I'm not sure what happened to Liverpool versus Union St. Gilloise, or if it's just that they advanced to a later league round. Leverkusen needs to stop playing the way they were playing yesterday or else they will not win the Europa League. Imagine Liverpool losing 1-2, this is unimaginable because many supporters believe that Liverpool will win. Now that Liverpool has advanced to a new round of the league, we can only wait to see what will happen when they play major teams like Roma, Leverkusen, and others.

Leverkusen has not lost a game this season, so whether or not they advance to the next round, they play with the same focus and determination to win every game. If Liverpool and Leverkusen meet and Liverpool does not play their best game plan, I predict that Leverkusen will defeat Liverpool by more than one goal. It will be a difficult game.

I expected Freiburg to get at least a goal in that game. Considering the fact they're very good goal scorers and they have scored a lot of goals in this tournament, they should have had at least a goal. Two first half goals from West Ham made me sure that more goals would come in the second. I knew West Ham had a better chance of winning since they're at home, so I wasn't expecting a win from Freiburg.


What Klopp did was exactly what I would have done in his position. They play Manchester United at home this weekend and he has a premier league top spot to maintain so I don't see why they should play with so much intensity and energy in this game. Aside the United game they have, this was an opportunity to rest his players. Liverpool players need a lot of rest because the premier league gets really intense during this holiday period and if they can stay on top of the table till next year that would really motivate them to remain on top till the end of the season.

Even though Liverpool use B-team players, it's not that bad, only the both wingers are really awful. Gordon and Doak almost don't give any contribution in the field, they have 69% ball possession and only shots four times.

Everyone were expecting Liverpool to win easily, but after Liverpool have show their lineup before the match, it makes people think St.Gilloise will win.

In general, clubs from the Champions League who join the Europa League are not as strong as Liverpool and Leverkusen, but the presence of these clubs can be a threat to them. I only consider Milan, Lens and Galatasaray who can pose a threat, but based on the consistent performances of Liverpool and Leverkusen, the presence of these clubs can improve their quality to go further in the Europa League.
The results depend on the end of the play-off round, after which a new round will begin. The more strong clubs that join the Europa League, the more excitement there will be for the audience when strong teams compete.

Leverkusen and Liverpool will not have to play two play-off matches but AS Roma will have to join play-off with a club drops out from Champions League. They finally got a big win against Sheriff but it was too late and they only ended their group at the second position.

We have to wait till play-off round ends before discussing more about best candidates for the winner of Europa League in this season. Even it is too soon but it is better to start discussions about it when we know about all clubs that will participate in Europa League knock out phase.

Leverkusen and Liverpool look to be strong and best candidates for this race but a general picture can be changed when some big clubs from Champions League join Europa League.

Liverpool don't want to risk their key players playing in a match that no longer has an impact because whatever the result, they have already ensured that they have passed the group phase, and you can see that the starting XI is filled with a lot of second-tier players, even their goalkeeper is the second goalkeeper.
Liverpool has a more important match in the English Premier League because they will face Manchester United.

Liverpool has won the UEFA European League and the last time was in 2001. This shows that they have a good history with the UEFA European League. But even so, they have to be ready and focused because the teams from the Champions League are certainly strong teams that should not be underestimated. So far I see AC Milan as the most likely to beat Liverpool. But we also see that other teams are also quite strong, such as Leverkusen, West Ham or Brighton.

Though Ajax seems to be awaken from their slumber but their win against AEK Athens is what I call ''a medicine after death '' as they are improving at a time when they couldn't make it to the Europa next round but i am optimistic that they will start doing more better now that they've started recording some winnings because their early performance was nothing to write home about so lets see how they turn things around for their own good.

Liverpool and Leverkusen could perhaps be said to be the clubs that will dominate the most in the Europe League, both of them were able to finish in first place with satisfactory achievements. especially Leverkusen. And if you look at their performance in the main league, Liverpool and Leverkusen have also experienced very consistent increases in performance. Indeed, other clubs such as Atalanta, West Ham and also Brighton could be considered. However, Liverpool and Leverkusen remain favorites.

Well, the difference now is that they will have other strong competitors from clubs that were eliminated in the Champions League. And this will probably be quite a big challenge again. I watched the game and from what I saw, Klopp was unwilling to commit more to that game and he didn't bother if the game ended in a loss. Liverpool's team today looked very much like a team of misfits. 3 first team players and 9 of B-team players in the mix? Of course there was not enough cohesion. Liverpool's midfield was in shambles throughout the second half with Union's constant press. It should've ended 3-1 or even 5-1 given the lackluster Liverpool performance.

West Ham scored early and won the game, finished the group first. Freiburg lost and have to play a play-off game to stay in Europa League. My first thought was West Ham United to came out in this group first. They lost to Olympiakos but won all other 5 games, that's impressive. I see them a strong candidate for semi final.

