Roma, who previously lost in the first leg, were finally able to turn things around on aggregate with a 2-0 win over opponents Salzburg at the Olimpico stadium. In fact, I even thought that there would be difficulties in this match, considering that on average they always score 1 goal in every game. But indeed Roma's mentality as one of Europe's big clubs is not in doubt and this result has made Mourinho's squad even more excited to win in the next game.
Roma might find it difficult in the next match because they will be against Real Sociedad, the Spanish team will be a tough opponent for Roma than the previous match vs RB Salzburg. But in the first leg Roma have the advantage, they should be able to win with a lot of goals at home, in preparation for the second leg.

yes Di Maria made a truly noteworthy performance! the best since he has been at Juventus, his current form is amazing, even during the world cup you could see he was in good shape and he is still continuing! now Juventus will have to contend with Freiburg and in my opinion it's a game quite within Juventus' reach. can't make a mistake and lose access to the quarterfinals
He had so much potential when he was playing at Manchester United and he is now 35 years old. This is probably his last season I do not know how long his contract is but he still has good skills but his stamina lets him down. I look at his career as a waste because he has played for some of the best teams in the world but his form has never been consistent but you see a little of what he is capable of every so often like recently. When he is at the top of his game I am confident to say he is one of the best players in the world but he goes from being one of the best to below average in a couple of months because of consistency.
Juventus brought in Di Maria to help them achieve their best game, and Di Maria has so far made a contribution to this team. Regardless of his age which is no longer young, the experience he has will have a good impact on the team he strengthens. Usually the more mature a player is, he can help his team to read the opponent's game, so he knows what he has to do.

Arsenal and Manchester United will definitely progress to the next round of the competition. I don’t see Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon causing them much trouble. They’re currently in form and can beat any opponent that comes their way in Europe at the moment.
I don't think so. Lisbon and betis can't be underrated. Both were performing so well in the local competition. Betis is also performing so good in la liga. Arsenal and manchester united may able to beat those clubs easily but sometime you will not know what kind of surprise that will come. Arsenal and MU will become most favorite teams in the last 16. Union berlin is facing a weak team. Juventus must have faced with freiburg as a strong club in bundes liga. The draw is not so good. I hoped that there will be another big match like MU against barcelona again but it's not happening/  Cheesy
Definitely you can’t underrate their respective opponents but it’s obvious that both Manchester United and Arsenal have the upper hand in these ties. They’re the firing all cylinders this season and it’s evident that Ten Hag and Mikel Arteta want to win this Europa league competition. No doubt Lisbon and Betis are also in form but they’re no match for Arsenal and Manchester United at the moment.

Di Maria's first goal is really fabulous! even coach Allegri was amazed by how he cheered... and you are absolutely right, Nantes could have had a small chance of being able to play for the next round but after the expulsion the situation degenerated for them, it ended 3-0 but it could have been a much greater achievement! Juventus attacked a lot and even hit a post
Di Maria is 35 years old and scores 3 goals, so you can talk about something very special. Juventus starting line-up was defensive with only one player as a striker. Moise Kean must have felt alone until he was substituted in the 64th minute. Vlahovic prepared the 3-0, it was a good substituted by Allegri. Nantes got a red card in minute 18, the game was decided then. It's good that Juventus still in the Europa League, Thea playing against Freiburg in the next round.

This is the Europa League last-16 draw in full.

Union Berlin v Union Saint-Gilloise

Sevilla v Fenerbahce

Juventus v Freiburg

Bayer Leverkusen v Ferencvaros

Sporting Lisbon v Arsenal

Manchester United v Real Betis

Roma v Real Sociedad

Shakhtar Donetsk v Feyenoord

Arsenal and Manchester United will definitely progress to the next round of the competition. I don’t see Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon causing them much trouble. They’re currently in form and can beat any opponent that comes their way in Europe at the moment.
The two clubs from England are among the clubs in the world that are in the hottest form which means they have every liklihood to progress to the next stage. Betis cannot stop Manchester United and also Lisbon cannot stop Arsenal. Then Sevilla of Spain will.do well because they have Europa experience.
As it is, Arsenal and Manchester United are the strongest teams in the current Europa League setup. Both teams with the way they are playing this season are not Europa League teams but a mistake of last season. I know 100% both teams will be playing in the UCL next season regardless of their Europa league journey.

