I disagree to say Ronaldo like this. He is no longer as good as he was years ago but saying he is a worse Portuguese player in this tournament, it's not true. I am not his fan, to be frank, but do you think younger players like Joao Felix played better than Ronaldo in Euro 2024 for Portugal?

With his current age and the physical condition he has, he should follow Kroos. Kroos will complete his last task with the German national team at Euro 2024. Even Kroos still performs better than Ronaldo. Kroos is also only 34 years old. But his statement was quite surprising. Maybe Ronaldo and Pepe still have a great desire to play, but they have to be aware. Their condition has greatly declined. They have to start thinking about getting a license and a bear from the sidelines to become a coach. If Ronaldo still participates in the 2026 world cup, it seems that the coach will only carry the burden for other players.

Spain vs Germany has been the most interesting and exciting game. Spain performed better than Germany, as a last-minute goal sent the team into the semi-finals. I watched the game completed and the Germany team attacked a lot, but the goalkeeper of the Spain team saved the goal brilliantly a few times. Although Germany's adequate attack was successful in the 89th minute and the game was drawn, Spain went ahead with another goal in extra time to secure victory. Spain team entered the semi-finals with a 2-1 win, Spain team's performance was excellent which made them succeed in qualifying for the semi-finals, but unfortunately they were eliminated from the Euro Cup by Germany team.

One more thing about Portugal which is related to their biggest popular player "Ronaldo", I think he is the worst Portugal player in this tournament. He could not even score a single goal in normal time, he made 1 assist only. His performance on every match is below his big name. I think he should realize that he is "too old" already for the national team to compete in big tournament like Euro. I have to say, he failed to give enough contribution to the team.

Joao Felix and Nunes wasted two opportunities to help Portugal winning this match in 120 minutes but they can not score that winning goal for their team. At the penalty spot, Joao Felix failed and his team had to go home because of his shot. Now it will be days before we know Ronaldo's decision to continue with his national team or retire. I believe he will not announce his retirement at the national team soon.

France vs Spain will be a first semi final we knew for Euro 2024 and surely it's a big match.

There are many people blaming Felix for missing this penalty, but in my opinion, there is no one to blame, they have fought optimally for their team and country, it's just that there is only 1 winner, and France is the one to continue.
Congratulations to France and Thanks so much to Portugal. My heart actually also broke when seeing especially how Pepe sad expression in the field.

Yes, in a penalty shootout anything can happen because 50% relies on luck and 50% relies on ability + experience We know that several great players in the world have experienced failures in taking penalties well, if this happened to Felix, of course it wouldn't be surprising but if the fans insult him, that is a risk as a player is expected to take.

Mentality also take a big part when we are talking about important penalty shootout. By the way, the magic of Diogo Costa is not repeated unfortunately. He could block 3 penalty kick in the previous shootout against Slovenia but today, he did not do the same thing. I dont want to blame him obviously, because there is no one should be blame in this situation. Bruno Fernandez is one of the most experienced penalty takers in the squad but unfortunately he was substituted already 15minutes before the normal time ended.
I'm not quite sure why the coach decide to replace Bruno with Felix, I did not watch the match but looking at the statistic, Bruno get a good score compared to the other players. Is he injurie? An amazing match was presented by Portugal & France, even though it looked boring, we saw that therein lies the team's struggle & hard work so that not a single goal was scored in this match in regular time or ET.

It's a shame that Portugal lost in the penalty round because one of their kickers (Joao Felix) failed to execute his part, congrats to France who are officially going to the semi-finals, it's not an easy road ahead, because they will face Spain who managed to beat the host team .
My guess was correct, this match had minimal goals and no goals until the penalty shootout because both teams' defenses were equally solid. Yes, overall this match was a little boring, but this match was intense in defending the back line so that no goals were scored.

I was also still surprised because the Portuguese coach during the penalty shootout chose Joao Felix as the penalty taker compared to other players who were more prepared because Felix had just come in, of course he wasn't really ready to take the penalty. Judging from his face, it seemed like he wasn't ready for a penalty shootout. If Bruno had not been replaced, he could have created bigger goal opportunities than Felix. In my opinion, this is purely the wrong coach tactic.

