The goals scored by both teams only ended with a score of 3-2 which was won by host Rennes, even though this match was won by the hosts. However, AC Milan was the one who qualified for the next round because they won 3-5 on aggregate.
I am quite satisfied with this match and the hosts Rennes also played very well, especially the supporters who continue to provide encouragement for their idols.
It's normal for AC Milan to not put too much interest in the game as we know they've won it in the first leg. What Rennes are trying to do now is just a last attempt at salvaging something that's already lost. They weren't as competitive as they are in their league and I'm wondering if they don't really take this competition seriously or is it that they aren't really prepared?
The game even though it ended in Rennes favor, we know AC Milan were the better side in the match, even their stats prove it that the hosts were not match for them.

Who else is watching bragai think they picked form this second halve after the first goal from Fernández they seem to gain some spirit in the match, qarabag tried to put up an intending match during the first halve, I almost thought it would be a draw match since they had played to almost 80 minutes before their first the goal from Fernández was really a nice one the shot was well placed at the corner of the post. I think the match would end at this current score line of 0:2 as its already extra time.

Milan is the favorite in the match-up, even a 2-0 loss could be enough for them in this away game. I don't think they will take too many risks, their priority will be to play a controlled game without conceding goals today. After a very bad start in their league, Rennes surprised everyone with 6 wins in a row and suddenly they are back on higher places. Against such an in-form team Milan will naturally be more defensive. They wouldn't blow a 3-0 lead.

As for Benfica, I think they will be more attack-minded and looking for goals. 1 goal from Benfica will let Toulouse guard down completely. Things are not going well for Toulouse this season. As long as they stop Dallinga, Benfica will have no problem. They will pass this round by winning both games.

It's very difficult to predict a side bet for Freiburg and Lens. Freiburg have had bad results recently, they can't win matches. Lens is doing well but their chances of winning away are not very high. First game was 0-0, maybe we can see another draw and extra time here.

It's interesting that there are 4 French teams in the last 16 play-off round. Let's see how many will pass the round.
AC Milan will be very confident going into this match, they are already ahead by 3 goals, of course this means they will be more relaxed about playing this second leg and seeing that their quality is much better so no one doubts that they can win the match again.

Benfica against Toulouse will be a fierce match in this second leg, Benfica, which is only 1 goal ahead, cannot play safe because the second leg will be played at home to Toulouse, making the home team have huge motivation to be able to turn things around.
Milan scored the equalizer against Rennes and the score is now a 1-1 draw. They won 3-0 in the first match and now it would be a miracle if Milan is eliminated in this qualifier because Rennes needs 3 goals and time is constantly running out. Karabakh, on the other hand, is fighting to maintain its 4-2 lead in the first match in the match it plays in Azerbaijan. Braga is a very strong team and Karabakh must play defensively to pass this round.
It seems we are going to be seeing lots of goals in this game. So far the scoreline is 2:2 with AC Milan coming from behind twice. They have to avoid defeat I'm this game and they are through to the next stage. I see more goals coming from this game and right now the home team seems to be running out of time. The have to keep fighting to the end and we will see what will happen next.

I think the biggest candidates are Liverpool and Leverkusen, but very strong teams from UCL came to the elimination rounds. There are strong teams such as Galatasaray, Milan and Benfica. Only time will tell us what will happen. If they looked at the teams and asked who would be the favourite, I would say Bayer Leverkusen. My heart is with our Turkish team Galatasaray.
Milan can still compete with Liverpool and Bayer, but the rest are unlikely to be able to compete with them. Klop talked about how he sees Alonso as his successor, and it would be great if Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool met in the final and Alonso could beat Klopp. It is not clear whether Alonso will want to leave Bayer, although the Premier League is a very prestigious championship.
Not sure Milan can compete more with Leverkusen and Liverpool at the moment they are also behind Rennes although they will win on aggregate but I will not favorite Milan in the Europa League.
If Liverpool vs Leverkusen meet in the final this will be interesting and a lot of people's attention will be diverted here, I know how Alonso is always linked with Liverpool or other big teams but this will be a historical match if Alonso and his team beat Klopp in the final, but they can meet in the quarter-finals or semifinals.
You are right Milan is no match for Liverpool and Leverkusen, because they are not as strong as these two clubs. Milan can only get to the finals if Liverpool and Leverkusen clashes before the final, that is when Milan might be chanced to reach the final stage.

Milan has already qualified to the next round, because they were able to take advantage of playing at home in San siro, and won 3-0. This is what Rennes failed to understand by not trying to score any goal in Italy. The host played better than Milan today, because they were pressuring Milan in the second half, but they missed so many chances, that was supposed to be converted to a goal. It will be very hard to score two goals in the extra time, because Milan is very careful in their defense to make sure that Rennes doesn't score again.

