Personally I don't consider Liverpool team as favorite for Europa League because Premier League title is very difficult to win. They have to compete with Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title. If they lose a point in any match, they will be relegated. Liverpool have underperformed in the Premier League in the last three seasons. This is why they will try their best to win the Premier League title this season. And I've seen teams like Barcelona and Liverpool win the Europa League in the past.
However, Liverpool are still favorites for the Europa League title. Because they have a strong squad. Roma have been favorites for the Europa League for the last few seasons. But they can't win the title. On the other hand, the Leverkusen team is performing well this season. So this team is considered as the hot favorite for Europa League.
You guys are not getting tired of talking nonsense about how teams allocate their resources to the various competitions. Now slowly some people here notice how stupid it is to think that Liverpool intentionally neglects the Europa League in order to have more energy to win the Champions League. Then do me a favor and produce the whole breakdown for us. How many percentage points of their energy will Liverpool invest into the Europa League? How many into the Premier League?
But wait, what about Manchester City and Arsenal? Aren't they playing in the Champions League? But is it the same that you say Arsenal gives a damn about the Champions League because they want to win the Premier League? Manchester City, are they going 70% Champions League and 30% Europa League?
Do you realize that something like this doesn't exist and that these teams start the season to win every single cup that has some meaning in football? For English teams that is the Premier League, the FA Cup and a UEFA tournament. They don't skip one for the other.
I don't agree with you. Liverpool is doing very good currently despite the long injury list. Basically, their main players in the midfield are injured. Mac Allister and Thiago are injured. They called back Carvalho probably to handle the situation. But since the January transfer market started today, I think they will be looking to strengthen their lackings. Klopp won't be sitting around you know. If they can tackle their lackings and fix their injury list, I don't see them losing the Europa League.
Let's see who could be the problem for Liverpool in the Europa League. Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, AS Roma, and Villareal probably will be the biggest of their problems. Although Leverkusen is doing pretty good right now, the German league is not that strong. I think Liverpool will be able to deal with them. As for AC Milan, Roma, and Villareal, I think Liverpool will be able to handle the way they are playing right now. They are in the top spot right now in the premier league which is nothing to underestimate.
