It was a really close matchup yeah. Leverkusen weren't this strong in the previous season and not much time passed since Xabi Alonso came as well. Roma still managed to eliminate them by only a score like 1-0 though. That was definitely Mourinho affect.  Tongue  He likes to focus on securing a score advantage to the end even if it is 1-0.

This time Roma and Leverkusen both are stronger but we must admit that Leverkusen are at just another level.  Smiley  I don't think De Rossi will be able to stop this powerful Leverkusen. But the first leg is in Rome so maybe a draw would be seen. Or even a win by one goal?  Grin  I'm curious about whether Roma will be the first team to make Leverkusen feel the emotions of getting a loss.
I inclined that the first leg match will end in a draw, and in the second round Leverkusen will beat Roma. As we know, Xabi fleet this season is one level above the other contestants including Roma, and I don't think Roma will be able to break Leverkusen unbeaten record. It's true that Roma have improved since De Rossi appointment, but Leverkusen is not a balanced opponent for them this season.
snip
Leverkusen luck looks like it will continue until they win the Europa League trophy, no team has been able to beat them so far, their last match against Dortmund being a very clear example. Xabi fleet is now a frightening team for anyone, that is not an exaggeration at all because Leverkusen have gone through 45 matches without losing.

I believe the same thing. Even though it looks like Roma is improving a lot, I do not think they are going to be able to beat this season's Leverkusen. This season is just on another level. They have been unbeatable so far. I do not think the performance is going to be any different this season from them. Of course, I am not underestimating Roma. They are definitely a good team and capable of winning. But again, they are going up against the Leverkusen of this season. If Roma wins this and goes to the final, I think they have a very good chance to win the final. They will have a better chance to win the final instead of winning the semi-finals. And that's how good Leverkusen has been in this season.

I know a few day/weeks back when Bayern Leverkusen cant beat in a easy way the qarabag team they are not gonna be the winners of this tournament, but well that aged like shit after we see Liverpool going out of the tournament, and plus we are seeing Leverkusen with a ton of luck on their side, man they always score a draw or a winner in the last minutes of the games, like yesterday against Dortmund.

Check out Bayer's games with Karabakh in the group stage, things are not always easy, but the most important thing is the final result and Bayer's is perfect.
As for luck, it has nothing to do with Bayer’s results at all - they play until the end and it is not surprising that in the last minutes they achieve a result in their favor. I think that many teams, after winning the tournament, would not have spent their energy like Bayer yesterday (against an overly motivated Borussia) and would not have been able to save the game in the last minute. Therefore, Bayer’s results are entirely their merit.

Previously, these two teams met in the Europa League semifinal match last season. Leverkusen failed and Roma advanced to the final round, but the difference is that AS Roma is now being handled by another coach, not Jose Mourinho. yeah, as I said in the previous post.

Last season AS Roma beat Leverkusen in the semifinals, but this season will be a different story for them because Leverkusen themselves are a very scary team in almost all competitions. Last season they were still with Jose Mounrinho and managed to beat Leverkusen, now they are under the direction of De Rossi and actually their game has also developed. But the problem is that Leverkusen is very strong this season so it won't be easy for them to repeat their success last season.
Leverkusen also now only needs to focus on the Europa League, because in the Bundesliga they have locked in the title, and player rotation has also slowly begun to be carried out to maintain the fitness of their main players. However, it is not that easy to predict this match, because both of them still have the potential to win and advance to the final round of the Europa League. It's just that Leverkusen is more superior in this case.

Struggling to beat Qarabag in the round of sixteen of the English Premier League doesn't in any way suggest that Bayer Leverkusen were a weak team then if you ask me. Bayer Leverkusen have been one of the most outstanding teams in the whole of Europe since the start of the season but sometimes, you have to accept the fact that some teams will definitely want to put in their best to stop a high flying team and that's what i think happened in Leverkusen's round of 16 tie against Qarabag.
Bayer Leverkusen are simply the most consistent team in the competition are very likely to win the Europa League trophy this season since their supposed greatest rivals in the competition Liverpool are already eliminated from the competition. In the last 45 games of Leverkusen, they're yet to lose a single game

What kind of positive result you are looking for? Roma is still in the transition process after it was recruiting a new coach and sack the old coach who managed the club. Roma potentially to be a champion even i was favoring roma over atalanta which is being the best pick according to the latest outright winners published by some platforms.