Rangers did the hardest thing and beat Betis in Spain and qualify by being first in the group. It may be the most exciting game tonight, both teams played good. Luckily there were TV coverage for this game and I enjoyed it. In the end Real Betis lost their chance to go on from Europa League and went down to Conference League. Dessers and Sima played great in Rangers. They were the architects of this victory.

Milan is a pretty strong team in Serie A but they are not strong enough in the Champions League. This could be a threat to Liverpool's chances of winning the UEFA Europa League title. For other teams from the Champions League, I think they can be competitive at European level, but I don't think they will be able to compete with strong teams like Liverpool and AC Milan.

Ajax were showing some recovery in the recent times. I mean in their Eredivisie games. However I still expected this performance improvement to reflect onto the Europa League as well. I expected them to beat AEK in the critical game to join the Europa Conference League at least. They really did it by a convincing 3-1 win. 

I'm happy to see Ajax not ending their journey in European competitions early. They aren't a bad team normally but they have had really difficult times for a long time. Finally there is some fight by them to deal with this bad season and turn it into a better one.

In my opinion, Xabi Alonso really upholds the value of prestige. Bayern Leverkusen's last match Xabi Alonso showed how important winning is even when the team is certain to qualify. It's not enough there, I also think that what Alonso has shown can be used as a valuable lesson for other coaches that in every match the goal is victory regardless of the level of weakness or strength of the opponent they face.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Leverkusen has just set a record of never losing in 14 matches since Round 1 against RB Leipzig.
In the European League, Bayern Leverkusen this season qualified as group winners without experiencing defeat. For me, this is an extraordinary achievement for Xabi Alonso and Bayern Leverkusen.

Yep. Leverkusen performed perfectly, they win all the matches in the group stage. No other teams could win all the matches, including Liverpool and Roma. In the early competition, we hope Liverpool and Roma will perform well as Leverkusen, but they seem not in their best form. So, we can assume that Leverkusen is the most favorite team to win this competition because they look to play consistently until the end of this competition.

In the final match of the group stage, Liverpool didn't play with their best lineup. No only the defense, their midfielders and attackers look not really great. It is different with the matches in EPL, they use the best lineup. So, they can get maximum results in each EPL match. But in Europa League, Klopp often rotates the starting lineups. In this matter, we can't compare their matches in EPL and in Europa League.

Leverkusen did a good job, even though Xabi didn't field his full starting eleven. Leverkusen is far superior, both tactically and technically. They scored 5 goals in this match, and only conceded one goal. Molde was rendered helpless by Xabi Alonso's squad during their match at BayArena, Leverkusen's headquarters. It is certain that Leverkusen will advance to the round of 16 with perfect points. Xabi Alonso's squad is truly impressive and cannot be underestimated, for the teams that will meet at Leverkusen in the last 16 phase. You can be sure that Xabi Alonso's squad will play an impressive game. unless Alonso prefers to focus on the Bundesliga. As for Liverpool, this match didn't have much of an impact on them. That's why Jurgen Klopp prefers to rest some of his players and rotate some players. Apart from that, Klopp gives opportunities to his young players. Liverpool still controlled the game, but unfortunately these young players still needed a lot of playing time. However, technically Leverpool are much better. unfortunately, they don't have many chances. I think Klopp is more prepared to prepare his squad when they host Manchester City in the Premier League. Well, I'm interested in using the results of the Brighton vs Marseille match. In my estimation, Marseille has a probability of winning the match even though they are playing at home to Brighton.

Yes, speculations are allowed but the speculations should come after overall analysis of the way the team plays and you can tell that form base, Liverpool and Leverkusen are real good and are title contenders for the Europa League. Yes, Liverpool could have better chance because they’ve got wide range of experience in European competitions and if you check out the 3rd spots of the UCL, you’ve got just AC Milan who could be a big threat to them.

 Liverpool will want to win this competition to secure a top 4 spot especially with how competitive the English League is, however they're going to face a lot of competition, cause now many clubs that finished 3rd position in the UCL have been disqualified into the Europa League, I don't think Liverpool are going to find it easy winning the tournament.

This is another calculated game by Jurgen Klopp who has decided to rest his squad knowing quite well that he has a strong game to play against Premier League arch rivals Manchester United on Sunday. It's also pure fuckery to think that Liverpool will win this game checking the lineup and squad for the game. Most of them important players they dropped for the game against Manchester United. They want to hold on to the top until the first half of the season comes to an end.

In the Premier League Competition, I'm impressed with Liverpool. They have good midfielder's and attackers but I'm not a fan of them defending players. Klopp has to get a new defender if he must win the Premier League. They don't have a good defense as far as I know. Alexander Arnold is not a good defender, Virgil has flopped to an extent but now, we've seen Improved performance, can we see that for the rest of the season?