On the other hand, France's progress in reaching the semifinals is also not very impressive because so far France has never scored a goal through open play, not a single player has provided an assist, and has only scored three goals in the last five matches. I think this is very unfortunate because France has a squad with good players.

But even so, in the semifinals Spain will have difficulty winning against France because even though France lacked goals, their defense was very solid, only conceding one goal and even that through a penalty. Apart from that, in the semifinals Spain will play without Carvajal, it is possible that Jesus Navas will replace Carvajal, of course he will have difficulty guarding a player like Mbappe because he is 38 years old.

Germany has said goodbye to the cup. Germany was my favorite team for this cup but they lost 2-1 in extra time against Spain.
Spain is now waiting to see who their opponent will be.

The France-Portugal match went to penalties and France won. I thought France would win in normal time, but it didn't happen.
Let's see who will be France's opponent.
The tournament is really becoming tough, teams are finding it very difficult to defeat each other, and Spain was lucky enough to defeat Germany whom many thought were favourite for the tittle including me,but after today's game when Spain showed the world that they can hurt so many team this year,I'm begining to think Spain might end up playing France in the final of the tournament,at that stage,I won't be able to predict who will win,but I just think France can go on to win this tournament, since they are the ones that own the world and Europe now.So I think France will win at the final.

Yeah a little sad, this is the last we'll see of Ronaldo playing for Portugal in a big tournament.

I just read this news, and finally found several sources that had released news regarding the ban for Merih Demiral for his actions in showing the "Wolf Sign" during the match against Austria. This is still a matter of pros and cons.
---------------------------
It is not prohibited in Austria, but this symbol is prohibited in Türkiye. The celebration of this symbol is so closely linked to politics in Türkiye that UEFA had to punish Mehdi Demiral. Suddenly this created a polemic between fans and UEFA as the parent had to give equal punishment considering that it was a quite serious problem.
This symbol is a symbol identified with the extremist Gray Wolves, the right wing, where this group is also banned in Austria and France. It's just that it's not yet a regulatory ban in Germany. It was labeled a terrorist organization by the European Parliament in 2021. However, this was about football and UEFA acted on it.
Taken from:
Source: Turkey's Demiral banned for 'wolf' gesture

Yapp,, UEFA's decision regarding Demiral's actions has caused controversy, the Turkish side has raised objections to the sanctions given to their country's players which are considered "unfair" and there are political reasons behind it. Yes, because of this, there has been polemic upheaval between these countries. In fact, diplomatic parties from Turkey and Germany have held discussions regarding this matter.

Exactly the pressure of playing a penalty especially in a shootout likes this is just too much and that’s why the best players or the most experienced players in the team are those that usually take up this challenge. This is one of the reasons why even though people criticize both Ronaldo and Messi do their misses I don’t like it.
Yep, a penalty kick is not just a kick, ball and goal, but it is also a battle between the player's mentality and emotions. There is very high pressure, mental betting and ability for the team, witnessed by the entire team and also the spectators in the stadium, this is what creates high pressure, not to mention the various responses outside the field. Because of this, not everyone can do it optimally when that happens.

You're right - there is big pressure on penalty takers, but Felix is not the only player who has failed to convert his chances into goals this tournament. It's just - this is not the right time to fail because it will certainly affect many things.

Exactly the pressure of playing a penalty especially in a shootout likes this is just too much and that’s why the best players or the most experienced players in the team are those that usually take up this challenge. This is one of the reasons why even though people criticize both Ronaldo and Messi do their misses I don’t like it. Roberto Martinez of Portugal says that only the takers can miss and that’s what happened to Felix today. He shouldn’t be in that position to take the penalty but the coach had already taken out Bruno Fernandez who to me was the best penalty taker in that Portuguese team but as we said one person has to miss for the match to come to an end

We still have two games tomorrow, no less exciting than today, but rest assured England won't let their fans down. I'm looking forward to it - England should be able to progress to the next round with promise score.
Not just Bellingham, Foden, Kane - but I'm looking forward to Cole Palmer playing from the first half. Gareth Southgate has to do this for the sake of reasonable expectation - he can't gamble with Saka.