AC Milan's result against French club Rennes in the first leg of this tie I think makes it almost impossible for them to be eliminated by the French club the game. Rennes without doubt is a big club that's capable of overturning a 3:0 deficit but considering the fact that they're playing against an AC Milan team that posseses a better squad in terms of quality of players, i don't see them progressing to the next knockout stage of the UEFA Europa League competition.

The game is 55 minutes gone already and the scoreline is still 1:1 but 4:1 on aggregate in favor of the Italian team. So with the current scoreline, AC Milan will be playing in the next stage of the competition.

AC Milan is without doubt one of the strongest teams in the UEFA Europa League and with their scoreline again Rennes, it's safe to say that they're gonna play in the next stage of the competition but I don't think they have all it takes to challenge Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen for the UEFA Europa League trophy this season.

Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool have been absolutely impressive and consistent this season not only in the UEFA Europa League competition but in their respective leagues as they're currently at the top of their respective league table. AC Milan who have to play in the Europa League because they finished third in their group in the UEFA Champions League group stage haven't been convincing with their performances this season especially when they're facing big teams and should they meet any of Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, I think they'll be thrashed by either of them

Milan and AS Roma at this moment do not have the same quality as Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen so ya, even though if Milan and AS Roma managed to qualify but of course there is still no definite guarantee for Milan and AS Roma to be able to advance to the final match. After all, at this moment at least only Milan can certainly qualify because Milan have won big in the first leg with a score of 3-0. But about AS Roma, of course AS Roma still have to make good efforts in this second leg because yes, in the first leg AS Roma only got a 1-1 draw . But the point is, I personally believe that Milan and AS Roma are not entirely appropriate if they are used as title candidate teams because after all, the fact is they still don't fully have consistent performance and results so far this season.

Well, that is, if Milan and Roma qualify for this Playoff round. however, Milan's chances are big enough to advance to the next phase. leading on aggregate in the first half with 3 goals, currently Milan is playing their match at home to Rennes. the match is still running with the score 1-1. just need a draw, Milan has a ticket to advance to the next phase.

Meanwhile, Rome's status is still in doubt. in the first leg, Roma held Feyenoord to a 1-1 draw. Now the two teams will meet again, in a match to determine which team has the right to qualify for the next phase. however, because this match was held at Roma's home ground, De Rossi's team had the advantage because they played in front of their own supporters. apart from that, bookmakers favor Roma. however, we don't yet know the results of this match. because the fight will be held in the next few hours.

Let's just say Roma is able to overthrow Feyenoord, they will automatically have the right to qualify for the next phase. If we compare the two teams that are more favored in this match, it is clear that there is a gap if we compare. Leverkusen and Liverpool are one level above Milan and AS Roma. in fact, statistically, and performance are very far apart. so, it doesn't seem that simple if we compare the teams we mentioned in this post. so, I agree with what @hahay said. Let's just wait a little longer, the match between Roma vs Feyenoord. as for which team will become champion, we can discuss it later.

AC Milan match will be one of the most exciting match because Milan has already qualified for the next round after their three goals to nil defeat of Rennes at their home. Rennes might want to put up a fight but it will really take a miracle to displace Milan at this point because by experience, they Milan is better and they have not been doing badly this season.

If I am asked to guess who will win the trophy, AC Milan and Sporting Lisbon will definitely make the list. Both teams are doing so well this season in their various leagues and have what it takes to withstand any team in the tournament. AC Milan seems to be my favorite because considering the quality of players at their disposal, they can defeat any team presently in the competition. Galatasaray is not ruled out anyways but they are yet to prove that they can withstand teams from other leagues.

Milan is really safe with 3 goals aggregate and they just need to hold a draw until the game ends. Today Rennes tries to play aggressive because they have no other choice except continue to attack and hope for the miracle, Rennes might win today but I'm not sure more than one goal. While the match between Qarabag v Braga seems to be two teams still playing defensive, Braga who lost in aggregate has not shown an aggressive game even though they only have about 45 minutes to catch up and vice versa Qarabag who dominated the match.

Milan is not where the fans should look at anyway, Liverpool is the one to get it if you ask me. Leverkusen has shown the world that they have what it takes and won against Bayern whereas Liverpool lost to Arsenal recently, that is why I would understand why someone would say Leverkusen too.

However, Milan has no chance, they are not even remotely as good as those two teams and have no chance at all, we should not expect them to have a win at all, they are not going to get that win. Liverpool will be the winner if you ask me and Leverkusen is the second in line, Milan may not be even third, there are some other very good teams as well .Milan is decent, but they are not champions level of a team for Europa, not this season at least.

The journey to become europa league champion is still far away. who knows there are surprise matches because it could be that strong teams like liverpool leverkusen or milan lost to the middle of nowhere and unpopular teams.
But if we talk about the biggest opportunity, it's still Livepool and Leverkusen.