I think both teams are teams that should play in the UCL right now instead of the Europa League.  Manchester United drew a difficult draw again and matched with the other Spanish team Real Betis.  I want to watch 2 matches as exciting as the Barcelona match.  I hope we will follow these two matches with the same enthusiasm and witness excellent qualifying matches.

But indeed Roma's mentality as one of Europe's big clubs is not in doubt and this result has made Mourinho's squad even more excited to win in the next game.
In general, the first matches were very strange, including the first meeting of Roma with Salzburg. Virtually no goals, except for the match Fiorentina Braga, where the Philips scored 4 goals at once and generally killed the intrigue.
The rest of the matches were very suspicious, especially the match of Roma, they seemed to not want to play or rather wanted to lose on purpose, but with a small score, so that in the return game, they easily enough beat Salzburg.

Although perhaps it's the specificity of all Italian teams, which can give a completely unexpected result, as Juventus did yesterday. Juventus also essentially destroyed Nantes in one half yesterday, with Juventus somehow pulling out a draw in the first game.
Sometimes things like this sometimes make us confused about the results of matches that should be easy for the big teams to pass, but in fact they actually have another strategy to win the match in the next match and either Roma or Juventus are both really unexpectedly able to win easily in the second leg and this can be a good capital for both of them in the next round of the European league.

Manchester United made me proud yesterday, I am not a Manchester United fan but I appreciate the play, as they also represent the English clubs. Big disappointment for Barcelona being eliminated for the second time in European competitions this season. Kudos to Manchester United for showing skill and determination against the giants of spanish football and sealing their qualification to the next rounds.
We have to admit that Ten Hague outplayed Xavi almost completely. Manchester was collected, motivated, played to the best of their abilities, which cannot be said about Barça. Barcelona players were as if "jammed" inside, they made mistakes in their passes, which was not noticed before, they made unaccustomed number of mistakes. In general, we can say the coaching victory of Ten Hag, who was able to form a working team of star players, where everyone plays the way he is required to, without tantrums and whimsy.
Xavi was not lucky with the composition, because the game was not the optimal squad, but chances to win anyway, even after the return goal Manchester, but unfortunately Xavi was unable to strengthen the team game substitutes and as a result, a logical defeat.

Of course they are in the best game at the moment. Their mentality is on the rise, so naturally they are favorites. But you have to remember Europe is very different, there are always many surprises. Real Betis may look set to be easy opponents. But they have an incredible spirit. Sporting are the same, they cannot be underestimated. I think Juventus, Union Berlin and Roma are also good. But they are slightly below Arsenal and Man United.
There are surprisingly too many good teams at the Europa League this season. We have already seen some great games so far. I like Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin too, even though they are more modest teams compare to the big teams. As in the first match, Leverkusen was very effective in this match. In terms of the game, they again dominated Monaco, they reduced the tempo a lot in certain parts, but in terms of game control and desire, they had a clear advantage as in the first match and watched good football. Union Berlin is already very good as a team this year, they put it on top of it. They have extremely modest squads, they are fighting against Bayern and Dortmund in the league, eliminating Ajax here. They really prove that not everything is to get star players. Let's see how far they go.

What an impressive performance from man united yesterday and even in the first game, barcelona team has improved greatly compared to the season begining but man united improved much more in my opinion they are one of the favourites along side arsenal but there are some teams to keep an eye for like juventus and union berlin they could make it far if not win the title.

There isn't much to add and Manchester United did indeed play a ver smart and effective game. Barcelona had more ball possession and even more passing accuracy, but Manchester United has gained a confidence over the last couple of months that they know they don't need the ball all the time but can still hurt the opponent. They did that yesterday to the best of their abilities.