I think the focus of many people will be on Southgate line up tomorrow, the two major calls he needs to make is either to start Cole plamer and Kobbie Mainoo which many think is the best or go with is usually formation. Saka to me looks very much tired and not fit enough maybe due some injury recovery, Palmer is England’s most creative player at the moment why not play him as an attacking midfielder if you don’t trust him on the wing and play a double pivot of Bellingham and Rice. Any formation Southgate uses tomorrow if we loses then I think that’s the last dance for him

This is the end that Ronaldo have to burried his dream to gets Euro Cup trophy before he retired with Portugal because today dramatically Portugal lost from France through an penalty shootout and i thought after extra time ended and the match continue to penalty shootout Portugal has good chances to win this match but clearly i was wrong because Diogo Costa who performing well when Portugal eliminate Slovenia can't do anything in this match because he was failed to blocked the penalty kick from France players

On the other hand for Germany the loses from Spain is very dissapointing for their fans because as a host and favourite champion Germany was unable to further more besides that Germany has just continue the trend that since 1988 there was no host team who can able to gets the trophies from this tournament but semifinal match is quite interesting because Spain will met France and if we compared to the performance between these teams during this tournament i think Spain can be called as the favourite than France

Wow, what a match it was. The first semifinalist was Spain, who beat Germany 2-1, and the second semifinalist was France, who defeated Portugal in a penalty shootout. The Germany-Spain match was more exciting to watch than the Portugal-France match. Also Olmo’s performance in Spain was commendable.

To be sincere with you I wished for the Spain vs Germany game to never come to an end, the energy of both teams was really high to get a win. I had it in mind that the host might lost at full time but they manage to pull one back to level the game and head to extra time. The Spanish players are the best in this tournament because of the way the went about business since the beginning of the competition, now is a total of 5 games in a row without losing or a draw and from how I saw things about them I believe they're going to win it, their chances of winning is higher than any other country in the tournament. With Portugal and Germany out of the way we're left with France who might be a better opponent to get to the final.

I think it's time for Cristiano Ronaldo to bow out from the Portugal national team so other young stars of the team can also live to their full potentials. Since the 2004 European Championship finals that he first tiptoed to this great tournament, Cristiano Ronaldo been incredibly productive for his national team but from all indications, it seems he's been caught up with age and can't just deliver top quality football again. It's time for Cristiano Ronaldo to retire and focus in club football because from all indications, I don't think we're ever gonna see a better Cristiano Ronaldo than the one we've been seeing in this year's Euros Championship.
To the performance of both teams, I think they all did their best and deserved to win the game if you ask me but unfortunately for Portugal, they suffered elimination from the competition.

Although it might look unlikely, I believe he still won't step down from the national team. So far I haven't him saying anything about it, but correct me if I am wrong. I think he is so addicted to the sport and believe he will try and keep going until the World Cup 2026. He probably won't resign for as long as Messi is still playing, too. But one thing is for sure: this was hist last Euro Championship. So yes, I think he will try to make it to the World Cup and then finish his career.

Yes Joao Felix failed to take the opportunity and indeed he had great pressure to take the left corner but in the end hit the crossbar he might feel disappointed with his failure to make Portugal lose, but this is a challenge it is normal to have to take that action even if it does not become a goal.

Diogo Costa didn't manage to make a single save in the penalty.

Portugal and France match is very matured and entertaining. The struggle was real and at a point I thought a player would be seriously injured in that match cos the energy and passion to secure a win was overflowing. The likes of C. Ronaldo, J. Cancelo, N. Mendez and Camavinga all lost very good opportunities to put their countries in front.

The match ended in penalties and France emerged successful thanks to the penalty of Joao Felix which bounced off the wood work.  Congratulations France,  welcome to the next level.

Leo is resting.
At this point, Ronaldo's last trip to the EURO did not get him anything, maybe he will stay for the World Cup.

The penalty shootout is over - France qualified to the next round. Portugal had to admit defeat in the penalty shootout and Joao Felix will probably feel guilty for the missed opportunity. But it's not about who scores and who doesn't - basically all penalty takers have tried to beat the pressure and look for the right angle to score. Unfortunately - Joao Felix was the only one who didn't score.

