, am just left with no choice but to ask if there's a hope still.

Spain was able to play very organized and they were not pressured at all. The goal scored at the start of the second half certainly made Spain more confident and they did not look satisfied even though they were ahead. Germany experienced a different situation, Toni Kroos and his friends appeared as if they were burdened, so there were a lot of miscommunications and lost balls that didn't need to happen. Julian Nagelsmann made several changes but until the 75th minute there were no drastic changes. The German fans looked very worried and that hope was getting slimmer.

It is indeed a very difficult game to predict, both teams are well equipped with world class players, Spain has a very young and talented squad with the likes of lamine yamal, Dani olmo, pedri, Rodri etc and on the other hand Germany has a seemingly young squad with some experienced players like Toni kroos and Ilkay Gundogan in midfield to enable the German side have a balance at the heart of the midfield in every game they have played so far, both teams play possessive football and also attack massively, hence it is expected that this match may produce lots of goals tonight when both teams meet in quarter final match tonight.
Folks, this aint just a quarterfinal, its a battle for the ages! Germany has home-field advantage, hence they will come out swinging. But Spain, their defense is like a fortress. They will cause Germany to earn every inch of that field. Soccer is amazing because of this, folks. Two strong teams with two quite different approaches of play. Germany strikes me as a bulldozer. They will run right through you. Spain, though, they approach like a matador. They will weary you, make you dance, and then strike when you least expect it. This is the kind of game that keeps me up at night. There is electric tension and expectation. Also you know what? I wouldnt miss it for the world.
So far in this fierce battle between the Germans and the Spanish for the first quarter finals of this tournament, the Spanish have held about 52% of ball possession whereas the Germans have managed to retain only 48%, thereby keeping the Spanish at bay with both sides barely producing few goal scoring chances, if the game continues in this same tempo in the second half then  we may see some extra time football and perhaps a penalty shootout but am optimistic that both teams will find the back of the net in the second half.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
Looking at the odds by bookmakers, seems that this match will be balanced as the odds show that none of both become favorite.
Spain with about 2.7x and Germany with about 2.8x, so it is hard to bet on which team to win the match if we are relying on the odds.
By statistic during this tournament is also a bit similar because both teams are unbeatable so far but Germany with 1 draw while Spain with perfect wins.
Both team to score seems to be the most attractive market to bet because it is about 1.75 so I think it is better choice than to bet on 1x2 market.

In my opinion, BTTS is too risky since one of the teams (this is enough to lose the bet) may turn out to be good/lucky in defense. 1.75 does not compensate for the risk that one of the two teams will not score a goal. By the way, the first half has already ended and the score is still 0-0, I think towards the end of the game the teams will be less and less inclined to take risks, so the probability of a draw is growing very quickly, now this outcome is rated as the most likely.
That is actually the mistake that many people make, when they see Star matches like this one they will believe that there is no how both teams will not score. With that perceptive they will not play both teams to score and in the end the match might end goaless. We know that both teams to score is possible in the match but it is too risky considering that we are already in the quarter finals of the tournament were goals seems to be scarce. Now that the first half has ended, I doubt that both teams to score result will happen. Assuming one team scored in the first half, it would have compelled the other team to reply the goal. But now that none of them has scored and it is already second half they will therefore be mindful of their own goal posts in other not to concede a goal.
The best bet to place in this match would have been any of the teams to win or draw or even half time, no matter how risky it seems to be is a good bet in this match.