I don't get your point.  Huh
In my own view, AS Roma has got a positive result so far.

I think this can give an answer for you guys,

I mean positive results as Leverkusen did is Unbeaten records. of course Roma show improvement after De Rossi become coach, but still the confidence of players is better on Leverkusen side. I didn't say Roma is underperform l, just Leverkusen is amazing at the moment. If Roma win the match, 2nd leg will be more interesting, right?

I don't get your point.  Huh
In my own view, AS Roma has got a positive result so far. There is some improvement after AS Roma is managed by De Rossi. It is great that AS Roma can reach the semi-final round in Europa league and they are in the 5th place in Serie A.

Sure, Leverkusen is on the other level. Be an unbeaten team in 45 matches break the record in football history. This will be difficult to break by other teams in the future.

Counter attacks will be very dangerous if Leverkusen attack too often without paying attention to their own defense.
As far as I know, Leverkusen is one of the teams that has a good defense. And with the tactic Xabi applied on Leverkusen, it is not easy to use a counter-attack strategy. AS Roma must try to dominate the match if they want to have a chance of scoring goals. If they use a counter-attack tactic, I doubt that they will get difficulty in scoring goals.

Xabi have unbeaten record in the Bundesliga and become his best record during his time as a coach, of course he doesn't want to waste this when facing AS Roma. Even though Roma are not favorites, but as a Serie A fan, especially AC Milan, I currently hope that AS Roma can become champions.
It is a brilliant achievement, specifically as a young coach like Xabi Alonso. He must try to keep the record until the end of all competition. He also must expect to win the trophy of Europa league to complete his achievement this season. So, Leverkusen must be careful to play against AS Roma. I still support Leverkusen to win because I think Leverkusen is better than AS Roma.

De Rossi success in improving the team performance is indeed worthy of appreciation, he managed to prove himself worthy of being Mourinho successor, especially after De Rossi succeeded in bringing their fleet to get rid of Milan and advance to the semifinals. It must be admitted that Roma cannot be underestimated, because after all they were finalists last season, but unfortunately the chances of Roma beating Leverkusen are quite low.

Roma did not have positive results like Leverkusen, but Xabi must prepare his team to face a Serie A team that tends to defend. Previously, these two teams met in the Europa League semifinal match last season. Leverkusen failed and Roma advanced to the final round, but the difference is that AS Roma is now being handled by another coach, not Jose Mourinho. yeah, as I said in the previous post. At this season's meeting, I can confirm that Roma will not play Jose Mourinho's style. Moreover, De Rossi always uses an offensive system pattern. So, I'm not sure if Roma will play defensively. unless the Roma coach allows Leverkusen to dominate the game. I mean, if so De Rossi will rely on counter-attack tactics. The point is, waiting for Leverkusen's gaps and weaknesses.

On the other hand, Xabi knows how AS Roma is because these two teams have met before. I'm sure he won't underestimate AS Roma, especially as Roma has a chance to overthrow their opponents even though they're not as high as Bayer Leverkusen. Moreover, the match in the first leg was held at the Stadio Olimpico. so, even though Leverkusen seems much stronger and dominates. That doesn't mean they were able to beat Rome easily. We have seen Roma's performance, they didn't even allow AC Milan to progress to the next round. To find out how this match will turn out, we are waiting for these two teams to meet in the European League semifinals.

At the moment Leverkusen will only focus on the DFB cup final and Europa League although the bundesliga will not be forgotten but they realize that there are no more targets other than maintaining their unbeaten record which makes their task for the remaining matches in the bundesliga easier because even if in the remaining matches they get a draw it is not a problem for Leverkusen at this time.

Their main focus should not be lost because the DFB and Europa League are the targets they must get because their chance for the treble is very large for now so it would be a shame if they are too serious in the Bundesliga making losses because the players are too forsired which in the end they let go of the remaining 2 competitions now in the midst of their still very large probability of getting the trophy.
Because they have confirmed that they will win the Bundesliga title, of course Leverkusen will only focus fully on the match in the Europa League. In the DFB Pokal cup, the Leverkusen team is already in the final and they are likely to become champions because their opponents in the final are not of comparable quality to them.

Now that Leverkusen is very close to the treble this season, the Leverkusen team only needs to focus on the Europa League because becoming champions in the Europa League is not easy, even though since the start of the season Leverkusen has been very favored, but now we can see tough opponents who will hinder Leverkusen.
So far I think Roma's improved performance under De Rossi's coaching is quite threatening for Leverkusen, although personally I will still favor Leverkusen, but I have to admit that Roma is the toughest opponent.