France vs Spain - this is another exciting match to look forward to. France and Spain have both progressed to the semi-finals - while tomorrow we look forward to England vs Switzerland and Netherlands vs Turkey. The Netherlands and England are favorites for the semi-finals - I have no doubts about either one.

The thing is that one team must go home at the end of the match, which after all the efforts by Portugal to try to move in to the next stage of the competition, they were still eliminated by France during the penalty shootout. Today me, I'm not blaming João Félix for his failure to not score the penalty because anyone in his shoes at that time would still have missed it due to pressure, and if you noticed, the France goalkeeper is this kind of keeper that isn't moved by the players show of leg but rather was following the direction of the ball which we saw him do in the first and second penalty kick by Ronaldo and fellow teammate.

Just like you said at this stage of the competition, one team must step down for the other team to progress to the next stage of the competition and tonight we witnessed a great game between France and Portugal, both teams couldn't find the back of the net even after an additional time but at the end the ended up in a penalty shootout and France was lucky to advance to the next stage after winning on penalties.

Penalties is a no man game, I think the goal keeper of Portugal stopped the penalty kick of 3 Slovenia players during the knockout stage but today he couldn't make any save and his team has been eliminated after João Félix failed to convert his penalty kick to goal. No body should be blamed I believe they have accepted their fate and they hope to get better.

Germany lost 2-1 after they forced Spain to play for 120 minutes. I wasn't really surprised by the result, but Germany was really good in the second half. The pressure created by Germany in the second half meant that Spain had to work hard to secure the goal, but the goal they were after finally appeared a few minutes before the end of the second half.

Germany were basically more worthy of winning the game when they came from behind, but they had to give up and fall short at home when Mikel Merino made perfect use of an assist from Olmo. We can see that the fans and players were very disappointed in the end, while it was different for the Spanish camp. Congratulations to Spain, respect to Germany.

Well, the match we have been waiting for finally brought Spain as the winner even though it has to go through extra time. Here I won't say one of them deserved to win because basically both have the ability to win, it's just that Spain was lucky today with a goal in the 119th minute. Next, Spain will face France in the semi-finals because France managed to beat Portugal a few hours ago, well we can call this the 2nd final match because the match between these 2 great teams happened early.

In this match I don't expect much and it might end up going to extra teams or a penalty shootout because Spain and France have strong defenses, we will watch this game next week and we can see this betting market in sportsbooks Spain @2.75 vs France @2.9 who is your favorite team?

Ronaldo has a new record in this competition of playing in five games and not scoring any goal. He has done his best and needs to really give other players a chance to shine in this Portugal team. The coach would have easily taken him off to bring in other new players, but because the coach knows how much the media will make that a headline, he had to keep him on. Portugal had many opportunity to win the game, they wasted it all.
France are not Slovenia, they have more experience with penalties and playing in top competition, Portugal should not have expected Costa to save many penalty kicks like he did against Slovenia.

It looks like you should be disappointed, Portugal lost in this penalty shootout, Joao Felix failed to complete the penalty kick that was entrusted to him, if Felix had not failed in the penalty kick then it is very likely that Portugal would have escaped, after all, everyone has worked hard, France is superior and no one can deny that, they are still the favorite team to win the Euro event this time (apart from Spain)

France had there moments so do Portugal once again this two nations have shown that they can take on just anyone in world football and still come out well. The battle we wanted to witness was between Mbappe and Ronaldo and I was disappointed not to have seen that much tonight. The battle was definitely fought in the midfield which both teams did well. One thing I like about this current France coach is his dynamism to Change his tactics when needed. In their round of 16 against Belgium and the group stage matches, the French team midfield was a bit exposed and imbalance and many people pointed that Camavinga was a good bet to start their ahead of Rabiot. Today he proved that even though he was a bit shaky.

Next match is between Spain and France, this two are my favorite now to win the competition sadly one of them has to bow out In the next phase. My bet will be on France to win but right now with their inability to score an open play goal yet it will be a tough target for them against the most possessive team in the tournament
