Even though Sevilla have been in poor condition this season they managed to get to the quarter finals they shouldn't be seen as the underdog against Manchester United not even in a competition they have good experience and winning history against Manchester United. It is left for Manchester United to break the record Sevilla has against them by beating them or suffer another defeat in the hands of Sevilla who will be putting their best to prove their critics wrong and with Manchester United doing very well under Ten hag, they stand a better chance of winning and going to the next round but in all, Sevilla is a strong opposition for the United team.
I have said many times that Sevilla is a worthy opponent for Manchester United in the Europa League despite their unsatisfactory form in La Liga. No team should be underestimated when they have reached the quarter-finals, that includes Sevilla.
Maybe I agree with some of the opinions and analysis when Sevilla was not named as the favorite team to go to the semi-finals, it can almost be justified considering the team's performance so far. But then again, when Manchester United underestimate Sevilla, then I think they have to be ready to lose.
Sevilla have also released the list of players who will be leaving for Old Trafford after their last training session. Based on that list, I think the quality of Sevilla's players is also not bad to make the first leg match interesting.
Seville Squad Release to Face Manchester UnitedThe squad is as follows: Bono, Dmitrovic, Alberto Flores, Jesús Navas, Montiel, Badé, Marcao, Nianzou, Rekik, Acuña, Alex Telles, Gudelj, Fernando, Óliver Torres, Rakitic, Ocampos, Lamela, Papu Gómez, Bryan Gil, Suso, Rafa Mir and En-Nesyri.
With the current situation of the Spanish and English clubs, Manchester United seems in a better form to progress to the next level of the Europa League and I wouldn't be surprised if Manchester United will win Sevilla home and away because they can do so.
The only disturbing idea is that Sevilla always out performs English teams including Liverpool and Manchester United when it comes to Europa League. I don't know if they will capitalize on that and surprise Manchester United.