Union Berlin did a nice job when they counted the goal they conceded right after half-time, and afterwards they played it as if they are an experienced Europe team. A very interesting squad with no superstars and who knows how far they can make it.

Hm let's see if you are right! Wink
And in the end it didn't happen, as Wout Weghorst was pulled out by Erik Ten Hak in the second half  Grin

Now this situation where Barcelona took the lead is exactly what they were hoping for because now their strong defense comes into play and can really enfold its effect. One advantage for Manchester United is that Barcelona lacks a couple of players with speed tonight and despite their lead they can't really play high speed counter attacks. But still Manchester now must find away to get through their defense. Lewandowski is dangerous, but he has a hard time scoring when there are no fast wingers available. I am not saying that Raphinha is slow, but Dembele and Pedri are a bit better I would say.
I watched this match in full, from my perspective and assessment the penalty given by the referee was a bit controversy, because there was no direct physical contact between Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Balde. Barcelona managed to put pressure on Manchester United and as far as 45 minutes of the first half Barcelona really put up a fight that was quite difficult for Erik Ten Hak's men, so that Manchester United found it difficult to get out of the pressure and did not develop much.

In the second half Erik Ten Hak tried to put more pressure on Barcelona, with the introduction of Antony and Garnacho making Manchester United's game better and many chances created throughout the second half, while the introduction of Dalot made Manchester United's defense more stable, because Wan -Bissaka lost in running and was unable to intercept Barcelona players.

I don't know what to say in the United vs Barcelona match, something made me not understand what Xavi applied in this second leg. At first I thought Xavi would play Ferran Torres or maybe Ansu Fati. but in fact, Xavi did something surprising by rotating Serigio Roberto into a winger. this makes me a little funny, i really don't understand it. but, overall this match is interesting. Barcelona didn't play badly in this match, unfortunately Jules Kounde again performed badly by making several blunders.

Meanwhile, United played very well, especially when they counterattacked. the strategy that Ten hag implemented, was successful in stopping Barcelona. so, United has the right to go to the next round phase. and yes, we agree that The Red Devils are one of the strongest challengers in this competition apart from The Gunners. for Juventus and Union Berlin, I still doubt their performance in this competition.

Union Saint-Gilloise and Union Berlin both of teams has been met in the group stage and at that time they were can able to defeated each other so this is interesting to know which teams will be qualified and i have to says this match probably will be hard to predicted because i didn't know how strong is Union Saint-Gilloise

Manchester United has interesting records for this season that since group stage they were always be met Spanish teams that on group stage Manchester United has been met Real Sociedad and play off matches against Barcelona and for round of 16 Real Betis will be their next opponents and so far Manchester United has been able to overcomes all of those teams although in Laliga Sociedad and Barcelona is strong teams and apparently beat Betis too isn't big problem for them

Well now that you mentioned it, I went to check out Union Saint-Gillose. Somehow I figured that Belgium league is not as strong as Bundesliga, so I thought that Union Berlin should be a better team. By the stats of their last two games in the group stage, it looks like Union Berlin played better but somehow managed to lose one game.

Their opponents are not too tough, you can say that because Arsenal and Manchester United are in a positive trend in every match, my assumption is that they are also likely to qualify for the next round and will continue in this competition.

I watched the match between Manchester United vs Barcelona even though they were 1 goal behind at first but that was proof of a comeback where they were able to come back with a pretty good attack and the defense was also effective Varane did a good thing in that match and he made a lot of saves for his team.
Erik Ten Hag made some pretty good changes they continued to dominate in what was a great game.

I didn't know they had already made the draw, I thought they were waiting to finish the round of 16 of the Champions League, in any case I also think that both Arsenal and Manchester United have a double challenge on simple paper, very tough instead it was Roma's turn against Real Sociedad who this year looks just like an inform team