Tonight, the last 16 teams would go against each other in the Europa League contest and definitely it'll be tough for a couple of them but still, the best team would win. For Milan, I believe they're a determined side to get a proper result for themselves. It'll be difficult to concur that they'll be the victor at the end but there's still a possibility that they'd make good advancement. Their opponent isn't much of a stress though but not underestimating them, both teams technically fall under thesame frame of performances. Adding that Milan might not be  the host so it's essential that they win the game today, I see the qualifying over Rennes to go into the next round.

Other teams would strive to win a ticket for the last 8 too and this only means that the European contests as it has always been will have enough masse tough game play offs too. Benfica hopefully would be remarkable too and Lens too putting up a fierce battle to their opponents. If all the advanced teams, I can only vouch for Leverkusen as they've been unwavering overtime and if they're to be the winners at the long run, then it's a well deserved victory for them. Not denying the fact that there's still Liverpool and as well other teams who's shown resilience as they advanced. The best thing to do at this point is just to sit back and watch how the games would turn out today. It'll only be risky to predict the outcomes as all the teams schedules are in their respective ways top notch in their performances overtime and it'll certainly be hard on every of them, but definitely, the bests of all would always advance to the next stage.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills

It is rematch day! Galatasaray are going to Prague to finish the job which won't be very easy as it looked from the first leg.  Sad  I wonder if Galatasaray will be able to improve their defending here. Because their biggest vulnerability was this in the first leg which caused them to concede 2 goals. It could have been worse if it weren't for Muslera's crucial saves.

I'm thinking of adding both teams to score @1.48 to my parlay. Because I don't think this will be a one-sided match this time also. What do you think?  Huh
Galatasaray will definitely evaluate what happened in the first leg then now go to Prague to make sure to qualify as long as Galatasaray can play more optimally then it is likely to maintain balance throughout the match.
But so far Galatasaray is still the favorite even though the odds are not much different.

I have added these odds to the parlay and now the bets are more with both teams scoring, but what I saw in the first leg was an average of both teams scoring each other, but make sure again your parlay is not too much it can make you lose. Grin

Braga needs to win by 3 goals, it's not impossible but it doesn't seem likely. Maybe they can win by 2 goals and take the match to extra time. If Qarabag close down and finish the first half without conceding a goal, Braga will panic. Qarabag players can make good use of the gaps created by Braga in defense and score goals. In this case, Braga's chances decrease even more. I think this match is very logical to play for over 2.5 goals.
Yeah I think we will see many score in this match, Braga will try to pressure Qarabag in order to score at least 2 goals, they might don't care with their defense. So this could give a chance Qarabag to score a goal when Braga don't really care with their defense.

The odds for over 2.5 goals seems too low, over 3.5 goals is more worth to bet.
When it comes to betting, maybe everyone has their own strategy. However, I think this match will be fierce, especially since Braga is chasing a two-goal deficit, of course they will play openly and of course Qarabag will play defensively and only rely on counter attacks. They will not play carelessly and make unnecessary mistakes.

And usually if the first leg ends with a lot of goals scored with a score of 4-2 for Qarabag's win, then the second leg will end with a narrow win or few goals scored. So I'm going to bet this again on an Under 3 goal.

I have just looked up for the Europa League fixtures tomorrow and discovered that no English club is there. What really happened, are they all eliminated? I have not been active following Europa League and as well as Champions League since matches United got eliminated.

West Ham, Brighton and Liverpool are already classified in Europa League, you'll see them in the next round  Smiley
Thank you for this information. I have thought how all the English clubs have suddenly been eliminated from the Europa League. I was literally sad Grin

The odds for over 2.5 goals seems too low, over 3.5 goals is more worth to bet.
If you put much attention to odds, you will definitely make a bad bet. Just because the odds for 2.5 is low, you are now forcing him to pursue odds rather than make a natural bet. It is not nice to alternate predictions, if the odds are not favourable, you could just forget that bet.

Huh

In the first match we saw that Sparta Prague is a better team than us in terms of physical strength. They pushed us very hard in the first 20 minutes of the first match. While watching Sparta Prague I thought of the games we played against Molde and Copenhagen. We have to be careful against teams like this, who press all the time and pass quickly through the midfield with short passes. We don't have to win this match. A draw will be enough for us in this match. But the key to winning this match is to break the opponent's passing connections. If we break their passing connections, we will also break their confidence.

Roma and Milan duo of course looks to be strong candidates and I do agree that they are good teams that could end up winning the Europa cup if they can get lucky in few games, they have nobody else than these three teams that can beat them, or of course they could be unlucky and lose to anyone as well.

However, we should not consider them to be all that different, not all that difficult but not all that easy neither. There is a reason why everyone thinks Liverpool or Leverkusen will win, because they are just by far the best and that is why people will end up supporting them all the way through, there is nothing else to be done about this for sure. We just need to consider them to be the leading candidates because they are so good.