Leverkusen will continue to dominate till the season ends. Bayer Leverkusen cam finish this season unbeaten because they've successfully trapped the big winnings and escape loses in countless injury times. Xabi Alonso is regarded for be the best manager in the Bundesliga this season and it have been one of the tremendous moment for the club this season. Up next is the Europa League match, not even a fierce opponent for them because any club they comes across, they ensure they entrapped them with incredible qualities and win them as elite teams.
Yesterday when Bayer Leverkusen played at home to Dortmund, I thought Leverkusen would lose there, but in the end one of the players from Leverkusen was able to make it equal so that the result of the match was a draw in the final minutes of the match. Indeed, Leverkusen's performance was quite extraordinary because they were able to take advantage of every moment not to lose to the opponents they faced so far and that is a record that is very rare for other teams.

This means that Roma will not take the match lightly with Leverkusen, and they will love to break their unbeaten record to make record for themselves, which will make De Rossi to prepare his men for such task. On the other hand, Leverkusen have being performing extra ordinary this season, and matches that you think that they have lost, they will find a means to draw it, which has made them unbeaten this season.

Xabi Alonso will want to maintain his unbeaten record and he knows what to tell his men that always motivates them in order not to accept defeat and fight for a draw instead. Respect, record making, and qualifying to the finals are what is at stake here for both clubs. It is going to be a big fight on that day.
There is no reason for Roma to underestimate Leverkusen in the semi-finals later, if they do it will be difficult for Roma to beat Leverkusen who have so far continued to maintain their unbeaten record, although now Roma have managed to reach the semi-finals by defeating a strong team AC Milan, but that does not mean they can underestimate Leverkusen who have been favorites to win the Europa League,  De Rossi has managed to lift Roma's form so well and even I think he almost achieved Mourinho's feat that could have taken Roma to the final last season, but breaking Leverkusen's record is certainly not an easy thing because even teams at Bayern Munich's level failed to do so.

Roma should not underestimate Leverkusen, because so far they are the favorite team to win the Europa League, besides that the mentality and performance they have now surprised many people so I think De Rossi knows who they will face in the game, so that way De Rossi will prepare his squad quite well in addition to hoping luck can beat Leverkusen.

Leverkusen with Xabi Alonso is indeed a very scary team. They might even end the season in the Bundesliga without losing. but in the Europa League things are different. But if Leverkusen manages to win the European League title then that will be their most impressive achievement.
Leverkusen seemed to reject the defeat that came to them, in the Bundesliga when they faced Borussia Dortmund they were already on the verge of defeat, but they showed a very surprising surprise by scoring a goal in the final minutes before the game ended in the second half.
I think they have a big chance to do the same thing as they did in the Bundesliga. They will face As Roma in the semifinals, AS Roma is having a good atmosphere with De Rossi so it will be a challenge in itself for Leverkusen. AS Roma also just beat AC Milan in the quarter-finals which many people previously doubted. I think this will be a very interesting match, because they are both targeting high achievements in the European League. However, the burden is on As Roma, because they are still competing in Serie A, while Leverkusen no longer has a burden in domestic competitions.
This season came with so many surprises and I am not worried about it, because that is football for you. I never expected Roma to win Milan easily, and that shows that Roma is improving in their performance everyday. De Rossi is a coach that nobody expected these good results from him, but ever since he took over from Mourinho, he has transformed the club.

Leverkusen's next match will be against Stuttgart who are in 3rd place in the standings. This match actually has no effect on them, because even if they lose they have already locked up the title this season. However, there is one thing they will be pursuing, namely that they will maintain their unbeaten record in 30 matches in the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga only has 4 more matches left, and those 4 matches will determine whether they will create an unbeaten record for one season, or whether that record will be broken by one of the remaining matches.

On paper they are the favourites, there is no doubt about that. However, whether Xabi will rotate players on a large scale in this match or not, considering that there are no more burdens in the Bundesliga. If they rotate on a large scale then it will open up opportunities for Stuttgart to beat Xabi Alonso's team, as well as breaking their unbeaten record. they've recorded so far.

