Today's game against West Ham was a draw with Jeremie Frimpong scoring a goal for Bayer Leverkusen and Antonio scoring for West Ham however, Bayer had already cut their prize off the cake with the 3 over 1 aggregate at the end of this second leg pushing Leverkusen higher up the league. One must learn to truly appreciate the efforts of Xabi Alonso over his sportsmanship and coordination of the team players. The guys at Leverkusen have got 4 clean sheets With average of 0.4 per match, zero Red cards , 14 yellow cards but 27 goals with the average of 2.7 goals measured per match
I think someone in Leverkusen will make a statue to Xabi Alonso, he took a team that had little motivation and turned it into an unbeatable battleship. I don't know how he did it but by many accounts he did something extraordinary without having overpaid top players in the team, almost reminiscent though vaguely of Leicester's extraordinary victory a few years ago
The draw against West Ham in leg 2 was quite complicated and even so in leg 1 it was a very good victory that made Bayern Leverkusen qualify for the final, and now will face As Roma which I think is very strong too, so if Bayern Leverkusen get a full victory to reach the final and get a victory maybe a historical monument will be built in Leverkusen for Xabi Alonso.
