Head still swimming from Ajax and United shocks. Football's elite are all struggling. Good for the neutral and an advertisement against cash rich clubs (not that United isn't cash rich!). But there's so much entertainment in tonight's games. Napoli- Salzburg probably the pick of the evening, the Italians are a favourite to win this but I still think Sevilla and Chelsea will make the finals.

I put a ~$3.85 (BTC 0.0001) bet on all games tonight, hoping for no draws, and 1 upset (Inter):
Eintracht Frankfurt - Inter M.
GNK Dinamo Zagreb - Benfica
Sevilla - Slavia Prague
Rennes - Arsenal
Zenit St.Petersburg - Villarreal
Chelsea - Dynamo Kiev
Napoli - RB Salzburg
Valencia - FK Krasnodar

Odds: 141.71. Betslip.

P.S. Was a bit tough to find this new thread. A bit of a bother about the old one closing. Shouldn't we have just lumped Europa with Champs as UEFA club competition?
Benfica and Arsenal down by one goal and Sevilla and Inter draw we have just 14 minutes left in these games lets see what happen with this.

Now Arsenal play with 10 players after Sokratis gets a red card
Arsenal's chances of winning are very small even if the draw is the best achievement today

I bet Napoli to win Europa League
Maybe because i like that City but Napoli was playing really good in CL

Exactly, for those who've seen them play, they were very close to two big teams, PSG and Liverpool. They could have qualified, it wouldn't have been outrageous.

[snip]

But remember now Chelsea lost the league cup, so they only have hopes in Europa, plus Arsenal as well will want the free ticket to Champions League, because 1 of them will not make top 4.
With the mentioned reason I believed Chelsea and Arsenal is put their best in the Europa competition because they wont want to disappoint their fans again. For this reason I disagree with the prediction make by other member that Napoli or Inter Milan will be the winner of the Europa cup.

I guess I would agree with you on the above, but Sevilla have shown how they are really wobbling now, even at their amazing home ground, so we all know for a long time they are putting every effort into the Europa League, as they themselves keep saying it, they want to make it their cup.

Yeah, in this round we won't see big teams facing each other,

True, there are lots of mismatches, on paper at least.
I put in bold my favorites.

Chelsea - Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Francfort - Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb - Benfica
Naples - RB Salzbourg
Valence CF - FC Krasnodar
Séville FC - Slavia Prague
Arsenal - Rennes
Zenith SP - Villarreal

If I had to pick one to win the Cup, I'd go with Napoli.
Below are the team I choose to be the winner of Round of 16 match.

Chelsea - Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Francfort - Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb - Benfica
Naples - RB Salzbourg
Valence CF - FC Krasnodar
Séville FC - Slavia Prague
Arsenal - Rennes
Zenith SP - Villarreal

Football is game and the team we dont expect might be the winner of the cup but chooses Inter Milan to be the winner of the cup.

Yeah, in this round we won't see big teams facing each other, but few pairs looks very interesting. Here is few my words about each pair. I boldedteam which will advance further in my opinion.
Chelsea v Dynamo Kyiv. Considering recent results of Chelsea, even Dynamo can be dangerous for them
Frankfurt v Inter. Inter is a bit better team, but their advantage isn't big
Dinamo Zagreb v Benfica. It shouldn't be difficult for Benfica.
Napoli v Salzburg. Very interesting pair, I expect that Napoli will advance further, but it will be tough.
Valencia v Krasnodar. Valencia are favorites, but Krasnordar already surprised us by eliminating Bayer.
Sevilla v Slavia Praha. Sevilla got probably easiest opponent, no questions there
Arsenal v Rennes. Arsenal are favorites, but they must learn from mistakes - this time they can't play so bad in first leg like they did against BATE. Rennes ius dangerous team which can score many goals as they did against Betis.
Zenit v Villarreal. For me this pair is most difficult to predict. Zenit looks solid so far, while Villarreal struggling in La Liga, but they are doing well in Europa league.

There you go :

Chelsea - Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Francfort - Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb - Benfica
Naples - RB Salzbourg
Valence CF - FC Krasnodar
Séville FC - Slavia Prague
Arsenal - Rennes
Zenith SP - Villarreal

Great draw, this will mean it will get a lot tougher after this round because no big teams are facing each other yet, Perhaps, we could see one or two upset where underdogs will advance to next phase at the expense of big teams. The match I'll look forward to mostly would be Napoli vs RB Salzburg.

My prediction on teams to qualify to the next round
Chelsea
Eintracht Francfort
Benfica
Naples
Valence CF
Séville FC
Arsenal
Zenith SP

Man it was a tough draw with GS-Benfica. I was hoping Galatasaray would get this one, I know it was difficult to reach 2-0 for them but I was betting on 1-0 at least or even a 2-1 would have been nice. They got that new striker Dgiane or something with a ton of goals in the league and was hoping that would change a lot of things, they were doing much better than the last time.

Anyone who watched the game knows they had a lot of good attacks and they were passing around really well keeping the ball at their feet and not turn it over too many times or at least make mistakes at their own part of the field (which Turkish teams known to do) however that one goal didn't come in time.

The offside given at late in the game was actually not even an offside, the only player that was ahead of the Benfica players was not in the possession and header and scorer were both were onside but they still didn't give the goal. That could have been a decent profit for me if they gave that.

Oh man, you were so close. It was a good bet and i think it was worth it in gambling on it. However, Arsenal didn't disappoint us and show that they can win the title this year playing good football that it is fun to watch.
Chelsea played well too and they hadn't any problem to win Malmo. I look forward to the next fixture where more exciting games will come.
Yeah it was close but never mind. I could have use over 2.5 but I got a bit greedy. Both Arsenal and Chelsea played well last night. In fact there were no surprise win last night. Most of them were predicted.

Arsenal and Chelsea success qualify and continue to the next round. Almost all home team qualify to the next round too on Europa league match today. On the other hand, Betis lose vs Rennes, i'm surprised though. By looking the odds Betis have a good chance to win and play betis home too, but nope, they lost.

Hey last nights victory was an important one for Sarri as he had to save his job as Chelsea’s head coach, currently he’s on borrowed time and had he lost this one he would have been sacked. I’m sure no one will be surprised by the performance of Hudson-Odoi, he had a point to prove to Sarri and he did it with his performance. Arsenal played very well to claim victory too, they have been scrappy this season but last night they showed top form.

I just hope Arsenal score another one LOL or my over 3.5 is gone 😋
Bad day for me LOL
I thought the Arsenal vs Bate will have over 3.5 but it ended to exactly 3 goals 🤥
Anyway it was a good match for them.

I am off to watch Chelsea vs Malmo. 0 - 2 for Chelsea 😋

Yeah, I took quite a hit on that fixture, I guess playing does not guarantee anything anymore, but overall Rennes did deserve to qualify from the tie even though the blew the 2 goals lead twice in the first leg.

I think we might see some big teams get paired, I'm open to an Arsenal vs Napoli, or Chelsea vs Inter.

The parlay that last week offered of aboit 30/1 for Sevilla, Villareal and Valencia to win must have made the bookies downgrade their opponents because none of above teams enjoyed the same underdog odds last night. Too bad for me Villareal and Betis were part of my parlay.

No shocks for most of the favourites, I'd love for Napoli to meet Arsenal! Time for outrights, anyone backing Napoli?