Leverkusen after being coached by Xabi has indeed developed very rapidly. Even their playing patterns and style of making attacks are sometimes always quite beautiful. What is clear is that Leverkusen seems to have high self-confidence after being coached by Xabi Alonso. But Rome is the same. Roma became extraordinary after they had a new coach, namely Daniele De Rossi. And the good news is that Daniele De Rossi has even received a longer contract at AS Roma. Which indicates that the club owner now trusts De Rossi to continue coaching Roma even next season. And I think Roma's progress is very similar to Leverkusen's progress last season. So I think that Roma will even be one of the strong challengers next season in the Italian League. Even though I don't really like the Italian League, sometimes I watch their matches because I bet on them. And I hope no one underestimates AS Roma when facing Leverkusen.
Xabi has become the paragon of transformation for the Leverkusen team this season and ofcourse he's performance is such that we can't even under estimate at any point because he has proven that he's capable of the kind of transformation the team have ever needed since their inception and it's actually very pronounced in the fact that he kept such a record across all the leagues in which He's participated this season.

Leverkusens form last season shouldn't be a yardstick to judge them against Roma because this season they are appearing like whole new team all together both in their abilities and their form they are very much far away from what they used to be so they aren't such that can even be compared as they are very improved than before, i know Roma too hasn't been in a poor form recently as they have been able to really put up good challenge against teams that are considered average but then they aren't looking really tough enough to be seen as a contender to Leverkusen not in this present form Leverkusen has got.

Leverkusen will be able to win Roma comfortably altho it wouldn't be an easy game but at the same time it's really not going to be such that we would say they are too weak because even Roma have not been able to do so well against top teams they have been fairly within average when they get to meet top teams who's got relatively better strength than they do and Leverkusen appear to be like such a team .

Leverkusen and Liverpool were the favorites in the Europa League this season and it was often discussed that these two teams would play in the final or that either of these two teams would play in the final. l leverkusen had some chances but Liverpool's chances were all but over as they were beaten by a wide margin in the first leg and won by just one goal in the second leg. I said in the second leg of course Liverpool will try to play attack but their opponent team will play defense and they did that which is why the result was only 1-0. Leverkusen's opponents are another Premier League side who have little chance of progressing to the next round as they have already drawn the first leg. As leverkusen are always attacking, they will win the second leg either way and their win will take them to the semi-finals and a loss to the opposition will disqualify the only surviving team from the English Premier League.

Roma did not have positive results like Leverkusen, but Xabi must prepare his team to face a Serie A team that tends to defend. Counter attacks will be very dangerous if Leverkusen attack too often without paying attention to their own defense. Roma is also superior compared to the atalanta in serie a too. Milan out caused by it lacks of competence to play consistently even it's also struggling at the serie a although roma was still at the 2nd place. Im sure that roma can become a good candidate from serie a to win europa league soon.
Leverkusen is gonna meet atalanta and im hoping the final will be roma vs leverkusen. This will be coming true consider the fact roma is even stronger compared to the marseille at this time. Im not even doubting the competence of roma to paid off the disappointed result given by the club when it lost against sevilla last season.

No one doubts Leverkusen's performance this season, what they have shown is truly extraordinary. The Leverkusen team is unbeaten this season in all competitions and their success in securing the Bundesliga title at the start of this season is beneficial for Xabi Alonso's team to be able to focus more on the Europa League.

And for the Roma team which has experienced significant improvement after being coached by De Rossi, it cannot be underestimated, initially Roma was not taken into account but now they are a strong challenger to win the Europa League title this season and I see this as a natural thing because The Roma team's performance is quite impressive now.

However, if you compare Leverkusen and Roma, I think it's a little different, Leverkusen has a much better mentality and consistency than Roma, even though the quality of these two teams doesn't have much difference.

Xabi Alonso will certainly instruct all his players not to underestimate Roma, the Serie A representatives have now developed for the better since being taken over by De Rossi, besides that Roma were finalists last season. Xabi Alonso understanding of the situation and competition they will face in each match is truly genius, so from his hands Leverkusen has been able to remain unbeaten to date. This record is proof that they take all matches seriously, especially after successfully securing the Bundesliga trophy, now Xabi Alonso and his squad are increasingly ambitious to win the Europa League trophy.

Leverkusen are favorites in the match against Roma, because they are superior in many aspects to Roma, which is why I think Leverkusen will be able to advance to the Final. We already know what Leverkusen reputation is this season, and on paper betting on them winning would be pretty safe. These predictions could change and surprises could occur, and Leverkusen certainly won't underestimate Roma.
